Fight in the Marketplace!
Prompt 2

Solo word minimum is 500

The people of Tendaji seem to be settling in - and some in places far from their homeland. The tensions are high, and with the whispers of the Alkidike planning an offensive… well, some have been on edge and ready for a fight. Were the outsiders going to help their people when the time came to fight the extremist Alkidike? Most of the natives to the area had their doubts.

An argument had broken out in the market, verbal at first, but it wasn’t long before it became a physical confrontation.

This prompt can be played from either side: your character can be the instigator, or on the defense.

This battle prompt will be resolved by rolling 1D100.

xxxxxPrentice must roll 70-100 for success.
xxxxxStage 2 must roll 60-100 for success.
xxxxxStage 3 must roll 50-100 for success.
xxxxxStage 4 must roll 40-100 for success.

|| Success will result in 50exp in addition to the versatile point
|| Failure will only allow for the versatile point credit.

Maybe she hadn’t always been the most welcome addition to her village. It wasn’t her fault that she was brought here, that her mother had died and they had to live in Tale. But the looks she received begged to differ. With the increasing number of attacks within Jauhar, Alkidikes were discriminated against. The whispers that followed the young hybrid, it didn’t matter if she had nothing to do with the attacks.

Lost in her thoughts, as she wandered the marketplace, Wyome didn’t even notice the large leaf tribe male before her. Even if she was taller than most females her age, he seemed to tower over her.

“Watch where you’re going!”

“S-sorry, sir,” she said quietly. Her first instinct was to run from the angry looking man, but she needed to finish her errands.

“Stupid bug, why don’t you go back to the forest where you belong?” He smiled, probably thinking that he was some sort of wise guy as snickers echoed from the background.

“Excuse me?” Wyome’s antenna twitched in irritation as she brought her eyes back up to the man. “I apologized, why are you being so rude?"

“Because you're a bug, just like I said. You might be some half-breed, but you’re still a bug,” he said as he gave a glance around. “I’m sure others would agree with me.”

As a crowd began to gather around the two of them, she felt a mix of astonishment and anger. Were these people really that bored that they would make a spectacle of a brutish man and herself? They should have just left her alone like they always did.

“I might be part Alkidike, but don’t take your frustration out on me, sir. I’ve lived here almost all of my life.” Not like she was wanted by either the leaf tribe or the Alkidikes, but she lived here nonetheless. She attempted to take a step back, not really wanting to go through this confrontation. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be leaving now.” Errands or no, she needed to get out of here.

As she turned away, she felt a sharp tug pulling her back. Taking her by the hair, the man sneered “Oh really? You think you’ll be getting away with that disrespect that easily? I bet you’re just like the rest of those bugs, itching for a fight. You just want to find your sisters so they can loot the earthlings that pass through here.” Promptly lifting her off the ground, he gave her a quick shake. She had to bite her tongue to keep from crying out. He didn’t deserve the joy of hearing her cry out, but oh did she want to rip into him.

“Your mixed blood doesn't redeem you. A bug is a bug. Now get back to your hive, you stupid insect” he said, tossing her to the ground, leaving her to dust herself off with a grimace.

Even if there were extremist Alkidikes, maybe it wasn’t so terrible if someone like him ended up being attacked. For now, she grabbed her scattered things with a sigh. No, she couldn’t wish that on him, he was probably acting out of fear. In the end, he may have won this round, but she would be sure that the local Chief would hear about this.
