Shun let out a deep breath as he settled by the water. He had a fair bit on his mind. After all, he had just volunteered to be a sacrifice. Whether or not he would be chosen was another matter.
Gingerly, he removed some of his armor, then knelt down at the edge of the lake. He was pretty battered, bloodied, and bruised. Perhaps he could get some quiet time here while awaiting the results. The knight dipped his hands into the water and began to wash off the dirt and blood that coated his body, as well as to clean his wounds. Or at least try to.

After letting the spirits of the lake heal her wounds and getting cleaned up a bit, Estel wandered around the lake's edge, staring at her feet.
She had been through the grinder enough today already. She felt... like she was running out of emotions to feel. Everything was just sort of numb. She wanted to lie down for a long time and not get up.
At least she was clean. Unlike somebody else over there.

Someone had approached. Shun glanced back to see who it was. At her greeting, he let out a low grunt in response before continuing with what he was doing.
"I heard you volunteering. Are you certain you are up for that?" he asked idly before hissing a little sharply as he brought some water over one of his open wounds. Mordred had gotten him pretty good back there.

Estel found somewhere to sit down along the lake's edge, folding her hands in her lap. "What, you don't think I'm strong enough?" she asked. It came out a little snappier than she had meant it to.

"Some of the same reasons. I recalled one memory. I was nothing more than a street rat. Becoming a knight doesn't really make me any more important in the grand scale of things," Shun replied quietly, still tending to his injuries and the like.

"That was you," Estel said slowly, turning to stare at him. It hadn't really clicked in her mind until just now. "I used to steal food for you."
Maybe it was fitting. They had given up their memories to become knights - perhaps that had been to equalize the playing field a little.

Shun paused in his actions as she said this. Slowly, he turned around, looking her over. Now that he thought about it, she did look like the girl in the memory. It seemed they had somehow managed to both end up here, then. His eyes came to a close for a moment as he shook his head in thought.
"That didn't seem to work out for you. You were pretty beat up. And... I told you not to. That didn't stop you though."

"Mm, all very noble intentions~" Chel drawled at the twosome. She had been napping under a tree nearby and had been interrupted by the chatter. She could have walked away and found a different place to be in peace, but if she was honest Chel always did rejuvenate better in the presence of people. She was an extrovert.
She didn't move from her spot where she was lounging though. It just made one ask how long had she been listening? "You ain't so selfish yerself," she said in reference to Shun, letting him figure out what she meant by that.

Shun scoffed as he heard chel speak. He just shook his head, then inspected one of his wounds a bit. That was good enough now. Satisfied, he went on to inspect his equipment, cleaning then as well.
"I don't know what you're talking about," he muttered in turn.
