Kari was a bit anxious for her first fight against a monster, but she knew everyone had to start somewhere. It seemed her first target would be a Shadow Crab. "Alright, you'll be my starting point", Kari murmured, lifting her spetum in preparation to spear the creature. Rushing forward, she seemed to catch it by surprise with her speed as she managed to graze its left claw. The crab apparently hadn't been happy since it lunged towards her with claws extended. Kari managed to dodge out of the way, but wasn't able to deliver a counterattack. As the crab came in for an attack, Kari dodged the brunt of the blow and made a glancing one of her own. Kari decided to try a new approach. Instead of rushing in, she would let the enemy come to her. Keeping an ear out for the slightest noise, Kari dodged at the last second and managed to land a solid jab on the crab, cracking its shell.
