Many would be avoiding such a location. They would be moving away from the death trap that was the territory of beasts that no one would dare attack. But in this day where the sun was slowly beginning to set, and it was growing darker and darker out, a beast larger than most moved; silent and slow. He was trained to be an assassin; to attack from above and take down prey and enemies with a snap of his jaws and a slash of his claws. But right now he was not able to fly. The forest branches were too thick and made it hard for him to even spread his wings, which stayed folded tight to his sides to keep from getting in the way. His long tail dragged behind him, creating a small path of bent grass and broken twigs in his wake. But he was silent. Always silent.

Brynjar, the youngest child of the great Smaug and third heir to the Flight, had found something of interest. He had been flying days ago, curious as to what it was he could find to eat or to bring back to his father. He liked to give gifts to Smaug and Indra. It meant that he was in their favor, instead of being forgotten as the silent child. His wings shifted slightly at his side, making a small creak noise when the wood protested the shift. His tail tip gave a flick, and he paused to take in his surroundings. He had been stalking this small creature for the past couple weeks; following her and admiring her from afar. Perhaps it would be someone that he would keep and not give to Smaug. His claws tapped slightly at the ground, and he dipped his head as he walked under a low hanging branch and moved forward; farther and farther into the wooded area. She had come this way... He had seen the rabbit with wings move this way, and he needed to find her.

Of course he didn't know the full details. Feathers, horns, claws, and huge rabbit ears. But when he had seen her, Brynjar knew that she was stunning; she was lovely and perfect. And he wanted her. He wanted her more than anything. His tail flicked behind him as he moved forward, his claws breaking a few fallen twigs as he moved. He lifted his head, ears perking some as he looked around. He sniffed at the air and tilted his head this way and that. He needed to find her. He could smell where she had been; could smell where her trail left off. But he couldn't see her. He exhaled deeply, eyes narrowing some as he moved quietly forward. Brynjar could find her; he knew he could.

Xana Hatetalon:

For weeks now, the Talons had been preparing for this - capturing a dragon. As foretold by the Seer, Hex, his arrival had finally come. The details were only an approximation, so they had to implement finding the dragon the seer spoke of. Once found, the Northspring Harpies had stalked the large red dragon, learning everything they could about him. Then, they only had to wait for him to come close enough to their territory. They had woven tree and limp together, to assure the canopy was closed off, and that there's only one way in or out. The idea was to lure him there, then block off the entrance. Then a strike force would net the dragon, and weigh down his wings. They had even practiced, by chasing a few others into the tunnel. Tweaks were made where needed afterwards. And now he had come! The orders had been called, the trap had been set, and the bait let loose.

Xana silently stood in the shadows of the trees, waiting for the right time to move out. She had seen the decent of the dragon after he noticed her, and made her way deeper in the forest. The plan was to beeline towards the inner working of the forest trap, but make sure he knew she's still here first. They couldn't have him loosing interest and turning around.

There was no smell of fear, only the smell of a warm and nutty perfume. Her sisters had quickly bathed her in oils and herbs, that they thought a dragon might find appeasing. Today Xana's shoulders were armor-less, nor did she wear any jewelry that could link her to her affiliation with the harpys. Only a beautiful bird, ready to lure her prey. A sister silently nodded at her in the shadows, and she responded with a nod, saying she was ready.

Now

Xana zipped out of the side of the trees a good distance in front of the large beast, and stopped for a fleeting moment. She gave a look filled with surprise and fear, as if she had been caught! Feigning being startled, she flitted further into the trees, in the direction she wanted him to follow...down the corridor of knotted tree branches and barred off tree trunks.

A giggly laugh echoed back towards him, as the game of cat and mouse progressed. The laugh was real. Xana was filled with excitement, and found that she was enjoying the game of the hunter pretending to be hunted.

A beam of sunlight lit up the end of the treeline. A hole in the canopy, only big enough to let the light in to frame the subject matter, Xana. Arriving on her mark, she looked up to the light, and shook out her feathers and braid. Waiting for her new friend to arrive, she turned and batted her eyes, blushing and looking shy. Her skin glistened from the oils as she shifted her weight from one leg to the other.

Everyone had fallen dead quiet, after the Windcaller made her shriek, miles before the dragon arrived. Windcallers had been stationed at different spread out junctions, and called when the Queens daughter drew near. Their cry, easily could be mistaken for a shrill bird. If they wanted, their cry could pierce the ear of the enemy. This call was masked to sound less suspicious.

