It wasn't often that Ganymede went out on her own these days. After New Year's, she didn't like to be alone even in civilian garb, but while powered she felt the need for a companion even more.
Unfortunately, a companion could not always be found. Chris had his career which was taking off, and her allies had other priorities that did not always include her. She could understand, for she was the same way. They all had lives. She simply had to adapt to the changing circumstances as they came to her.
So she kept her solitary patrols close to places where she felt most comfortable. The playground by the church just down the street from her old house was one such place. She often chose it as a meeting ground, and tended to find herself drifting there when she had nowhere else to go.
Tonight she sat atop the rusting metal slide, staring up as she often did at the few, small flecks of starlight that manage to show through the city's ambient light. She searched for the place where Ganymede must be and wondered if perhaps tonight would be a good time for a quick visit. It had been a while since her last one, and she was starting to feel the beginning stages of the anxiety that often took hold of her when her visits to her homeworld came few and far between.

Lenka had no qualms with patrolling alone...it was a very rare thing for her to go out with anyone nowadays...not that she had ever really stuck to the principal that Julienne kept trying to teach, the fact that senshi were designed to work together, not alone...but she was just a loner. It wasn’t that she avoided the auras of other senshi, no in fact on the off chance she felt one, she normally liked to go towards them, rather than away...and tonight was no different.
Perhaps if she had known that it was going to be Ganymede...well. perhaps she wouldn’t have gone so happily up to the other senshi...but, alas...there she went, even going so far as to smiling. “Good evening!”
The eternal senshi walked towards the park and looked up at the person on top of the slide. “It’s a nice night...uh...”
Her brown eyes landed on the soft glow coming from the other senshi’s skin. “...I’m uh. Eternal Sailor Lenka...it’s nice to...um.”
She wasn’t even sure if she could say anything really. “It’s nice to meet another eternal...it seems like there’s just not enough of us.” There. Saved it.

Ganymede felt the arrival of another Eternal on the edges of her senses. It was a comforting feeling, not like the aura of a youma or a Negaverse officer, and she allowed it to draw closer before glancing down from her perch on the slide.
The Senshi that greeted her looked rather young. Not much older than Peter, if she was any older at all. But not a Chibi, Ganymede realized—and that was intriguing. She'd never quite understood the workings of Chibi Senshi.
In any case, this girl seemed friendly enough, if a little hesitant. Ganymede smiled and hopped down from the top of the slide, landing gracefully in the mulch and woodchips that made up the park's ground.
“More of us these days than there used to be,” Ganymede said. “More than there were three years ago, at least.
“I'm Ganymede,” she introduced herself. She held out her glowing right hand with the golden phantom scar across the palm, with the intention of partaking in a friendly handshake.
“I don't recall seeing you around much before. How long have you been an Eternal?”

Lenka took a deep breath and flashed a smile. “Well, more is better, I suppose. And, I’ve been an eternal for about three years, so, no issues there. I’ve been a senshi for over four years...so I guess I can say the same about you. I’ve never seen you around before.”
She was so on edge. Was this really just the new thing? All senshi were just…giving themselves up to be ‘uncorruptable?’ if so, she was starting to get to the point where it was almost borderline…frightening. And how dare this senshi just talk down to her like that, like she wasn’t as good as the glowing b***h was. Because…damnit. She was better.
The wine haired senshi took the offered hand finally, giving a very firm shake. “So. How long have you…been glowing? That’s not normal, you know.”
She looked at the transcendent eternal and shook her head. “It really isn’t. It’s wrong, and quite frankly, I find the whole idea…quite disgusting, I’ll have you know.”

