Her daughter had told her of the issues many of her sisters had been having with the shifters, skirmishes that had broken out for stupid reasons. It had Briella on high alert, with her blades at her side at all times. Although she didn't want to be that kind of sister, the kind that over reacted and hurt someone for no reason, she also didn't want to be defenseless if a fight did happen.

She was walking the shores of jauhur closest to the isles, just keeping an eye out. Although part of her felt she was protecting the isle from earthlings that would do it harm, another part of her knew she was there to warn earthlings that meant no harm that if they got any closer they could be in danger. It did make her wonder whose side she was on, but she was trying her hardest to not pick a side. She would have to sooner rather then later, but the longer that she could put it off the better.

As Alassiel drew closer to her home excitement and fear had mingled in her belly and made her a bit more antsy than usual. Her encounter with an Alkidike that night had not helped with her feelings either. What if she came home to find out that her family was nowhere to be found? Raided by the Akidikes they had moved on to a safer place, but that meant leaving their family tree behind. These rumors were getting to her which meant she wanted to try and get home faster, so Alassiel had tried to take a shorter path which took her closer to Alkidike territory than she liked.

The Shifter had been following the shores of Jauhar for some time now, once she found the river that she wanted Alassiel would follow it back into the jungle and towards her home. As she spotted the opening of said river she also spotted someone else, another Alkidike. Alassiel had no wish to get into a physical fight, especially as this one was wielding blades, but she did want to get to that river. Tugging Raysh along, Alassiel grabbed her own trident and began to walk towards the Alkidike. There was no way she could get to the river without passing the girl.

Briella stood pacing the beach, happy that she was bored and that nothing was happening. Although it was rather boring, she preferred that to fighting and mayhem. She was beginning to think she could go home, that the beach was safe, until she spotted a shifter walking towards her, a trident in her hand. Briella frowned. She did not want to fight, at all, but it didn't look like this earthling felt the same way.

Unsure of what to do she called out towards the girl. "Hello there. These beaches aren't too safe for your kind." she said, hoping that she didn't sound threatening. She was aware that the words could come off that way but she needed the girl to understand. She would hate for something bad to happen to shifter because she wasn't firm enough.

I don't know why I put spear, I was thinking of Zuri, she has blades! Just so you know.

The words made her pause, was it unsafe for her because the other girl was going to attack her or were they unsafe in some sort of general term. Alassiel watched the girl, wondering if she should continue or tell the other girl what her plans were. She didn’t exactly want to tell the Alkidike that she was alone, nor did she want to tell her she was on her way to see family. She didn’t have many choices here on what she could do without revealing too much information. She didn’t want to have to fight or run away in another direction that would lengthen her journey.

“Why not?” The idea had struck her; Alassiel was going to feign knowledge on why the beach wasn’t safe. She’d just arrived, could tell the girl she’d left many moons ago and hadn’t heard a thing. She’d just returned for a short visit to see friends and family, nothing dangerous, nothing threatening. “I’ve just returned, why are they not safe?” She hadn’t received much information from the last Alkidike she’s run into, so hopefully this one had more information and she was willing to share. Also she was hopeing that the other girl didn’t want to fight, but you never knew with Alkidikes.

She stared at the girl, happy that she paused. However she wondered what the other girl was thinking. Was she planning an attack, or planning on running. She could also be thinking of a plan. There was no way to know until she opened her mouth. Briella waited.

When she did speak a confused look crossed Briella's face. Why? Everyone knew why. It was public knowledge. Was this girl playing her? She was pretty sure everyone, no matter where they were in Tendaji, knew about what was going on.

"The land is unwell. People are fighting over it, and this is one of the places that are swarming with Alkidike." she didn't know how to say it correctly, how to explain what was going on to someone who didn't know. The only way she could explain it would be to make her people look horrible, and while they were doing horrible things she still didn't want to talk bad about them.

Well that was a new one; she didn’t know the land was unwell. Alassiel’s brows furrowed as she contemplated the Alkidikes words. Why would the Shifters be fighting for sick land? At least she confirmed that there was fighting going on, though Alassiel felt it was probably more from the Alkidikes side of things than theirs.

“I need to pass through here, by the river.” There was no way she was making some sort of detour, no way at all. Still, she also didn’t want to push the other girl into combat either. “It’s the quickest way…” Unless the girl provided her with a passage that was as safe and as fast, she was going through.

