Prompt 1

Solo or RP Format
Can be used toward Solo or RP req

Word spread fast in a place like Tendaji. Surprising when the people were so spread out, but now that there was more traveling it was a growing rumor mill spreading word as fast as earthlings could move. It was little secret that a group of Alkidike were starting to cause problems in Tendaji. The extremist Alkidike felt that it was high time that Jauhar was taken back from the shifters and the alarming growth of others that were settling into their land.

There were growing accounts of ambushing in the jungles of Jauhar, where shifters and other earthlings were being beaten and sacked for their things before being threatened to leave Jauhar… and there was only so much these poor people could take before they fled the scene and packed their bags. What would happen if the Alkidike decided to spread out further than Jauhar and became a threat to all earthlings?

They were still rumors, and nothing could be proved, but many were beginning to cast a disapproving gaze toward the Alkidike and a weary eye to Jauhar’s borders...

*****

Aysun was leaning over on Maw's back, holding onto him, his eyes closed, "Bleh... I don't feel good! Why couldn't Chandra be home where he was easy to find?" To be fair he'd been unable to really search the whole house, instead having sent Flower in as his scout, but there hadn't been any sign of him that the sprite had seen. He couldn't very well go in on his own though because if his mother saw him she'd want to know what happened. If she knew what happened, well, it would just get messy. He didn't want her off hunting down every Alkidike she saw trying to find the ones that had ganged up on him. Not to mention that it would only get worse if she told his father and his uncles. From what he'd seen in the past the only thing his father and uncle Jacin seemed to agree on and help one another with was when someone messed with their family.

No, he couldn't let that happened, didn't want any of them getting mixed up in his own mistakes. He'd let himself get soft, get lulled, and he forgot for a moment that not all the Alkidike in the world were like Samoset and Teiluj. Not all of them were friendly, they couldn't all be reasoned with or chatted with, hell, there were those that wouldn't just let him walk passed when he was what he was. It seemed that Maw's presence hadn't helped either only giving them them more reasons to go after him. Feh, as though he was some Oban supporter! He wanted to complain about that, how he'd fought in the war too, but he wasn't feeling up to it. He was hurting too much.

"Ahh... good, we're here." He murmured tiredly, looking to Flower who was sitting on his shoulder. He gave the sprite a smile and said, "I need you to get Teiluj, alright? Be very careful though, they have lots of radaku after all, and she said her mother had a janarim as well. Don't let anyone but Teiluj see you." The sprite gave a nod before zinging forward through the shadows, going to see out their friend.

"No, thanks. I had some fruit and a peice of meat not long ago, I'll make some stew later." With a sigh, Teiluj headed out of the kitchen, retrieving her bag as she headed into the living room to curl up on the soft mound of fur with her books. The first book she dragged out was one she had taken great lengths to procure in the dying forest, a book on how to alter and restore memories. Teiluj wrinkled her nose and started to put the book away but stopped as she stared at it some more.

There was no use looking at that one for now, she wasn't even sure it would work given the fact she hadn't been able to ask the old sage any questions about it. Not to mention if being able to alter memory or even restore them were something easy, wouldn't it be more common knowledge by now?

Grunting Teiluj shoved the book back into her bag and reached for another one. This one more on the subject of bones. Flipping to the first page Teiluj paused. There was a strange ruckus in the other room her eyes glanced towards the doorway as Tao came scurrying into the room. His eyes locked on something as if it were a toy.

He'd done his best, but there was only so much that a bright pink sprite could do to be sneaky. It probably didn't help that he smelled of Aysun, Maw, and various others that Flower came into contact with during the day. That didn't matter though now as the radaku Tao chased him, all that mattered now was getting to Teiluj. Upon seeing her he gave a happy, chiming sound, racing over to and all but threw himself under her hair in hopes of disapearing into it like what he did with Aysun's hair when something scary came after him.

Once 'hidden' he set to chirp at Teiluj, trying to deliver the message that Aysun had given him to deliver. She had to come outside! She had to help Aysun! Of course after a moment it was as though he realized he didn't know Earthling speak and he fell quiet, tugging on her hair lightly instead.

Teiluj gave a squeak at the strange blur of color, sitting up on the furs she was currently snuggled into. To sluggish to follow the speeding sprite, with her eyes her hands were quick enough to spring around the tiny humanoid creature, her eyes stared as the Janarim soon entered quickly followed by a few remaining pups. "Stop right there!" Teiluj shouted twisting so her body could more effectively hide the source of the disturbance. Pleased when they seemed to listen, for the most part, and several of them seemed to leave except for Tao and the Janarim.