“Then you've been around as long as I have,” Ganymede observed. “I'm surprised we haven't met before now.”
She was pleased by the firm handshake, but not so pleased by the words Lenka was speaking. Ganymede's smile faltered somewhat, her hold on Lenka's hand weakening until she dropped it entirely—not so much hurt as she was confused.
“I've... been this way for a year,” she said, hesitant now, and staring at Lenka cautiously. “It feels normal enough to me. I'm... sorry if you don't feel that way?”
The expression on her face was all confusion.
“What's so wrong and disgusting about it?” she asked, hoping clarification would help. “I'm safer from corruption than you are. Not so much safer from death, though. I'm pretty sure most of the Negaverse would try to kill me on sight now. Not worth their time to try and do anything else to me, you know?”

“What is it about it that you find so grand? Who cares if you’re safe from corruption. You’ve turned yourself into something that’s different than the rest of us. We’re supposed to be in this together…not having some of us go down a completely different path.”
Her hands curled into fists and she sighed. “You don’t understand. Even if we do eradicate chaos, you’ll be the next ones to be eradicated. We can’t have differences on the same side, eventually you’ll turn on the rest of us. Thinking you’re superior. You’re a horrible person. It’ll be just like them. Join or die. That’s how this always works.”
Lenka looked up and locked her gaze with the transcendent eternal. “I hope that one of the Negaverse’s weapons ends up in your chest, to be perfectly blunt and honest.”
There was no room for this. This was war, she was focused on the real enemy, but if these glowing idiots wanted to have their own agenda, she would not tolerate it. Their numbers had to be somewhat small now…it wouldn’t…shouldn’t take too much effort to get rid of them.

Ganymede didn't know whether to laugh, stand there in confusion, or look upon the girl in horror.
“Excuse me?” she said. Her brow raised in curiosity mixed with confusion. “What the hell are you on about?”
Unsure where this had come from, Ganymede didn't quite no how to respond. Denying whatever delusions this girl had didn't seem as if it would be the right way to go about things, since the delusions would surely still remain. Going along with it would be worse, if only because it would give credence to Lenka's delusions and allow her to continue to believe what she said to be the truth.
So she rolled her eyes and went with sarcasm.
“Oh, yeah, me and my girl Ida and my man Babylon are secretly plotting to take over the White Moon once Chaos has been kicked to the curb. You know, we had a meeting a few days ago, all six or seven of us. Not really good numbers to stage our little takeover, but I'm sure our numbers will grow over time.”
The sarcasm stopped as suddenly as it began, the amused look on her face replaced by a frown.
“Look, kid, I don't know where you're getting this stuff from, but the only thing I care about is kicking Chaos's a** so I can go home and live a normal life with my husband and my kids, so let's save this talk of eradication for something else, yeah? The royals are different than we are. Should we eradicate them, too?”

Lenka’s eyes narrowed and she shook her head. This was stupid. This senshi was stupid. This everything was stupid.
She wasn’t going to continue…but Babylon…that was a name she hadn’t yet met. Maybe she could find this person and…and what?
And stop them? Kill them? Do what?
Again, Acuben’s words floated up through her mind. ‘You’re not a killer’. No. No she might not be a killer…not yet, that was true…but that didn’t mean she couldn’t start…it didn’t mean she couldn’t be. Maybe that was what this side of the war needed. Maybe they needed someone who wasn’t afraid to get their hands dirty. Someone who had been in this for so long that they had literally grown up in the war…
She had to become what the city needed…regardless of what that meant for her…and honestly, to do that…she had to take a big step now.
The eternal senshi drew in a breath and turned on her heel, leaping up onto the nearest building and getting the hell away from Ganymede. It wasn’t the time to make things get ugly. She had things to think about, and she couldn’t do it there. It wasn’t the time to continue the conversation. Maybe some other time, but not tonight.

The younger Senshi's sudden departure came as something of a surprise to Ganymede. She'd been expecting more arguments. People didn't generally respond to her sarcasm by up and leaving, particularly when there was a point to be made.
But there was Lenka, going on her way as if the conversation hadn't taken a heated turn.
Ganymede watched her leave and shrugged to herself. She lifted a hand to wiggle her fingers in a sarcastic wave.
“Nice talking to you too,” she said.
She turned to make her way away from the playground without looking back.
