STEP 2: HERE AND BACK AGAIN

Now, this is an survival rp exercise. The requirement to get a successful artifact is you must post 600 or more words, follow one of each step, and not run out of food. )

- At the start of the quest, each player in your party must roll 5d10 Add up all party member's values. That is the amount of food they carried with them. If your party runs out of food, you will have to head home, it's no good to die out there in the wild... (QUEST FAILED, RETRY AGAIN).

- If your Knight runs out of HP they PASS OUT and are considered OUT of this quest. That means they do not get the award. A group can choose to continue on without him/her or head back and abandon quest to redo.

- If you are doing this with a group, EACH person of the party must roll for each stage once before progressing to the next stage. If there is no post after 8 ooc hours, then you can skip them and they are considered KO'ed.

- Now, all players get one extra reroll. That means if you are solo OR group, and you do not like your roll, you can reroll ONCE. This applies to PER player, and does not consume a turn.

- If you have attempted and FAILED this three times in a row, you may skip all the dysentery rolls meaning, if you roll for that, reroll instantly. This only works for the next expedition you do, and after that resets back to no skips.

- Please make sure ALL party members add this to their ooc post:

[quote="QUEST STATUS"]

Rolling a 5: Somehow, you made it safely. Somehow.
Rolling a 6: An old man claiming to be a wizard hands you some food. Thanks, you guess? +10 food.

After her last attempt at an expedition, Ruth decided to wait for some time before going on her next one. Eventually, when she finally felt up for another expedition, she headed to gather her rations and took a few extras before she went to the stables. The chestnut mare was still there, having been smart enough to find her way back.

It was unfortunate for the blonde white knight-apprentice that she did not wait a little longer or inspect her food a little bit more closely. There was something wrong with the rations she brought, apparently it had been infested with all sorts of nasty tiny creatures that when she took a bite out of some food, she immediately had to return home.

Once bitten twice shy, or in certain knights' case, fifty million times died of dysentery twice shy. Ruth knew she had to bring food and she knew that not all of it was in good condition. Either that or she had an exceptionally delicate stomach. So when she went out on her second attempt, she took fewer food with her.

Her horse was being exceptionally skittish, an odd and rather unusual behavior given its usually rather calm nature. She tried to give the creature a comforting pat even going so far as to rub its ears but it continued to be nervous and testy. Ruth wished she could speak horse because then she would have figured out just why the mare suddenly didn't want to keep moving forward. She urged it on all the same, an error of judgement on Ruth's part as the ground practically gave way beneath her and her mount.

The chestnut mare reared up, madly trying to scramble back away from the cliff. The blonde knight-apprentice figured that the horse was much better built for survival than she was and simply followed its lead. In the ensuing panic of thrashing limbs and loud braying, several of the rations fell over the cliff. Ruth could only appreciate that it wasn't she who had gone over.

After the clatter and clamor of the cliff, Ruth decided this would be an appropriate time to catch their breath and take a rest. She silently climbed off her horse, patting it and giving it a rub down, essentially showing it more care than normal. She was about to rest beneath a tree when the skittering of numerous limbs caught her ear and landed just by her ear. She scrambled back up onto her mount and rode like the wind.

Continuing on their journey, Ruth inspected the woefully small amount of rations she had left. The precarious cliff and the wretched spider distracted her thoughts. So much so that she failed to realize she was walking right into a trap! The horse tried to steer away but as there was no other viable paths, it was forced to keep going until arrows hailed upon them.

The chestnut mare, blind and maddened with pain and panic was galloping through the mountains. Ruth tried her best to calm it down but with her own injuries making the scent of blood stronger in the animal's nose, she couldn't do much except wait it out. Unfortunately, the mount gave a loud whinny of dismay and continued to do so as the ensuing avalanche swept both rider and horse off the mountain.

The sound of snorting caught her ear and Ruth craned her neck to see who or what it was. She wasn't the least bit surprised to find the gray gelding, still mad and still out for blood.

It was not Ruth that caused the avalanche but the angry gelding. All the same, she managed to retrieve the tabard.