Giving the pair a warning look Teiluj could hear the ringing in her ears. Did others understand this ringing? She sure didn't, cupping her hands under the Sprites feet trying to edge it onto her hands so she could get a better look at who it was Teiluj gave a surprised expression. This was Flower wasn't it? Aysuns tiny sprite! Looking around the room as her hair was lightly tugged on Teiluj's green eyes flashed back to the sprite. If Aysun wasn't in the house then perhaps he was outside? But why would he be in need of his sprite for help?

"OKay lets get you outside at least. Hello flower it's good to see you." Her lips twisted into a tiny grin as she quickly hurried outside, leaving her books and study behind. Her eyes searched the darkness for Aysun, the vibrations in the ground she was able to pick up told her Tao had tagged along with the Janarim in the house.

Once they were outside Flower hopped off of Teiluj's hands, flying a couple circles around her, chirping at her again, before he went racing off in the direction that he'd left Aysun. He was relieved to see that he was still waiting for him on Maw's back. The little sprite landed on his shoulder, chattering at him in a concerned tone before he pointed back in the direction that he'd come from.

"I take it that you were able to find her? Good job, I am very proud of you." He said, kissing Flower a kiss on the head before he slid off of Maw's back, one hand for a moment curling against the point in his chest where the Alkidike woman had kicked him. It was, of all his injuries, really the only one that was bothering him at the moment. He was certain the others probably didn't look al that pretty, but they weren't hurting nearly as much. Hopefully Teiluj would be able to help him out at the moment since the only other person he might be able to seek aid from was Samoset and he was far from being useful or a healer.

Not only that but Aysun was sure that, if anything, Sam might just laugh because he'd gotten beat up by one of his sisters. He seemed to think well of them, likely due to being blinded by loyalty, but Aysun really didn't care for them at the moment.

Teiluj twirled in place so she could better keep her eyes on Flower. Feeling a little dizzy as the spite darted away from her. "Woah hey wait that's not fair!" Teiluj shouted starting off after the sprite pausing to glance back at the house with an apologetic glance before seeking out the sprite and once again giving chase.

Her breathing was heavy when she finally reached Aysun, bending over and huffing to catch her breath her hair spilled over her shoulders. Green eyes followed the feet of the Janarim up to meet Aysuns face. Unaware that Tao and the unnamed Janarim pup had followed suit. Gasping her hands flew up from her knees to cover her mouth. Reaching out she quickly covered the distance to his side, pausing briefly to regard Maw before offering her assistance in helping him off the Janarim.

"What happened to you!?"

Aysun gave a smile when he saw Teiluj even though half of his face was a little swollen and didn't smile as well as the rest. He was glad for the help down onto his feet though once there he leaned against Maw for a moment, "Hello, Teiluj! It's been a while." Though not all that long actually. It wasn't so long ago that he'd visited and one would almost think that he was making excuses to stop by at this point were it not for the fact that he'd rather have a better and less painful reason to stop by.

He looked himself over best he could and said, "I look that bad, huh? I kinda guessed I did since my face is a little achy, but at least I still have my teeth, right." He smiled, showing off that fact since he was proud of it. As she asked him what happened he seemed to debate over it for a moment, as though he wasn't sure he wanted to say. He didn't want to upset her by complaining about her people after all... but... it was what had happened, right? He looked at her a moment then lifted a hand, scratching against his uninjured cheek and said, "I sort of had a run in with some rather unhappy Alkidike ladies. I had heard they were moody latey but I guess I learned first hand how much a mood."

Teiluj sighed and gave a half chuckle, despite her concern. "My mother might start thinking you're up to something with how often you've stopped by lately." She was teasing him to lighten the mood and relax him a little and to keep herself from feeling panicked about the situation. Nodding her green eyes searched what she could see of his injuries. Smiling when he did to show his teeth. "Well that certainly is a plus, I don't imagine many people will be to pleased to have to mush food so you can eat."

Her eyes settled on the greater injury her eyes widened as she stepped forward. Stiffening at the mention of Alkidikes causing the problem. They really were growing in brutality if they were willing to strike out against anyone these days. Her eyes flew over his body mentally assessing each injury and in what order she should tackle the problem in. The one in his chest appearing to be the most critical of them all.

