❁ Cattelaya is a genus of over 100 species of orchids that originate from Costa Rica and the Lesser Antilles near Argentina. Cattelaya orchids are known for their large, showy flowers and during the 1980s were extensively used in hybridization. Cattelaya hybrids come in varying colors except for true blue and black. A typical flower has three narrow petals and three broader petals. Two petals are usually similar to each other and the third is has a conspicuous lip, featuring different markings and even a frilly margin. Some hybrids are named and dedicated to the First Lady of the United States, celebrities, and other individuals.

❁ To many, Leia can appear to be an amalgamation of contradictions. Despite being so beautiful, one could argue she has a terrifyingly-ugly personality. At first glance she appears to possess poise befitting of the first Sanguis. She moves with grace and constantly holds a calm, neutral expression when not spoken to. When one catches her in a good mood, Leia can even hold pleasant, intellectual conversations. In a good mood, that is.
Otherwise, you’re more likely to find Leia in a cynical or pessimistic mood. Although she loves beauty and kindness, there is something about it that makes the Sanguis want to hold a flower in her hand and then crush it to smithereens. There is a certain, painful need of hers that compels her to wreck anything pretty and perfect in her eyes. However, it is not quite an obsession of hers, as she knows how to resist this temptation of hers, especially when she loves to grow colorful flowers. In the end, however, she views her garden as something both beautiful and ugly, something meant to be destroyed at the end of their lives.
What she absolutely cannot stand, however, is both uniqueness and homogeneity. She cannot stand being the only Sanguis, a “special” being separate from the others. It is terribly lonely and isolating, but Leia would loathe to admit it to anyone except her flowers. She hates how being so special can make a creature feel so good and arrogant, but also falls prey to those very same feelings. But she also hates it when everything is the same. There needs to be as much variety as her garden gives her.
❁ Despite acting high and mighty at times, Leia actually isn’t as picky as she initially appears to be when it comes to reaping souls. Death is a natural stage of life and therefore has no qualms about claiming the lives of others, whether it is their “time” or not. If she had to specify a type, however, she would admit that souls with high physical beauty attract her the most. It is a part of her temptation—if you are beautiful, then you must be destroyed, whether by her hands or someone else’s. She also has a special fondness for artists—painters and sculptors appear to be her favorite and she rarely visits writers or other creators.

❁ Her home used to be clean and organized, but after relishing the beauty of its tidiness, Leia promptly trashed it—knocking over paintings and pots and scattering gathered mementos and flowers across the ground. On the bright side, it is not a proper house according to Earth standards. There is a room, yes, but it is a room that looks more like a greenhouse with choice pieces of furniture scattered about. It’s quite spacious, and with the glass walls and roof, Leia can soak in the sun and warmth when the weather is idyllic. Outside the house lies only more greenery, with a sea of rolling hills and meadows of different colorful flowers.
