Yo.

No posting. My inbox is always open if you want to discuss anything that I have posted here.

This should go without saying, but please do not leave comments on my profile related to anything said here, or link to/discuss this thread with anyone outside of the guild.

Thanks.

I might as well re-introduce myself. My original intro here is buried in the intro thread in the main forum by now.

I go by Val. I am in my mid-twenties and I identify as male. I always played male roles in games as a young child because that was always how I best enjoyed myself, but I have been openly identifying and referring to myself as male since I was around ten years old. To the people that I have divulged this information to, the typical response is, "so, you are trans, then?"

I guess? Technically?

Out of partial laziness and partial unwilllingness to say anything more about myself to some people, I usually leave it at "yes". However, I have never viewed it that way and I do not call myself trans-anything around my friends, despite that being the term that seems to cover people who identify as a separate gender.

I just identify as male.

I have no intention of having top or bottom surgery. I have considered binding but I choose not to. Very few people at work (a veterinary hospital that is run by people who are heavily involved in Christian church) know this about me. Those that do have been understanding. I have opened up to some of my immediate family members and a few other relatives and I have not been met with negativity there, either. In short, I have not (yet) been put in a position where I have felt judged, abused, or in any way mistreated for being who I am.

Identifying as male in real life

My experience is likely vastly different from those who attempt to/do pass, or those who are more straightforward about being referred to and/or living as they identify themselves.

As mentioned above, some of my coworkers know that I identify as male, but none of them use male pronouns when referring to me. It makes it easier to not have to explain myself 9001 times a day, and definitely prevents the risk of confusing or upsetting clients who are just their to get their dog or cat taken care of.

It is the same way with my family. Those that I am close to know but use female pronouns to make things simple for everyone but they are accepting. My sister told me that my niece could be raised to call me Aunt or Uncle, but I had to choose one and stick with it. I chose Aunt, again, to make things easier on everyone, including myself.

I do expect my friends to refer to me as male when talking to each other, but I do not mind if they use female pronouns when talking about me to their parent, or anyone outside of our circle. Again, convenience.

Identifying as male online

The way I approach things online vs. in real life is greatly different. Online, there is no reason for anyone not to refer to me as male. My avatar is male and I have not said anything anywhere outside of this guild to give the impression that I am anything but that. That said, a lot of the people that I talk to on a regular basis know that I am physically female. It is kind of easy to figure that out when they hear me on Skype, anyway.

I feel like I get away with my typical writing style better with being perceived as male, as well. A lot of women who type in a similar manner are seen as aggressive or mean.

I have not been eating or drinking properly since Tuesday. I realize that it is harmful to myself but sometimes I forget (I am not hungry), and other times I just cannot be bothered.

This season of Orange is the New Black is really sad. I have a lot of questions that I hope get answered by the end.

Mental illness sucks.

I am still not even sure what is wrong with me. I know the symptoms that I have, but it is so early that it could potentially lead to anything.

My coworker did not realize that I had some things going on with me, and made a joke today when I sharply turned toward a sound I thought I was hearing. "Are you hearing things, Rockstar?"

Yes, actually. Yes, I am hearing things.

It is hard to get into the facility that I go to, mostly because a lot of other people need help and they are short staffed. So much so, even, that it is hard to get through on the phone to make an appointment.

I never brought up with them that I identify as male but do not plan to transition. I wonder how that conversation would go.

I hate my name. It is not how feminine it is, rather how it does not seem to fit.

I do not even remember making the previous post. The timestamp suggests that I was up rather late, though.

Edit: Removed the rest of this post because I asked about it in a thread on reddit and I do not want my accounts here and there linked by someone who just happened to see both things.

Overtime money is nice. Overtime body aches is not. Petsitting money is nice. Petsitting on top of pulling overtime at work is death.

Every day this week has been Monday for me. Luckily I have tomorrow off.

Tomorrow is going to be spent going through my inbox and resolving hacking reports. I wish I could get through them faster.

I look like awful s**t today and I feel worse.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 23, 2015 3:51 pm

I am covered in bruises and scrapes and I look like I fell down a set of stairs.

I am also dreading next month.

Pet/Housesitting from 2-15/16 September.
19-21 September at a second job.
30Sept/1 October - 10/11 October at a third job.

Should be getting roughly $500 for everything if it all pans out, but this is on top of my 40+ hour weeks at my main job.

I just did ten nights/eleven days at the house I am going to be at during the first half of September and I was feeling miserable and homesick by the end of it. They are maybe five or six miles from my day job, so there is that.

The main bonus for the third job is that they are not even a mile away from my job. I could probably walk to and from there with ease. I live 25 miles from where I work, otherwise. I kind of wish I had a bike, though, because it is hot and humid as ******** here in Florida.

The third job wanted 17-27 September instead, which overlapped the one that I already agreed to and I ended up having to decline them. They are literally a ten to fifteen minute walk from work, compared to the 45+ minute drive between work and home, so it sucked to lose that job. They called back asking if they could get the first half of September, but I already doing that job. They then said at drop off that I could go pick up Bandit, their dog from the other place if I had some free days to take him. I am a bit scared that my dog would accidentally hurt him because he is 60lbs heavier.

The larger dog at my current job, who is a bit aloof, shared the bed with me last night. It was nice, as I miss my own large bed-sharing dog at home.

I did get the week of Thanksgiving booked and they are supposedly fairly close to work, too (even closer than where I am currently staying is). I am still debating on what I am going to ask for, price wise. I do think that I need to start charging new clients a holiday fee.

Mentally, I think/hope that I am doing okay. Even with three dogs here, it sort of gets lonely.

One of the dogs from the 1-15 September job is now dead. I am not sure how I feel about it.

I found out what the mental issues I was having was the result of.

Hello schizophrenia.

Petsitting is busier this year.

I am so tired.