"I'm familiar with that sect of Alkidike." Teiluj nodded, reaching out to carefully touch the bruise on Aysuns chest her eyes narrowed. "Sorry this might hurt a little." Teiluj felt around as carefully as she could to determine just how deep the injury went. She had to know otherwise she would cause injury by trying to push her magic too deep. Or turn out to be ineffective if she didn't get quite deep enough. "I had a run in with them a while ago myself." Thankfully due to Nkoles help she had been able to recover better.

Aysun gave a laugh, "I would have to have to ask others to chew my food for me, I am not a little bird or something." He said, making a bit of a face, chuckled, then winced as he started to laugh, "Ow, ow... I think I should maybe try to keep from laughing until I get to feeling a bit better." He said to his friend, regretting laughing since it just made him ache a bit. He looked up at her again, watching as she set to looking him over, going for a moment quiet as she looked him over, wondering what the news might be, he was hoping that it wouldn't be anything too horrible since he didn't want people getting all riled up for his sake.

"You're familiar? Any idea what's wrong with them? I mean I know some of the women aren't too friendly, I've ran across those that gave me looks before, but never ones that would actually sucker punch me in a crowded place! I mean, geez! Do I really look like someone that they need to gang up on?" He asked of Teiluj, then gave a bit of a huffing sound, "They also seemed to think me some sort of Oban sympathizer on top of everything else because of Maw. Like I helped them out during the war or something... such a pain."

Giving a little nod Aysun lifted his hands up, resting them against Maw's side, holding onto him as she set to work with her magic. It felt... weird, really weird, as the magic seemed to be sinking into his flesh, inspecting him from the inside, "Huh? They went after you too? Huh.. yeah, I could see that... they seemed to hate me for being a Shifter and others just for existing. It's pretty weird if you ask me... being so hateful toward... well, everyone almost." He leaned back against Maw, letting his eyes close as she went about her inspection, doing his best to sit still even though it felt pretty weird.

Teiluj's antenna flicked one after the other as her magic settled around the worst of the injuries. She was trying to focus on what she was doing, glancing up every once in a while at the break of focus. "I hate to break this to you Aysun but you're an earthling. From what I gathered from when they ganged up on me an a shifter, they want Earthlings out of Jauhar. For good this time."

Retracting her fingers from Aysun's chest Teiluj straitened to look at him. "Please try to stay still, I'm not that talented that I can move with you." Pausing Teiluj rubbed her arm as she thought over Aysuns question. "Well Mamma says the youngest Mystic is leading them. Wanting to reclaim who they once were. I'm one of those they hate for just existing. Because they feel earthlings have invaded their sacred Isle it's time to push back. But that's just what mamma says."

Wincing Teiluj returned to the injury adding a little pressure as she struggled to send the healing deeper into the injury. "As for Maw, that's just dumb. You could have gotten it after the war for all anyone knows. There were traders going about selling them. That's how we ended up with..." Teiluj turned around at the sound of two familiar growls as Tao and the Janarm set to mock fighting each other. "... that thing." Teiluj muttered her antenna drooping against her head as she watched the two tussle in the grass.

Feeling her power surge a little Teiluj instantly retracted her hands incase she had caused Aysun pain. "Sorry, I don't have alot of control over this yet." She muttered, sad that she wasn't better at this but thankful she was able to help and gain more experience in healing others.

Aysun looked down at himself for a moment, then nodded, "I am most definitely an Earthling." He agreed, then sighed, "It's such a bother that we have to deal with all this, I was kind of excited when the war ended, it felt like maybe we might get to finally relax or something!" He wrinkled his nose at the thought, he had enjoyed the down time that he'd had. It had been nice! He'd been able to wander around and enjoy himself, play around with his friends, all that sort of thing! Now he would need to be all on guard again.

Glancing at Maw he nodded, "I mean, I know he's... a bit intimidating, but still, he's actually a really nice guy. Besides, despite... ahh... his former job he's retired now!" He complained, mostly to himself before looking over at janarim and radaku that Teiluj had pointed to, giving a bit of a smile, "I mean how could anyone be mad over a familiar, their cute!" In his mind though all animals were cute, even the ones giant.

He opened his eyes again, giving a bt of a squeak, when her magic suddenly gave a surge within him, something that was quite surprising but it... seemed to help? He blinked a couple times then said, "Ah, thanks, it actually kind of hurts less. It felt pretty weird... but still, thanks." He gave her a smile and a nod, lowering a hand to scratch it against his chest, as thought testing the area for any weakness or pain. It was kind of itchy, that itchy you got when something was healing thought so that was good at least.

