It wouldn't be long before Riley was rested and healed up from her last attempt at her final adventure, laden now with bandage rolls to last her a millenium. She also had food, but that was a given for any trip. And she had her trusty horse, Jericho, who was already looking like he was about ready to abandon her before she could even start the journey.
How had she come across such a fickle horse, in her travels? She should have been able to teach him better, if he was really hers. "Were you always mine, Jericho?" She asked him, patting his mane gently. It soothed his itch to abandon her, long enough that they were able to get through the first leg of the journey without incident.

She spent the first few hours of her journey thinking about what her past could have been like. She wondered if she had been an entertainer, but quickly brushed that idea away considering the knowledge of how shy she was. She knew she couldn't have been a healer, either, because touching people - and being touched - reviled her. What could she have done, that kept her from being touched her entire life? Was there even such a job in existence? Perhaps she did not have a job - perhaps she was a beggar, who sat in the streets and begged shamefully for money. The idea of beggars did not disgust her, as she thought it should have. There was likelyhood in that option. As she continued to muse on the possibilities of her past, her present loomed ahead of her - in the form of a giant ravine, which she fell down instantly. Step One Quote: Rolling a 1: You accidentally slip, almost fall to your demise off a mountain cliff, and drop some of the food! Roll 1d6 to see how much food you lost.

Climbing back up the ravine had been difficult, but she was getting used to the feel of rock roughing up her formerly unsullied hands. The callouses that had hardened against her fingertips kept her pain to a minimum, and she pulled herself back up the cliff edge and laid there for a moment to catch her breath. She felt Jericho's hot huff of breath snorted at her hair, and lifted her head to stare at him. "I'm fine." She told the horse, as if it cared. Moments later, she was slowly climbing back up onto him, stretching the aches of her fall away as he carefully plodded ahead. QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 34 YOUR HP: 30

As gentle and kind as Jericho had been for the first leg of the trip, Riley would once again be reminded of the fickle nature of her horse of choice. She had dismounted to pick a bouquet of particularly beautiful flowers from the edge of the path, and in doing so, she'd given Jericho the freedom to head off on his own. Of course, he took it, because he loved a quick solo romp. She was left to walk the path, picking flowers as she went. Step Two reroll Quote: Rolling a 3: Your horse gives up on you, running away. The peace of her journey was not meant to last, and soon she was running from snakes that had come slithering towards her after she'd triggered a trap holding them at bay. She kept the flower bouquet safe, even as she ran away from their snapping fangs and slithering tongues. When she finally arrived at the mountain, Jericho was already there waiting for her. She patted his mane, and began to long climb upward. She reached the highest summit, and dusted herself off, before picking up her newest, and final artifact. Placing it on her body felt like completing a long term goal, and she came down from the mountain just a little more confident as a result. The eagles that attacked her every step as she tried to get down the mountain could sense her confidence, and worked to take it from her. They failed.
