Walking up to the Guild Master's table, Kari only said,"Supplies, please." It was enough considering she wasn't going to get a conversation no matter how verbose she was, so it didn't make sense to get into a long-winded speech about what she was questing for. He probably didn't care that she was going to look for the Greater Helmet of the Oak, so Kari had no reason to mention it.

Taking her bag of supplies, Kari went out to the stables with hopes that she'd find a good horse that wouldn't chicken out partway.

Try as she might, she couldn't get over the intense pain that was coursing through her. Kari guessed it was good that she was feeling sick at the start of her journey rather than at the end of it, so she wouldn't have to travel back too far to get aid.

Going back to retrieve another bag, Kari glowered at the pitiful amount of food that lined the bottom. There was no way this was enough for her quest.

Clearly, Kari had left before she was actually ready to leave, as she barely got outside the gate before her stomach began rebelling.

Kari Hoped the third time was the charm. Looking in the bag, she noted that there was a bit more food than last time, which was good.

Kari had to sigh when partway through her journey, she came across another wolf that had looked to be hunting. Letting the beast draw in closer, she waited for it to pounce before using her spetum to vault over it, ignoring how the resulting landing made her knees buckle, then spun around and stabbed it in the back.

She didn't like that she'd had to slaughter it so quickly, but she couldn't afford to waste time.

Making her way through the forest, Kari smiled when she arrived to a clearing and found a nicely sized pile of food waiting for her.

Knowing that it was safe, Kari picked the goods up and placed them in her pack.

"Wow, why would someone leave this here?", Kari murmured as one of her turns in the labyrinth lead her to a small crate of food. Looking it over proved that the food was still good and that there were no traps. It also looked like there'd been no activity around it for a while if the lack of fresh tracks around the crate was any indication.

Seeing as she already had quite a bit of food from her last find, she only took some of the food from the crate and placed it into her already brimming pack.

Trekking up the mountain, Kari was stopped by a familiar voice.

"Oooooooiiiii, Young Laaaaaass!"

Why was the old man here again? Did he actually need help this time, or did he just want to talk some more? Taking care not to trip, Kari led her horse down to where the man and his mule were located. "Sir, what are you doing back here? This mountain's very slippery, you should find a way down quickly."

"Oh, it's fine! If something happens, I can just magic myself and Snickerdoodle to safety~", he replied with a lilt in his voice that gave off the impression that he wasn't all there. There was that magic talk again. Kari still couldn't be sure if he was serious. "But you're such a nice girl to care about someone like us...here, have this", he continued, digging out a sack of food and shoving it into Kari's hands before she could object.

Giving a little wave, he continued down the rickety patch of road until he was out of sight behind a boulder. Deciding the simply accept the generous offer, Kari carefully packed the bag into her bulging sack while ignoring the whiny of protest from her horse to the added weight. "You know you benefit from this surplus of food, too", she chided the horse, not caring whether it understood or not.

Making the rest of the journey in silence, Kari was relieved to find the summit and its stone pedestal holding a small, brown helmet. A closer inspection showed what looked to be grooves that one would see in a tree even though the material was clearly metallic in nature. Carefully tucking the helmet into a corner of the bag, Kari took out a pair of apples and fed one to her horse while she munched on the other as they both descended back down the mountain.