Teiluj reached up to flick Aysuns ear, giving him a mild pout. Obviously he was an earthling, sadly her attempts at humor had failed her. Tilting her head as Aysun spoke of Maw Teiluj's antenna wiggled with interest. Reaching up Teiluj started to work on his swollen face. Before she worked her way across his other larger cuts. Leaving a strange sap like substance in her wake as she worked. "Sorry my magic is a little messy, this goop will help speed your healing." She paused giving him a hard look.

"Why didn't you ask your brother for help? He's gotta be a better healer than I am." Waiting a bit after feeling uncomfortable she had even asked, Teiluj quickly changed the subject. "What was maws previous job, you mentions he's retired." It was hard for Teiluj to imagine a Janarim old enough to be retired. From the stories she had heard Janarim didn't live to be old. They usually died in battles or were killed because their owners... just felt like it.

Aysun gave a jump, then a chuckle, as he was flicked in the ear, "Hey now, I'm injured! You should pity me, not flick me in the ear." He said, giving a little face, as though he was hurt, before giving a chuckle. Of course before he could be too amused he was getting some sort of sticky goop smeared across the area of his face where he'd gotten punched. It seemed that it would help to speed up the healing process? Smiling despite the salve he said, "That's good to hear, I don't want to risk being without my looks or something, that's how I get by!" Alright, not even close, but it sounded funny to him.

Glancing in the direction that home was, then back again, he said, "I checked with him first, but he wasn't at home... and I couldn't really go in and wait for him. Man... if my mother saw me like this she'd end up on the war path." He seemed to think about that for a moment before shaking his head rapidly, "I'd rather she not take up her hammer and head out to avenge me, it'd be a little on the embarrassing side, not to mention it might just cause things to escalate." Which he really didn't want either. Things were bad enough already if you asked Aysun. Giving Teiluj a smile he said, "So you saved me by being able to help me out, I mean if its just more minor wounds I can just pass it off as me having a training accident with one of my pets."

"Hm?" Aysun glanced at Maw for a moment, giving a thoughtful look, then said, "So long as you promise not to tell anyone I can tell you. I just don't want my mother freaking out, thinking that he's going to just randomly turn on me one day due to what he used to to do." That was just silly to think but he was sure that there would be those who would think such a thing possible, even from a loyal beast like Maw.

Once finished working on Aysuns wounds Teiluj leaned back. "Well in that case you better stay away from the house for a couple of hours. It will take that long before my magic has fully healed all your cuts and bruises. Especially that one." Teiluj pointed to the larger injury on his chest. Giving a chuckle at his comment. She wasn't so sure looks had much to do with how he got by but it was a funny way to look at it.

Tilting her head at the question of her ability to keep secrets Teiluj shrugged one shoulder as she looked off into the forest. "Who would I possibly have to tell anyway?" A breeze rushed through her hair giving it a push over her shoulders. Raising her hand Teiluj pushed the locks back over her shoulder.

"A couple hours?" He asked, tilting his head back for a moment, as though he were calculating that, "Well, if I am careful, and give it some time, I should be able to slip in under the cover of dark and head to bed without being noticed." He murmured, mostly to himself, before he gave Teiluj a smile and a nod. He should be alright, so long as he at least attempted to be somewhat sneaky... not something that he did often. Hard to sneak around when he moved from place to place with an army of various beasts after all.

Looking over toward Maw's face as he listened to Teiluj's next question the half Shifter gave a thoughtful sound in his throat before looking back her way again, "I... don't know? I guess I am just being really careful is all, trying to protect him. I am more then certain that if certain people knew that they'd try to kill him on principle without realizing that it's not like he got a choice in career, you know?" Something that he'd protect Maw from, those who would just see him as an Oban monster.

Turning slightly he set to petting Maw lightly and said, "Maw... used to be in the Oban army, he was one of their war beasts." He felt that of everyone that had seen Maw she was one of few he could actually tell, to this point he hadn't even told Sam or any of his family members, "I found him in Jauhar, not far from Neued. His rider... he was already dead. If I had to guess he was injured during the battle and the two retreated, trying to find somewhere to lay low until he could get to a healer, perhaps? Maw was guarding him, even after he passed." He rested his forehead against Maw's neck for a moment, hating the condition he'd found Maw in but he was looking far better these days and seemed happier as well.
