Clearly, the solution to fatigue was to go on an incredibly long and arduous journey which could result in extreme fatigue, nausea, and injury which included ferocious beasts, bees, spiders, eagles, snakes, and avalanches, and possibly much more. But really, that was just the exciting part! What was life without a few surprises and illnesses and random food lying on the ground?

Why, it'd be absolutely boring of course! Plus, the gear she was looking for sounded pretty neat. Gauntlet of the Lion~
Why, a classy lady like her would need classy stuff! And lion armor was as classy as it got. Pretty much perfect for punching bears. Because she liked punching bears.

Still, as much as she liked taking little excursions and acting like she didn't pay any mind to what was really important, that was far from the truth. She had every intention to help, and that meant putting forth her best efforts into making sure Camelot didn't fall. Seriously, she took her role as a knight-apprentice seriously, and while it didn't seem like it, she always tried her very best. Which was why... she needed a break. Moral was just as important as intention or strength or whatever, and if moral fell, well... things weren't gonna end well. This was why she needed a break. She was exhausted (moving ballistas were tiring work ok), and if she drove herself ragged, what would happen when the main forces broke through? Why, absolute chaos! Everyone would die! It'd be a bloodbath, a big, filthy bloodbath, and that'd be the end of it. Against those shadowlings? Why, they were mere squishy fleshbags filled with blood waiting to be popped. Like seriously, did they really thing they stood a chance against those things as they were? Merely firing shots at the small fry that grew served no purpose. No, if they wanted to stand any story of chance against them, they had to get STRONGER. Which was where this fancy loot came into play.

And so, because she was so excited to get this show on the road, she packed a little less food than usual and went on her merry way.

[ Step 1 - The Trek Forward ]

Jala might end up regretting not bringing enough food, but that was a matter for later and not now, because now was for journeying and making progress, and it was clear Jala did not plan ahead. Jala never planned ahead. Planning ahead was for losers.
Unfortunately, it was something she was going to have to be thinking about, because she soon ran into a bee's nest and spooked her horse away.

Quote:
Rolling a 3: You accidentally ride into a bees nest. BEEEEES. Your horse runs away, making it extremely hard on you. Every turn you take, you must subtract 5 food from the caravan, starting next turn.

[ Step 2 - The Winding Forest ]

Whatever, Jala did this without her horse before. She TOTALLY did.
... she was pretty sure she did.
And it seemed some kind soul had decided to leave her some food, because they knew she was in need of it. How awfully sweet of them!
Normally she probably shouldn't be touching random food she found on the ground, but she'd make an exception for this case. After all, who could say no to free food?

Quote:
Rolling a 2: Someone seems to have left food on the road for you! How nice! +10 food.

[ Step 3 - The Dwarven Mountains ]

Ah, the mountains. Her most favourite part. Mostly because that meant she was almost there. The skeletons, rusted armor and fallen bodies didn't deter her as she marched onward, oh so ready to claim her prize.
Not even the thought of her horse deserting her again (because that loser already ditched her) could deter her. SHE WAS MOVING FOWARDS.

Quote:
Rolling a 5: Your horse gives up on you, running away. Every turn you take, you must subtract another additional 5 food from the caravan.

[ Step 4 - The Mountain Summit ]

ANDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD she finally made it to the top, hooray! Glorious day.
Jala bowed and waved to an invisible crowd, accepting the non-existent applause at the completion of her perilous quest.
And then an old man wizard appeared out of nowhere and congratulated her with food. Oh joyous day. Jala shed a tear. So happy.

She marched right on over and claimed her prize, the glorious gauntlets of lions!

Quote:
Rolling a 6: An old man claiming to be a wizard hands you some food. Thanks, you guess? +10 food.
