[[Dated to directly after You Win or You Die]]

Ploutonion had picked up Aegir and run, and he hadn't stopped until he was as far away from there as he could get, even though his chest hurt and his arms hurt far before that. Finally, he had to stop, and he leaned against a wall and carefully adjusted the unconscious man in his arms.

And that was when he realized that he knew the man. No wonder Aegir had felt familiar - he was Colin. Colin Hargrove, who he'd known for a few weeks in England. They'd had a bit of a thing, it had been good, it had ended naturally and amicably. He liked Colin, and now he owed Colin his life.

Carefully, he set the blond against the wall, and then collapsed there himself. He hadn't even noticed that this new magical identity or...whatever had already faded away, and he was back to being Rhys. A very tired, very shaken Rhys.

He was dead-weight in Ploutonion's arms, even before the magic faded and he powered down into his very vulnerable civilian self. Thick lashes lay against pale cheeks - if he were aware of anything, it was in the most involuntary, rudimentary sort of way. The boy was out.

At least, he was out until he was tucked against a wall, where the chill of mortar and cement was enough to cause his brow to furrow and his eyes to slowly flutter open. Was he alive? It took a few seconds for Colin's sluggish brain to get up to speed, then all at once a flood of anxiety and questions came pouring in. Had Ploutonion gotten Umber down? Were they okay? Where the hell was he?

The blond tried pushing himself up with a groan but ended up failing as his arms were too weak to support even part of his weight. "********..." Wait. Wait a goddamned minute...he wasn't alone, he wasn't powered up...and this was not where he'd left himself when fainting. We got away? Colin was a bit slow, so he recognized the long blue braid as Ploutonion's before realizing he wasn't powered up either.

And...the newly minted Page he'd offered his life for...was Rhys. Goddamn but it was a small world and he just did not have the energy to deal. "So...that happened." Maybe he could just lean against the wall some more, yeah. That was a good idea. "Thanks for getting me out of there." With a heavy, exhausted sigh Colin reached up to rub at his eyes, but his hand only made it part-way up before flopping back into his lap.

"You...okay, Rhys?" This is the last goddamned place I ever expected to see you, jeeeesus. ********, I am so tired. I want to sleep a week, no way am I going to work tomorrow...ugh. What a way to meet again, poor guy...got his starseed ripped out...he's probably exhausted too...

For a while, Rhys was worried that he'd failed, that Colin was dead - but when he began to stir, the Brit let out a sigh of relief. He had done it - sort of. He'd successfully gotten Colin and himself away from...whoever the hell that had been. Whatever the hell that had been.

"That was definitely a thing that occurred," he said, closing his eyes and pressing his palm against his forehead. In the frenzy to, well, not die he hadn't noticed, but now that his adrenaline was dying down, Rhys was suddenly aware of an ache in his chest (and in the rest of his limbs, but his chest caught his attention because it was sort of out of the ordinary.)

"I couldn't just leave you - I don't really know what happened, but I'm fairly certain I owe you my life." Were he a bit less worn out, he might have tried flirting, but he was fairly certain it was a terrible idea when neither of them could stand. Time and place. "I'm...alive, at least. What did happen back there?" Maybe it wasn't the best time to be asking questions, either, but the explanation he'd received on the fly wasn't much of one. He still had no idea what was up with the magic pomegranate or the new outfit except that it meant he was a Knight - Page, really.

The only way that meant anything to him was as part of a heraldic tradition. He was fairly certain that was not what was going on here. Or maybe it was, just with more woo woo magic nonsense.

"Sorry...god, what a mess." Why was he apologizing? Aegir hadn't done anything to cause what had happened - as a matter of fact, if he hadn't done things the way he had...they'd both probably be dead. And yet...he felt somewhat to blame for Rhys being dragged into the powered world.

Colin grit his teeth and pushed up again, this time managing to shove up enough that he was no longer listing horribly towards the cold concrete beneath them. "Well, you're not wrong." He laughed, a short, harsh sound that was quite unlike his usual laughter, "That guy was from the Negaverse and he yanked your star-seed from your chest. It's basically your soul, I guess? You can't live without it. Anyway...they take those from people to fuel their organization. Some of us fight against it."

He groaned as a new ache settled into his bones, "I'm a senshi, you're a knight. Most knights that I've met are against the Negaverse. Just trying to keep Destiny City safe, y'know? We fight those guys and their monsters...or I do, if they want to fight. Some don't, but it's rare. There are also Dark Mirror Senshi...they're kind of..grey?" Really, how much more was there to say?

"Uh..my place isn't too far from here, if you want to crash. I'm exhausted and..it's not safe to stay out like this." Plus, he could tell Rhys more, whenever they woke.

Rhys laughed bitterly. Yes, 'a mess' was a fairly accurate description. He stayed seated, for the moment, preferring to catch his breath on the ground.

"So...you're saying that for the time I was unconscious, he had hold of my soul?" That was a terrifying thought. What would have happened if it had been lost permanently, or destroyed? Would it come back to him somehow, or would he have been...dead? That was what it sounded like. That was...terrifying, there was no other word for it.

Colin's description wasn't exactly making things clearer, but at least he now knew that there were people like him out there, with the same titles and whatever else. "I'm...a Knight of Saturn, I think," he said, though how he knew that he couldn't say. He frowned. "Does that mean anything? Saturn the planet, or Saturn the child-eating Roman agricultural deity?" He hoped he could clear some of this, at least.

When he realized his breathing was evening out, he made an effort at standing, and was pleased to discover he could manage that. "Your place sounds like a good idea, since mine is a bit of a walk, ah, that way." He gestured in the direction they'd come from. "I don't fancy having to walk back there, not if he's still lurking around."

"Basically, yes." Terrifying, wasn't it? Aegir could only shudder a bit at remembering Rhy's starseed inside Umber's mouth and between his teeth, the threat and promise of it. The way his stomach had dropped.

Rhy's expression said he wasn't quite getting what Colin was laying down, but really...could he be blamed? They were both damned tired and had just survived a lot. "I'm no explaining well right now, but after we've gotten some rest I can show you a few things that might make it all easier to digest." Along with breakfast. His companion said he was a Knight of Saturn, which really did mean quite a bit.

"Well, it means - as far as I understand - that your Wonder is related to the planet Saturn...probably draws some power from there. Aegir is one of Saturn's moons, so technically we're part of the same sphere of influence. At least, that's what I've come to understand after all this time. Death, rebirth, silence...that sort of thing."

"It's not too far, up some stairs though." Plenty of room...and Nischal wouldn't be bothered...if he even bothered to show his face at all. "C'mon then, let's go. I'll even make you breakfast tomorrow." With that, Colin dragged his a** up onto his feet and wavered a moment, steadying himself with the wall he'd been leaning on as his vision danced momentarily. He'd be able to lead Rhys to the apartment he shared with Bjorn and Nischal, get the long haired fellow a set of his pajamas to wear, some bedding for the couch, and introduce him to the bathroom before pleading exhaustion and crawling off to bed himself.

For once he wouldn't spend hours torturing himself endlessly, instead falling deeply asleep moments after his head touched the pillow.