The force had moved quickly and silently in to place, bringing only what they needed. Her lord queens assembled forces waited quietly hidden in branches. With Captains on the ground, ready to push on foot, should things turn sour. Fighters were ready with net, chains, and leaden weights attached to ropes or clamps. Tools of the trade, used to capture the unwilling. In this case, the unsuspecting. Edana too lay in wait with the ground force, her armor making her well equipped for close combat.

A claw tightened around a clod of earth. The anticipation hung in the air, thick as parchment. Edana listened with intent, to the sounds of the forest. Uncanny silence. No bird sung its song, nor did any creature skitter on the forest floor.

Edana thought after Xana. A mothers pride, for the one that helped to draw the bait closer to the trap. Xana had spent days seeking him out, and bringing him home.. An only child in her eyes, and so far had proven her worth. (The other offspring being a stallion, that didn't exist in her eyes.)

Edana held up a claw, as she heard someone approaching. Its Xana, with the look that would start it all. Nobody needed to say anything to those around her. They knew he was close. Only a few glances about were exchanged to one another.

The taste of battle hung on Edana's lips. With baited breathe, she waited. Eager for her forces to strike. Her armor was heavy, yet she held-fast, not so much as shifting from the armaments weight.

They all continued to wait for the right moment, for Xana to make an appearance one last time. Do not fear, the blood of the dragon. her own words echoed in her mind. Words she had repeated many times to her sisters. A Hatetalon, shows no fear; feels no fear.

When Xana continued further into the illusion of the tunnel, Edana smiled when she heard her giggle echo through the woods. Do not fear, the blood of the dragon.

The very forest seemed to ebb over the tunnel, as the Northspring Harpy waited for the right moment. Edana couldn't see or hear anything yet. For such a large dragon, he was unbelievably quiet. An eyebrow cocked. Not impressive, but at the least, interesting. She wasn't so easily impressed. Even if a soquili bigger than an elephant was tromping through the woods without so much as breaking a twig.

Do not fear, the blood of the dragon...

"Dragons." Dragoona hissed lightly, her claws racking in the dirt and leaves of the forest.

The newly acquainted Hatetalon hadn't expected to be asked to help with this. A dragon capture; and not just any dragon, a massive dragon. A dragon so large that he had to duck to get through some parts of the forest. A dragon so huge that he towered over even their queen; possibly even their prized Walker. And that was saying something! She had remembered scouting with some of the others to see just how he appeared, and he seemed to be skilled; both in hunting and sneaking. It was going to be tricky. But when they found out he liked pretty little things, it became a lot easier. Dragoona wasn't certain what it was she was going to do to help, but she was there, and she was ready. Something had been mentioned about assisting with holding the nets down to keep the beast from flying, but what if he just beat his wings and knocked them all back. She frowned at the thought, before shaking her head and pushed it aside.

They would succeed. They had to. To please Edana. After all, she would be rather upset if they failed. And by rather, she meant extremely. To the point someone would be punished, she was certain. The thought made her ears pin and she bared her teeth in a frustrated look. No. No they wouldn't fail. They couldn't. That wouldn't pass and it wouldn't be accepted. They had to capture this beast and make sure they did so without damaging him too much; if at all. She tapped her claws lightly against the ground, before tilting her head toward where Xana was going to be positioned. Hopefully he wouldn't hurt their princess. That would be even worse than failing to capture the red dragon. Dragoona was certain someone would die if that were to happen.

Moving slowly forward, the Hippogryph paused near where Edana was. Their queen. Their ruler. The one who wanted this creature in the first place. The dark colored mare glanced at her with bright blue eyes, before looking back toward where the trap was. Her ears perked some at Xana's laughter, trill and excited. She flicked her own tail, feathers and tendrils falling around her back hooves. Maybe this could work. She dipped her head down for respect of her Queen before speaking in a hushed tone. "Do you think this will work, my Queen?" She said softly. She glanced toward where the dragon was sure to enter the view, curiously watching to see if he'd come forward. Hopefully he wouldn't be too much of a threat and not everyone would be injured... That would be bad.

Brynjar paused during his walk. There was something.. off. Something different about this. Something off and dangerous and... It made his senses flare and his eyes flicker along the forest. Something was out there. He heard a bird cry, ears snapping up and his head lifting some as he looked around. What was going on? There was something around here that made his scales crawl. He bared his fangs some, showing he was a threat. If something was around that would try to attack him, they'd know he was ready. He flashed his claws across the dirt, wings flaring for a second before folding tight against his side once more. When nothing happened, he moved forward again, slow and careful, not making a sound. His training seemed to assist far more than he thought it would. He swung his head to the side, peering through the trees, and then looked back forward once more. It was then that he saw the flash of cream, and his orange eyes locked on the creature that moved.

