Quest for the Greater Tabard of the Dormouse Monster!

Leaving the battling in the Courtyard Camilla sought medical attention in the great hall her wounds were small and shallow but she didn't want to take any risks... Quickly the scratches on her left shoulder and cuts on her right side were cleaned then bandaged and she was sent on her way

With the piece of mind that came with tended wounds Camilla first went to the barracks to change her boots out... They were ruined and beyond using for anything other then maybe heavy labor... Fortunately she found several of the same pare in a rather finely made bag that had her name on it she didn't bother changing out her tunic or undershirt because she figured they'd get dirty anyway she also decided to leave her bag of gold tucked away with the other bags of gold she found inside her pack

Once ready Camilla quickly heads down to the guild hall and looks at the message board after a bit of searching she found a Tabard that appealed to her very much! One with a Dormouse... Monster? While she'd never heard of such a creature it involved a Dormouse and for some reason she felt a special fondness for them With her Artifact decided she happily heads to the quartermaster "One kit for the Greater Tabard of the Dormouse Monster please!" she says cheerfully the quartermaster raises a concerned eyebrow at her noticing something she had yet to notice but says nothing instead he hands her a pack of food and a slip of parchment before pointing to the stables "Thanks!" she chirps cheerfully before heading off to the stables

Once there Camilla hands off the paper and was allowed to pick her own horse she spent a while deciding but finally settled on a beautiful Chaser mare! Her coat was a deep rich brown and she had large almost rose shaped spots on her rump while a line of white ran down her face and white bands ran on each leg halfway up to the first joint the moment Camilla looked into the mare's eye's she knew this would be her horse! The eyes were gentle but held a deep determination in them and she also had another benefit to her... She was calm! With all the chaos going on outside she was totally calm and content! "I choose... This one!" she says excitedly the horses calmness was further tested by the excited voice and she passed with flying colors! Responding with little more then an ear flick at Camilla's excited tone "Then she's all yours! Good choice she handles tension and loud noises well" the stable master says with a nod

Happily Camilla enters the stall and gently holds her hand out for the horse to smell with a happy whinny the mare puts her nose in Camilla's hand after that she gently grabs the horse's face then touches her forehead to the mare's as she does the mare lets out a soft pleased whinny which pretty much sealed the deal this horse was now her's and she was this horse's human "That's some mighty fine horse skills ye have there for one so young!" the stable master says with a impressed tone "Really?" Camilla asks as she pulls her head away and begins petting her face "I... don't remember how I knew to do that... It just felt right..." she says softly "You Apprentice Knights impress me more 'n more!" he says with a shake of his head before suddenly remembering something "Oh! I know you knights like to name yer own horses but we here at the stable like to call that one Rosewood!" he says quickly

Upon hearing the name Camilla mulled it over with a musing expression before looking at the mare "Rosewood..." she says rolling the name on her tongue the mare knickers happily at the name and Camilla smiles "Yes! I think Rosewood is the perfect name! My thanks!" she says then looks at her new horse fondly "Heh no problem missy!" he says before heading off to help another knight Camilla wasted little time in getting Rosewood ready for travel using equestrian skills she didn't remember she had

Finally Camilla and Rosewood were ready to head out! Upon the stable masters instructions they took the back gate out to avoid the mobs of shadowlings attacking the front once they were a safe distance away she spured Rosewood into a full on gallop for the mountains! The mare's true mettle came to light as she ran! She was very fast yet strong easily carrying Camilla and her food with her!

The next few days were kinda rough for Camilla... Her wounds small as they were had some how gotten very upset and she had caught some sort of sickness in the proccess... Her fever raged for two days as did her cough... Upon explaining her day to the Knight who was tending her the woman simply shrugged and shook her head she told Camilla any number of things could have caused this anything from stress from the day, mucking the stall and preping Rosewood with wounds, or what was most likely being eaten by that snake with open unprotected wounds... The conditions in that monster were likely squalor and any manner of sickness could have gotten in those wounds... That ontop of entering into the shadowed world beyond the gate likely had just been too much for her body to handle...

Finally after two days then a third to recover her fever, cough, and aches were all gone and even the scratches on her side and shoulder were healing nicely! Camilla was up and ready to go! Her attending Knight was reluctant to let her go but told her to take it easy on her quest and after agreeing she would the Knight let her go

Happily Camilla returns to the quartermaster looking much better then she had before! He looks at her with a pleased expression before silently giving her a kit and sending her on to the stables he along with the stable master had been quite worried about her when she returned so soon after leaving looking pale and feverish so seeing her looking healthy and well put both men's mind at ease "Well! Lookit who's back! Rosewood was wait'n fer ya! And I'm glad yer ok too! Ye had me and that old grump of a quartermaster worried about ya!" the stable master says jovially "Heh thanks!" she says blushing a bit at the attention

When the pare got to Rosewood's stall the mare whinnys happily and tosses her head up and down upon seeing Camilla as if saying she was happy to see her and that she approved of Camilla's condition "Hi Rosewood! Are you ready to try that Quest again?" she greets then asks excitedly the mare whinny's happily and loud which makes Camilla laugh "Hah hah yup I'd say she's ready!" the stable master laughs after a bit more laughing Camilla finally bids the stable master farewell then begins prepping Rosewood for the quest feeling lighter then before In such dark times laughter was essential for dealing with the horror's around them and Camilla saw no reason not to indulge in the healthy habit when it was appropriate!

