Kari once more asked for supplies and once more recieved a bag containing food and other goods from the silent Guild Master. Greater Mantle of the Iris was her goal this time around.

Kari grimaced when her path lead her not to a wolf, but a bear. It roared menacingly as it barreled towards her and her horse. Barely dodging out of the way, Kari hissed when her landing sent her leg against a jagged rock.

Ignoring the pain, Kari charged forward while the animal was still trying to turn around, ramming her spetum through its neck before it could re-orient itself to face her completely. The bear weaved around a bit before slumping to the ground.

Taking a moment to wrap her leg, she continued on.

Spider... why did it always have to be spiders? Kari tried not to think too hard about the food she'd lost in her attempt to get away from the giant insect. At least she was still alive.

Kari should have known that there would have been more than one trap. While she'd managed to spot the first one, the second one had caught her be surprise. Luckily, the axe didn't do more than cause Kari to shift onto her injured leg to avoid death.

Kari had been so careful, yet her leg gave out at the worst opportunity, causing her pack to slide off the horse and down the mountain into a ravine.

Letting out a depressed sigh, Kari mounted her horse and made her way back to try again.

Once more, Kari set out with a slightly smaller bag of supplies. If she didn't know better, she'd swear the Guild Master didn't like her considering how often she received small bags of supplies.

Kari tried not to grumble as a swarm of bees scared off her horse. Why in the world were the horses they were given so unreliable? Was it really hard to train a horse meant for combat? Or maybe she'd just picked a bad one from the bunch.

Whatever the case, she was down a horse. Picking up the pack, Kari slung it over her back and continued on by herself.

Once more, the giant spider chased her through the forest. She really hated that thing...

Kari felt fatigue plaguing her as she continued through the labyrinth. Having no horse to carry her pack was really tiring. Trying to stifle a sneeze, lest she attract unwanted attention, Kari hefted the pack into a better position on her shoulder and made her way through the maze of stone.

Luckily, Kari was able to make it through with only blisters.

Kari was grateful to see the old man. She gave a faltering smile when asked of her journey.

"Well, I'm managing, but today has been less than pleasant. You should be especially careful today since the creatures roaming the area seem to be more aggressive than usual today", Kari replied with a grimace.

Once more, the old man waved off her warning, but rewarded her compassion with some food, which Kari took with a warm smile.

After a slow trudge up the mountain, Kari finally saw the edge of the summit. Dragging herself up, she sat down to catch her breath and take in the scenery. Once more, a stone pedestal holding the item she sought laid before her. Pulling herself up, she walked towards what Kari could identify as The Greater Mantle of the Iris. Picking it up, she couldn't help but admire the texture of the fabric.

Placing the item into her pack, Kari started her slow descent down the mountain.