There she was. His pretty little rabbit. His ears snapped up and he watched as she stopped to stare at him as though scared. He tilted his head in response, blinking curiously before breathing heavily out of his nose. When she fled again, he followed, and this time more unaware. He was distracted now, and when he snapped a few twigs and broke a branch he didn't seem to mind. She knew he was there; what was the point of hiding? His tail flicked behind him as he ducked down into a corridor of sorts, made of tree branches and trunks. He paused at the entrance to stare around the area, uncertain for a second, before he pushed forward, his claws pulling up grass and broken branches. His wings folded tighter against his form so as not to get caught on anything. He could catch her; he just had to get closer. She seemed to be watching him as well, a look on her features that seemed almost shy. He was curious why, but didn't bother to thump his tail to greet her.

Brynjar just had to get close enough to wind his claws around her and get her back to the Flight. It wouldn't be that hard, right?

Xana Hatetalon:

There he was. So many emotions hung in the air. Even though the battle wasn't over, the prelude was already won. The dragon was here, and his decent into the trap was nearing completion. Even if he were to turn around, preparations were already in place if such an event were to arise. The length of the tunnel had many stages, and from her judgement, he was already two thirds of the way there.

Xana flared her nostrils, and whinnied. Even if she wanted to escape, at this point, there was no turning back! Her front hooves danced around nervously, as she flipped her braid to her back side. Playing the part like a star, she absorbed herself into her role of playing the startled victim. The stage was set, now it was only to wait and continue her display. Feathers rustled like the wings of a bird wanting to take flight. Her heart raced as her chest heaved from her fast paced breathing. It appeared as if she would turn to one side, but she only stepped back into the same spot. Fidget, fidget, fluff, fluff.

Come closer my Red Friend. she thought to herself with glee, as she squinted her eyes to hide the delight that might glow through them. She sighed seductively, and opened her eyes, batting them a bit as the "forest" lay in wait to shut the final gate behind him.

A little closer...

"Oh!" she looked up, as if searching for a way to escape.

When he was close enough, there would be a bait and switch. Below her feet, was a small dark pit in the brush behind her. It was bound with rock, like a rabbit hole. Once in, they would close her off to the world, to get what they all came here for.

User Image Edana held her breath for a moment, with knees slightly bent. Any veteran warrior who stood for long periods, knew that if you locked your knees, you would pass out. That would be devastating to a silent stealth mission, such as this. Luckily, the clan practiced standing at attention. Those that ever fainted, were stood on the edge of the roost, and made to stand attention for one moon cycle. Only those that had burned away the queens favor, were ever made to stand multiple moons.

Edana was gritting her teeth so hard her jaw would be sore. Only when she heard Dragoona's hushed whisper, did she relax her teeth. She didn't respond, but gave a complex look crossed between them not failing, or perhaps it was a look of her enjoying the consequences to those that caused the failure. The spirits had gone overboard with confidence when the ivory Queen had been born. Never did she doubt herself, or the actions of things that played out around her. There was only one way for her; her way. The other option, grim and painful, sometimes deadly. The claw she reigned with didn't need to be raised often. She had already proven her worth as a Queen when the Northspring clans had come together. One by one, she challenged each leader in battle, and won.

A spear slid into her claw, as things were set into motion. Edana did not plan on playing nice. She would advance with force, spiked armor ready to be her secondary weapon.

Xana Hatetalon:

So close... If she stretched out her wing, she felt she could touch him as he approached, bridging the final distance. The smell of brimstone and something spicy and warm delighted her sense. The dragon had a nice smell.

"Please! Uhh!" she gave an exasperated damsel in distress plea. She shuttered, and appeared as if she was going between fright, and flirting. A sweet shy, that had been reserved just for him.

A final, lasting impression. Her eyes beamed through her bangs, framing the most devilish smile. Much different from the shy flirty ones. This was the curtain call. And then that was it. Before he could touch her, she bolted into her hole in a flash, leaving but a single feather floating in the air. That too, was part of the act. One loan feather, unpreened, so that she could flick it off at just the right moment. She really was enjoying this far too much, to the point where she dreamed about and acted out all the finer details.