Finally they were ready and off! The siege was still as intense as before and so the pare take the backway out once more when they were a safe distance away they once again break into a full on gallop like before

Walking on foot wasn't easy! With the pack heavy with food and her cloths more suited to battle... or a formal dinner the route up the mountain then down it was much harder! She would definitely have to pamper Rosewood a little after checking her wounds when she got back... Horses did so much for people... And now having to walk the whole quest on foot made Camilla truely realize this!

Finally she gets to the forest... It was dark and thick with menacing legends of giant spiders and territorial forest elves... that had really sharp arrows... attached to it Camilla had had enough of giant angry creatures for a while and she didn't want to be used for a forest elve's target practice either! And so after taking a brief breather she hikes the bag on a bit better and heads on in! The forest was more like a maze and several times she swear she got lost in it's twisting turning corridors! She also had to stop for food breaks several times as well... Finally however she finds her way out! "I'm out! Yay!" she cheers before plopping down on a rock near the exit of the forest to take a break However! When she sat down her foot hit a cloth sack full of... something... Curiously Camilla looks around to see if she could spot the owner but after a bit of searching it became clear that this bundle was lost and forgotten to somebody eventually her curiosity got the better of her and she opens it to look inside

What she found was... Food! Apples, Dried Meat and Fish, Bread, and a variety of Vegetables! "Wow Wow!" she exclaims after gasping in surprise double wow summed things up pretty good! "Who would have just left this food here!?" she exclaims to the air with a questioning tone the bread wasn't stale, the apples or vegetables weren't rotten, and the dried meats hadn't been eaten on! This food had just recently been left here! Did that mean there was a fellow knight also looking for Artifacts? Or could there be a kind soul looking out for them... Either way the food wad coming with her! If she found the knight that lost it she could return it and/or if she hadn't eaten it all by the Quest's end she could give the remainder to the Quartermaster! They were always in need of food and a little extra certainly would be helpful!

As she packed the food away she realized it covered what she had eaten in the forest maze! Once it was all put away and the bag was back on her back she smiles at the forest and nods "Thanks..." she whispers before turning and heading up the trail

(Whoops! I filled in the rp for this post in the fail roll above... /derp Just count all the rp in the post above as the stuff for this post... I'll fix it someday!)

Finally at long last! Camilla had made it to the top! Or well the top of the Dwarven settlement... She still had a snowy trek to the top to go... She was a bit tired from all the walking but thats all she was and so with a determined expression she starts up the peak!

All was going well as she neared the summit and soon she could see the Tabard! It was beautiful and she was so eager to grab it! Unfortunately in her haste to get up there she stepped in a deep snowy patch and ALMOST lost her bag! She'd almost lost all that food she'd been given! Quickly Camilla acts just barely saving the bag from slipping off her shoulders and tumbling down the mountain "Eep! That was waaay too close! It would have been tragic to lose all this food!" she exclaims after putting a hand to her chest as it was the bag had come open... and a few loaves of bread and some apples began to slowly tumble away! Camilla tried to dig herself out so she could retrieve them but they fell into a place that wouldn't be safe to go over to... before she could... "Aw..." she mutters in disappointment with a pout

Finally she looks back to the peak and sighs there was no point crying over lost bread and apples! So with a determined expression she digs herself out and powers her way up to the summit! There she saw it resting gently on the snow! It was gorgeous! And it was her's! Quickly she picks it up and puts it away then sighs satisfiedly before scrunching up a bit her expression excited until she could hold her excitement in no longer! "Yaaaay! Wow wow! I did it! I completed my first Quest! Yay! Yaaay!" she cheers as loudly as she could while jumping up and down excitedly! Unfortunately It was clear that Camilla had never experienced mountain snow before and didn't know such yelling and dancing around would cause a...

Crack!

"Eeep! Huh?!" she squeaks in surprise as a sharp cracking sound fills the air and the snow beneath her feet noticeably shifts ... "What th-" Before she could even finish the snow gives way and begins to slide full tilt down the mountain bring her with it! "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!?!" Down at the bottom of the mountain it took her a good ten minutes to dig herself out of the snow... When she finally emerges she flops on the surface and pouts "Owie..." she mutters poutily Camilla may have gotten tossed around a bit on the way down... She now had some nicely bruised ribs, a few small cuts and scratches, plus a myriad of smaller bruises... And she was cold... The trip back would not be fun... And the first thing she needed to do was see a medic when she got back... But! At least she got the Tabard! And she didn't die! Those were pluses! Oh and hey! What do ya know! She somehow didn't lose any more food either! So it was still a victory!

Camilla Obtained the Greater Tabard of the Dormouse Monster!
