I know I haven't requested many updates up to this point, but with the anniversary of the soul capture coming up I admit I'm curious as to how the raevan is doing. Any sort of news is fine, and I hope you've been doing well.

Hey Ronan! I was actually JUST thinking about calling you to ask if you wanted another update! I do have a couple of things for you this time but before I start capslocking at you about them...Would you like me to take and send you a few pictures to go along with it?

Pictures would be wonderful actually! It'll be nice to have something concrete to show my friends and family, even if it's a bit blurry through the tank. They've know about things for awhile and, needless to say, they're starting to get curious.

You got it! Sending you three of them, one of them with me standing next to the tank for reference. Just so you know, I'm 5'9".

So I know you've been waiting FOREVER for your Raevan but I'm happy to report I've figured out just why they're a slow grower! Well...maybe not SLOW but I'm pretty sure all of their energy up until now has gone into growing those wings!!! THEY'RE HUGE! The photos will show it best even with the tank water being murky but those two black shapes behind them that are kind of taking up a lot of the room in there? WINGS!!!!!!

That... I admit I almost speechless! I knew bat's wings were large compared to their body size, but it's still so strange to see it in relation to the raevan. I'm so glad to see they're doing well though! I have to leave for the moment, but I'll be sure to get back to you on how the first pictures go over when I show them around.

It's amazing what the soul can affect for the Raevan! Also it's hard to see in the ones I took, but they have small bat-looking ears too. Hair is pretty short right now but I'm sure that'll probably grow more before they're born. Can't tell colors though because of the water and low light though oops!

And yeah let me know for sure! If you want any more, just say the word!

Well, I just got back from work today and to say the pictures made an impression would be an understatement. I'm glad you gave me so much information on raevans up front, because I was fielding questions all day! And, I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but... a betting pool has started on if they'll be a boy or a girl. Tomorrow is going to be interesting, to say the least.

On the gender question, I'd say if you have it it'd be neat to know, but if you haven't had a chance yet that's fine too. It won't hurt my coworkers to have to be patient.

Thanks again!

I took a look for you and it's actually kind of hard to tell at this point in time! Usually we look for the chest to determine but right now there isn't enough of one developed to make a call. They've got the collar area and upper chest formed already so just a waiting game there. It always seems like that area is the last to develop. Wings and arms/hands must take the most energy, especially the former in your boy or girl's case!!! But don't worry, I'll let you know the moment I know!

As for me...I'll throw a dollar into the 'happy healthy anything' pool!

Thanks for the news! To be honest, that'd probably be the category I'd put into if I were participating in the betting pool.

On a slightly different subject, my niece Maili is starting to get a little restless about the status of the raevan. She was happy to see the pictures but at the same time it just reminded her that the wait's not quite over yet. Do you have any ideas on how to possibly make the wait easier for her? Thanks again.

I think we'd win that bet! Lab's got a fantastic track record for happy, healthy anythings!

Hmm...Well I could offer you guys a chance to come and visit your Raevan if you'd like! Photos are one thing, but actually getting to see them in the tank is another. I did that with a Guardian named Anita when her Raevan was still inside his tank, so don't worry about red tape or anything.

Buuuuut...Maybe I could also interest you guys in another project the Lab has going on? Well, I guess I should say we started it back up again, really. No wait for anything from this one, what do you say?!

That sounds like a great idea. What day would work best for you? I work during the day this week, of course, but I'd be more than able to make a stop by after work, and I'd be okay waiting until weekend if that'd work better.

As for the side project, go ahead and give me the info. You've definitely piqued my curiosity.

The weekend's a great time for me! I work at my full time job during the week so I'm better to catch at Lab on the weekends. How about this coming Saturday or Sunday?

Well the project is related to these guys in the selfies I attached! They're called Chimeras and they're kind of a pet project of the Lab. Literally, haha. These four are ready to go to new homes and of course we're looking internally first from our Guardians and Raevans. If you swing by over the weekend, we can have a two-part meet and greet! You and Maili meet your Raevan and then you both can meet these guys and see who clicks with you and your family! We could also do lunch or something, I'm open to anything!

Even with knowing about the raevans I'm still amazed with some of the stuff you guys do. Out of curiosity, what are some of the care requirements for the chimeras? I want to make sure we can give them everything they need beforehand.

And this may be a little unorthodox but... I was wondering, might I be able to bring home one of the chimera's to Maili during the week instead? That way we can get them settled beforehand, and we wouldn't have to time budget quite as much on Saturday. Are there any weekdays you think would work okay for that?

We have a few pamphlets printed up for folks looking to adopt these guys but requirements for them aren't heavy! The foxfish and the octopuss both need access to water, of course, but the foxfish needs it a lot more than the octopuss given his hind end. The butterflox will need some wide open areas to fly around with and also has nectar as part of its diet (though sugar water, like for hummingbird feeders, will do just fine). Catsunes are kind of mischievous so you might need to proof your home for that one if you like it and it works out, but feeding that one is arguably the easiest, given both of his parts are carnivores.

Sure that sounds fine by me! How about the 11th? It's midweek, but I get out of work early that day, so we can have you and the Chimeras meet and if things go well, you'll be able to take one of them home!

The 11th sounds good! Out of the four kinds the butterflox definitely sounds like it'd be the easiest to integrate in the home, but of course I'll still need to see how things go at the meet and greet. What time would be good for you? 4 pm is when I get out of work myself.