The hole was incredibly snug. More than once, she had scraped her antlers while wiggling into it's confinement, during practice runs. It had caused them to throb and ache where they sat attached to her head. This time, she folded her ears and tilted her head just right, to slide in with ease. Behind her, a pulley shifted on its axle, intended to slam a wrought wood and metal woven door. The axle was jammed by a stray twig though, and hung at only a quarter of the way shut.

This was unexpected.

When the mare kept moving forward, Brynjar continued to advance. She was perfect… That was inevitable in his eyes. Perfection in the form of a petit little being. His wings beat for a moment at his sides, and he lowered his head some to be almost eye level with her, fangs bared slightly. His tail gave a slight flick behind him, and after a few seconds, he stopped moving. Mid tunnel, he stared ahead of himself and toward the mare that seemed to be torn between flirting and being terrified. His slit eyes flitted around from the mare and then toward the high trees. He frowned some, folding his wings tight against his sides. In this tunnel, he wouldn’t be able to flare his wings. Wouldn’t be able to escape. He tilted his head to the side and frowned, his eyebrows pulling together. The feathers at his head seemed to ruffle slightly in irritation. This didn’t feel right… Didn’t feel like it was going to end well. He pondered backing off now, and then she made a noise.

No, he had to have her.

The dragon blew air from his nose quickly, releasing an almost huff of a noise. He moved forward again, dipping his head and folding his wings tight in order to fit through the tunnel. As soon as he made it to the dome like area, he glanced around, pausing with one claw raised. His wings spread for a moment, stretching, before folding once more. This was odd… Why would there be a dome in the woods? He glanced toward the mare again, staring toward her with interest, before moving forward. And then she gave him a look that made his heart thrum in his chest. What was she up to… Suddenly, without him knowing what was going on, she was darting, moving toward something in the back. And then she was gone, and the grate that he saw made his eyes narrow and his fangs bare. She was playing him! And that wasn’t safe. Brynjar had a temper, and he wouldn’t allow it.

The dragon reared up on his hind claws, slashing at the air with power and irritation, before landing back down with an earth shaking thump. He beat his wings, his tail lashing behind him as he bared fangs and glared toward the mare. She dared to try and play him?! Brynjar, son of the might Smaug! She had another thing coming. He charged toward the grate, his claws outstretched. When he finally got close enough, he curled his claws of one leg around the grate and gave a hard tug, baring his fangs angrily down at her and glaring with irritation. How dare she even attempt such a thing!

Dragoona wasn’t certain what exactly was going to happen. She’d never been near a dragon before, despite her name and coloration. Perhaps one of her parents was part dragon… She had no idea. But the being before them was… massive. Huge in bulk and mass. He took over so much space that it was shocking to see the way he moved with grace and quietness. Her eyes flickered along his scales and the tree bits that seemed to grace his wings. His parents must have been very strong as well. She flexed her claws in the ground, drawing up dirt and grass as she watched the way the dragon moved toward their trap. Her eyes flickered toward her Queen, staring for several quiet seconds before she focused once more on the target. He seemed to be confused as to what was going on, or was he figuring it out. She hesitated for a moment, uncertain as to if the dragon was going to retaliate.

But then he moved forward, and she grinned. Her tail gave a small flick behind her, and her claws dug in harder. Dragoona had always loved the hunt, had always enjoyed being able to run forward and dig her claws into things. But she had to restrain herself, she couldn’t attack him. Couldn’t take him down with blood and ripped wings. No, the Queen wanted him intact. So she had to be very careful. Her ears pinned for a moment as she looked up toward the queen. She could not disappoint her… refused to. If she did, it could mean her life. She slunk away from her quietly, moving over toward some nets that had been laid out for the beast.

He was almost there… The beast was almost to the capture point. Soon their princess would turn tail and run to her safety spot, and be able to be out of the way till the beast was captured. Dragoona almost chirped from excitement. Her ears swiveled, eyes turning toward the queen for a split second. And in that split second, something went wrong. Her attention drew back toward their princess, and it seemed like Xana was ready. She dropped a feather, and bolted. And when she finally reached her safe spot, the girl was in trouble. She was trapped in her cage, without the bars closed. Which meant that the beast could get to her. Dragoona’s eyes flitted to the queen quickly, before she looked once more toward the dragon. He could kill her, kill her with one powerful strike of his claws. And if they didn’t do something quickly, he just might. The Hippogryph danced on her claws in her spot, waiting for the signal from the queen to do something, anything, to help their trapped princess.

