After all those fights, it only made sense that one would seek proper headwear. Jake himself wasn't really one for helmets, but, well, if it prevented one from NOT DYING a little longer, and lessened the possibility of dying from head trauma, perhaps a helmet would come in hand. Though... he wasn't sure how effective a wooden helmet would be, especially with all those fires... and not even the "Greater Helmet of the Oak" as a name gave it much reassurance. Sure, the Oak was a sturdy tree, but... all trees were pretty flammable.
Maybe... it was special? Artifacts suitable for the Great King could only be of the finest quality, possibly imbued with magic to make it even more resistant than its normal counterparts, and it was with this Jake reassured himself it would be worth the trouble.QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 30 YOUR HP: 30/30

Leaving Camelot, Jake continued to fret about the state he had left everything in when he encountered a wild snake. Well, he supposed snakes could be native to mountainous regions?

Aside from the snake, Jake reached the Winding Forest relatively intact, and decided to pause for a break. One couldn't keep up an adventure on an empty stomach!
However, there was something about food attracting giant spiders, and Jake freaked out when he nearly ate one. Again.

Worrying about Camelot was important and all, but it was something to be done when his life wasn't in constant peril. Seriously, he needed to learn his priorities.

Setting out once again, Jake made an effort to pay attention to his surroundings.
However, this was on thing no amount of outlook could prepare him for.

Jake was going to see this quest through one way or another. EVEN IF IT KILLED HIM.
... hopefully it wouldn't kill him, because dying on a journey to retrieve a wooden helmet, no matter how magical was extremely lame, and he had much more to do with his life... which mostly pertained to fighting shadowlings until he died. Which was highly probable.
Of course, that wouldn't happen if he kept nearly dying and getting sick. STOP DYING AND GETTING SICK.
