Cody Rivera is just your average everyday guy, he has a decent job working at his college that he is trying to finish up at. When he was taking classes and working with the college, he didn't have much time for dating. He wasn't sure why but one of his friends set up a blind date with him with a girl he had never met before. He said many good things about her but wondering why he needed to date he decided to go along with it anyway. Cody looked around as he got to the place that the date was set up, it was a nice little diner/restaurant that he had only been to once. When he began to look around for the girl who matched the small description of details given to him he wondered what she really looked like.

Alice White
Alice White never went out much, mostly because she always seemed to need an escort nearby. She would have preferred to stay at home and practice playing the piano, but her friend had insisted she met with Cody. Running a bit late, Alice's brother drove her to the diner and sighed. "Let's get this over with." He said. Alice had a leash in hand as she stepped out of the car and onto the pavement. The Service Dog climbed out of the backseat right behind her, wearing it's vest. "I will be right here in the parking lot if you need me." Her brother said. Alice nodded, before closing the door and letting her husky lead the way. Stepping inside the diner, the bell rang to announce her arrival.

Cody was at the table when a woman with a dog walked in, he was curious to what was going on, he was curious why she had a dog. When he noticed that she was blind he wondered who she was here to see but their was a waitress that walked up to her, "Can I help you miss?" She asked kindly to her.

Alice smiled. "I'm looking for Cody. He was suppose to meet me here for a blind date." She said, realizing how silly that must have sounded.

Cody thought that he heard his name but when the waitress nodded, she lead Alice to the table Cody was at but he got up surprised, "Um, Alice?" He asked thinking that he was more surprised that his blind date was really blind.

Alice smiled when she heard her name. "Yes. It's me. You must be Cody. It's nice to meet you." She said, carefully outstretching her hand for him to shake, unaware of how close he really was to her. The dog stood at attention, keeping its dark brown eyes on the boy.

Cody looked at her and then looked at her dog curiously, he then looked at her hand and gently shook it as he thought it over, "Yes, I must say that I wasn't expecting... you to bring your companion here... I don't have any problems with dogs or anything, I love dogs but I wasn't expecting it." He said softly still more shocked that she was blind but didn't want to bring that up.

Alice smiled. "This is Enapay. He is really sweet and a dear old friend. I promise he wont bother you." The waitress led the two to a table nearby, handing them a menu as the dog sat next to Alice, quietly observing his surroundings. Alice put the menu down, not offended that the waitress hadn't quite grasped that she couldn't read it. "I'd be perfectly content with a soda and a cheeseburger." She said to the waitress.

Cody looked at waitress but when she gave them the menus he just felt more off set at how this was just awkward. When she ordered the burger the waitress nodded and wrote it down but he looked at her, "Um, I will take the same only I would like a cherry cola." he said kindly but when the waitress took his order and left, he turned to Alice, "So... I think it is only best to get this awkward thing out of the way... your blind huh?" He asked feeling like it only felt good to know how it happened and get that subject out of the way, he didn't want to bring up something that would hit a nerve by accident.

Alice gently stroked behind her dog's ear as the waitress left to put in their order. When Cody asked the question, she burst out laughing. "Is it that obvious?" She asked. Alice wasn't bothered by her blindness. In fact, it allowed her to see the world how she wanted to see it and in her mind, it was beautiful. "My blindness was a birth defect called retinopapathy. It's a malformation of the retina in the eyes that tangle so the retina gets damaged. But I don't mind it."

(Dean no!? I quoted >,< Sorry, saw your sig) Cody heard her laugh and was rather surprised when she seemed perfectly fine with it but he nodded, "So you were born blind. So you have no idea what anything really looks like?" He asked curious to how she sees the world and if she even has an idea of what is around her but he didn't mean it in a negative way.

(haha! I love dean. ^-^) Alice smiled, looking in the direction of Cody's voice, but her eyes were fixed just over his shoulder. "I have to rely on my other senses. Though I don't know what things look like, I know what they feel like, smell like and sound like. When I was little, everyday my father would bring a different object of some sort to the house, letting me touch it while he explained its purpose to me. Though some things I will never quite understand. Like electiricity. I can imagine the dark of course, cause that's all I see, but I will never understand what it's like to see light."

He noticed that she wasn't looking directly at him but he figured she meant that she followed his voice to know which direction he was in. He listened to her explain how she 'sees' but when she spoke about electricity he smiled, "Well actually electricity isn't much to see... its caused by a chemical reaction or from other sources to create a wattage that travels through cables or circuits." He said but smirked, "Sorry... I love technology... but you aren't missing much since even with light, some things seem dark." He said more as a joke.

Alice smiled."You sound like you know what you're talking about. I wouldn't know the difference between the two." Propping her elbows on the table, she clasped her hands together and leaned her chin on them. "So tell me about yourself. I gather you are smart. What are you studying in school? Do you like your classes? Any wild parties? Do you have any siblings? Are you from here? Do you play an instrument? What about a tattoo no one else knows about?" She winked at him, curious about who it was she was spending the evening with.

Cody was surprised she had begun to ask more questions in series. He was able to keep up with the amount she asked so he thought it over, "I am studying computer engineering, I guess, I get to learn about new tech and such. No, I don't like wild parties. No, actually, never had siblings and sadly the only family I had was my mother who I lost in a car wreck a few years back... No, I moved from a two miles away. I started to play the guitar a bit but sadly classes took up time. And no, I haven't really found a reason for a tattoo." He answered her questions thinking that he was a sadly boring person.