User ImageExpect the unexptected. Edana Hatetalon didn't miss a beat when the gate didn't close to the harpy made dugout, hallowed to the size for one Xana. She was on the move, before the command left her mouth. The steel pointed pole staff at her feet, was in her mouth as she moved. The display of the dragon was mighty, and she cared not. While his focus was on plucking the rabbit from it's hole, she moved in around him. Swiftly, before he made his first grasp of the cage door, she was at his side. A small mighty warrior, in comparison to the beast she advanced past. The command still wasn't given. Everything was improv at this moment, in order to protect Xana. Even if she gave the command, she could still be hurt. If that could be avoided, the day would be better won for the sisters. Casualties were part of war after all. But the only daughter from her first brood, wasn't something she was ready to give up. A few guards saw her advance, and flanked her on either side from out of the hidden sidelines.

When his claw grasped the gate, it creaked in protest to his mighty grip. Edana launched forward, in attempts to spear above his claw, with a strong graze of it's flesh. She didn't want to enforce his grip by piercing through it, and the gate. Xana joined in, stabbing the under side of his claw with a dagger. Expect the unexpected. She had nestled the dagger into her braid, just in case.

The spear snapped a third of the way up, and Edana fell to one knee, holding the rest of the pole up, she swung wide and struck his chin. The spear shattered from the hard blow, with a loud CRACK. The Queen screeched at an ear piercing height, finally giving the command. The two guards at her side closed in around Edana, spiked armor bared. Edana hissed and scratched at the earth, pushing towards the dragon with her spiked side. "Not today, DRAGON!" The word dragon sputtered from her mouth in a pissed off rage, hopefully distracting him as the force of harpy came down around him.

Three nets were launched, one after the other. The forest came alive with feather and quick movements. Clamps with weighted stones pierced the flesh of wings. Rope and stone swung round massive legs, in attempts to draw the beast down. Net and rope went around his head, and was flung under his feet towards his backside. If you could imagine a reverse hog tie. You couldn't flip a beast of this size. You had to tie him up where he stood. Where any mare got knocked down, another was there to take her place. Backups, of backups. Spears were used all around, to try and keep him where they wanted him. If need be, they would stick him a few times. Flesh healed.

They used the rage of the dragon to their advantage. Any time he lashed out, they were there to try and make his movements more cumbersome. He can still lift a wing, tie it up more. He can still gnash his teeth, tie it up more... Through blood and sweat, they would give their all to catch him.

Brynjar was pissed. And that was an understatement. The dragon beat his tail slightly against the ground, his claws tightening around the bars. She dared do this to him? Dared to trick him. His eyes narrowed some, and, baring his fangs, he wretched again at the bars, hearing them creak in protest at the motion. He leaned his head down somewhat toward the mare, narrowing his eyes dangerously. As soon as he got her out, he would show her the wrath of a dragon.

That was, until he heard something to his side. The dragon lifted his head and looked to the side, before a surprised look crossed his face for a millisecond. He was about to lash his tail toward the creatures, his tail skirting the ground quickly. And then something sharp against his the palm near his claws. He jerked his leg back, taking a half step back before feeling spears moving against his sides. But as soon as he backed up, he felt something against his jaw that made his head snap to the side. He side stepped and turned his head quickly toward the mare that seemed to be all too ready to assault him. He bared his fangs and tried to lash his sharp claws at her, beating his wings in threat. She wanted to come at him, then he would show her just how powerful he was.

The dragon didn’t expect it though. Didn’t expect all these mares to come at him. Didn’t expect to feel spears at his sides and sharp claws against his scales. He lashed at several of them, shoving them out of the way and lashing his tail this way and that to beat other Soquili away. He was able to rip his fangs through the throat of one of the sisters, easily taking one down. He felt the spikes at his side and made a move to bite at the white mare, but was met with a spiked back that made him back up. What was that? Was she part dragon? He eyeballed her for a moment, backstepping before snapping his fangs toward her in threat.

It didn’t last long though. Within seconds he felt the nets, and he was able to beat his wings enough to knock a few back. But then weights were placed on his wings, and his wings were unable to lift. He glanced back and tried to bite at the nets, but one went around his mouth, and he had to lift a claw to get it off. It didn’t take long, but soon his legs were tied. He kept trying to bite and claw his way from the ropes, but soon enough he was unable to beat his wings and was losing his balance. He swung his tail one last time, hitting another mare hard enough to knock her down, before he felt his balance gone, and fell to his side with a loud thump. He struggled some and bared his fangs toward the sisters, thrashing and trying to get free of the binds that traced along his legs and wings.