She frowned at the shifter. The girl seemed determined. It wasn't right for her to try to turn the girl back, nor did she really think that she could convince the girl to do so. She also didn't want to get into a fight. She wasn't about to show the bad side of her race, be the monster that many said that they were.

"In that case..." this could spell more trouble, if sisters saw them together, but it could also help things. There was no use in wondering though, it had to be done. "Would you mind company?" she was going to say an escort but the word felt wrong for this situation.

The question made Alassiel pause and blink a few times. Was it a trick? Was it an ambush? The Shifter didn’t know what to think of it but she knew if she didn’t accept there was no way she would be able to pass. Plus, the last Alkidike she’d met had not wanted to fight so there was a chance that all she’d get out of this was a good conversation. “Sure.” Alassiel advanced, pulling Raysh along as well. Once she met up with the Alkidike, Alassiel decided the best way to go about this was to be diplomatic. So, the shifter extended her hand.

“I’m Alassiel.” She was going to let the girl lead the way in.

She smiled, glad that she could walk with the girl and not have to follow her until she was safe. This way she could at least get some conversation out of it. "Pleasure to meet you Alassiel, my name is Briella." she gestured in the direction they would be headed and started walking.

"You said you've just returned? If you don't mind me asking, how long were you away? I've only just returned myself. I was gone for about a year, searching for my daughter." she said with a smile. She hoped it didn't seem like she was meddling or trying to get information from the girl.

Alassiel followed Briella, nodding when she offered her name and pulled Raysh along. “Nice to meet you too.” A year was a long time, Alassiel hadn’t even kept up with how long she’d been gone but about the same. “I think just a little over a year, I was heading towards Matori to get myself a snaptrotter for a mount.” It would make her travels much easier and quite faster. “Did you lose your daughter?” It was odd that she was searching for her daughter; Briella didn’t seem that old to have an older daughter. Though one never knew really, Alkidikes almost all look the same age to her.

She nodded. There were many animals both in Matori and Oba that she herself would have liked to have. However her trip was about getting her daughter and coming back. She didn't have much time to go and look at the creatures, and especially no time to capture any.

"Yes, during the war we were separated and she was taken into Matori land. I didn't know though, so I had to go searching for her. It took a while, and she was in a coma when I found her, but now she's home safe so it was more then worth it."

“I am glad you’ve found her.” Alassiel didn’t know what she would do if she herself had lost her daughter only to find her in a coma… Probably hunt down whoever had done it to her. “I hope you found who did this to her and they paid.” Alassiel pulled Raysh along, he was lagging behind and she didn’t want to make this trip any longer than it had to be. “I don’t have any children yet.” The other girl looked so young; she wondered how old her daughter was. “I would not wish what you went through on anyone.”

She shrugged. "It was during the war with the Oban's so I'm not sure who it was really. Though I did make a few Oban's pay while I was looking for her." she didn't kill any of them, for all she knew the person who hurt Ilyra was already dead, but she did give them a few injuries.

"Well my daughter is adopted. She was a runaway and we bonded when I went to return her to her mother, who didn't really want her." in reality Ilyra wasn't even much younger then she was. But still their relationship was that of a mother and daughter. "I'd wait if I were you, children are a handful. I know it won't be anytime soon that I'll be having younglings of my own."

She had not taken part in that war, though she knew the tales and had heard a few Shifters had gone to war as well. Alassiel briefly wondered if those who had fought in the Oban war would be fighting in this upcoming one too for she believed war would be inevitable.

“Is she Alkidike?” Alassiel didn’t think Alkidikes would abandon their own or adopt Earthings, so perhaps a Hybrid. “I have more than my fair share of siblings, children won’t be for me for a while.” All her family had been raised as one, with older siblings helping with the younger ones and their mother simply managing it all. “It’ll b nice to be back home.”

Briella nodded. "Yes, though you wouldn't tell by looking at her. She looks to be a wind hybrid due to her pale skin, but really she just has a skin condition. It's made her life a little harder then most, but it's also made her stronger." she was proud of who her daughter had become. She was a well rounded girl who saw the world as she wanted it, not as it was imposed on her. Just the fact that she also defended the Earthlings, even if it meant putting her in more danger, made Briella more proud then Ilyra could ever know.

"I bet it will, and your siblings will be very happy to see you. Mostly younger?" her own younger sister was a pain growing up, but she was sure that wasn't the case for everyone with younger siblings.
