Unable to locate Cain and Julius among the apprentice-knights who had gathered before the guild master today, Nellie decided that she would try her luck at a quest all by herself for once. It wasn't as if she had never gone on one before so she figured that she ought to be fine so long as she exercised due caution every step of the way.
Pointing to the quest that entailed looking for a mantle that was named after a flower, she grabbed the bag of food that was handed to her, giving the guild master an appreciative smile before she headed to the stable to pick out a horse for the journey ahead.

Regardless of how many times Nellie took the same path leading out of Camelot to the lands beyond, she never grew tired of the scenery around her and would admire it with great fondness as she made her way down the dirt path on her horse. She was about to find out firsthand though that that wasn't a very wise thing to do for she accidentally rode straight into a bee's nest, the angry buzzing of the bees frightening the horse she was on so much that it threw her off its back and ran far far away.

It was admittedly very difficult carrying her food stash around with her on top of her longbow and quiver without the aid of a horse. Nellie found herself tiring out more often as a result of this arrangement, needing to stop more and more frequently to rest up and eat in order to keep her strength up.
She wasn't exactly sure where the dysentery bug that hit her came from though. It could have been the food or the water, but one thing she did know was that she ought to head back as soon as the symptoms developed lest it ended her and her journey for good.

Dysentery was indeed, as many others had told Nellie prior, a really terrible affliction out of all the illnesses that one could possibly come down with in this day and age. It made the poor apprentice-knight very sick to the point of being bed bound, unable to do anything else save for sleeping, drinking the poultices that the healers claimed would help alleviate the symptoms and of course sitting on the potty while feeling really really wretched.
It was about a fortnight later when she felt remotely human and back to her normal self that she approached the guild master for the same quest again, her fingers crossed that this time round would turn out to be a success.

A fortnight of being missing in action while puking and pooping blood was proving to be enough for Nellie to forget the things that she had learnt during the course of her previous journey along the exact same route. And so as fate would have it, she did the same things again, from admiring the flora and fauna in her immediate surroundings to riding into the same bee's nest that sent her horse running for the hills, leaving her behind to carry her bag of food with her yet again. Sigh...

Fortunately for Nellie, she did not encounter the dysentery bug this time round as part of her journey took her through the winding forest. She did however encounter a humongous spider that had crept up on her while she was in the midst of eating, the experience startling her so much that she dropped her food onto the ground.
Having recovered recently from dysentery, she looked long and hard at the food she had dropped, deciding that it was likely unsafe for consumption and therefore best to leave as it was while she went on her merry way.

The mountains were up next and being the booby trap magnet that she was, it came as no surprise that Nellie managed to trigger one of the many booby traps that some of her predecessors had fallen to, sending a couple of snakes coming after her that she tried to fend off albeit with great difficulty.

Nellie wasn't sure how she did it but she somehow made it to the top of the mountain relatively unscathed and went on to claim her prize. Now for the return journey back to Camelot to present it to the guild master...