Dragoona wasn’t certain what was going on. This was bad. This was very bad. She paced slowly back and forth, watching the dragon moving closer and closer to their princess. Xana wouldn’t survive if she was caught in a hole with a dragon. She flexed her claws, and then it was there. The motion to have them move forward. She fluffed her feathers somewhat, before letting out a loud shriek of a noise and lunging forward. She was certain that this dragon was going to be strong, stronger than anyone else around them, stronger than anyone they’ve ever faced. And it kind of intimidated her. But, she had to try. She had to do well for her queen and to prove that she was worthy of being part of the Hatetalons.

The dark coated mare moved forward swiftly. She couldn’t get as high in the trees as her sisters, but she could try to get an advantage from down low. She moved forward with some of the nets, dodging around the tail and lashing claws. One strong hit and she could go down quickly. She hissed toward him, letting out chirps and slashing her own claws when he got too close to her. She didn’t want to get hit, and it would make her life a lot more difficult if she did. After a moment, she shoved the net up into the air, hoping that it hooked just right.

And when it did, she grinned. The net snagged on the bark along his wings, and seemed to disable one easily. She ducked and dodged around his tail once more, running off and toward the safety of the trees. She was able to snag a spear, moving back forward carefully. She watched as the beast struggled and flailed, his tail lashing out and slapping sisters down quickly. He was so strong! She glanced toward their queen, trying to see what it was that the plan was. And when she saw that he was falling, she braced herself and the spear in case she needed to stab at him to get him down more.

Dragoona paused when she noticed him flailing on the ground. Her head tilted to the side, and she frowned a bit toward him. Her eyes narrowed some, and she snorted, before moving over to where their princess was. She worked the gate open, so that Xana could get out, before moving back over toward their queen, her eyes flickering along the mare before looking once more toward the dragon on the ground, breathing heavy and angrily. ”… What now, M’Lady? How are we going to move the beast to the pit and not let you know who see him? I don’t believe he will move easily…” She murmured softly, dipping her head toward the queen.

Xana wanted to get out of this hole. It felt like bad things would happen if she stayed cornered here. She felt exposed, and for the first time in her life, in danger. As soon as she heard her queens voice, it reassured her. In a flit, she escaped from the horn, banging her antler on her way out. Quickly, she moved out from in front of the way, and caught a spear in her mouth as it was thrown to her. One of the sisters saw her emerge, and armed her, giving up their own spear. The distraction proved fatal for the guard. Moments after she was smiling at Xana, blood sprayed from her neck as the red maw of the dragon ripped at her throat. Xana gasped, but didn't stop to become his second victim, if she let herself be equally as distracted.

Lifting the spear up, she pushed towards him, backing out when limp or tail lashed her way, then pushing back in. Even though he had done damage to their numbers, she didn't have the rage inside of her for revenge. He didn't ask for this, so she would do her job, without anger.

"More rope!" She yelled as she dropped her spear to grab one of the ropes. A few mares tossed to the side like rag dolls, as their prey rolled around in attempts to escape. Xana had to take the place of one, or they would of lost this side. Such strength, to be able to lift the weight of so many, while half pinned down. Adrenaline had to play some part too, to make the strong beast, even stronger.

The struggle seemed to move forward in slow motion, even if it was only minutes. The great beast began to fall. "Move!" she yelled to the mares on the other side. She had both her claws wound tight around the rope, and held on for as long as she could, to try and soften his fall. As did all the other mares on her side. One lost her grip, and ended up face planting on the side of the dragon as he fell over. Xana laughed in her head, as the mare panicked and scurried off of him like a field mouse. The very touch of him, sending fear into her. Not every sister was fearless. They still followed orders, because they had a greater fear. Either way, he couldn't hurt her. Not now. Xana didn't fear either, but respected them both on different levels. Yes, she respected the dragon.

"Thank you for following me here, and thank you for being our prisoner." she whispered over him to herself, with a grin of success.

She moved around the felled dragon, to stand near her flock sister, Dragoona.

Blood and destruction, shall be our honor. was a common phrase exchanged during war, or after a battle. Today though, the phrase didn't seem appropriate. It wasn't war, when then assaulted party didn't have a chance to attack back. Xana mused for a quick second over what to say in this instant.

"Honor to those that helped to vanquish the beast." she said with a dip and a nod to each mare around her. "And to our fallen." she said with a glance back at the limp corpse on the ground.

She awaited her queens next command.
