Cassandra ( 10 years old )Cassandra is the youngest coven leader ever to take over. Her parents having just passed away has put her in a strange state of mind. She is terrified and yet excited. Terrified because she is so young and responsible for a whole lot of people. And excited because now she doesn't have to hold back how powerful her magic really is. Merida ( 10 years old )
Merida is a young witch that belongs to the Dark Coven. Even for one so young there are whispers that she could be the next coven leader when this one retires. She is Cassandra's best friend and is always looking out for her. Carolyn ( age 10 )
Carolyn is friends with Merida and Cassandra, but still keeps her own council and distance. She is wise for a ten year old and is often the voice of reason amongst the little group.

Merrick winced, shifting his shoulders as he set down the pails of water meant for the gardens; he'd made close to eighteen trips that morning since before dawn. His dark blond hair deepened subtly to a subtle mix of auburn and dark golden blond; he wasn't really sure how he could alter his physical characteristics at will, but he could do smaller things, like changing his skin tone a bit or his hair color. He could also do more... startling things... things that seemed almost unnatural, like walking on walls and ceilings in defiance of gravity. He heard a odd crackling thump before he spun, seeing a young brunette girl who looked confused. Almost the same moment, he felt an odd burning sensation shoot up his spine, unaware he'd stiffened as a dull glowing amber-orange aura flared around him as the stones and ground rippled as if abruptly turned to a thick liquid like jello as a soft golden aura spread over the ground for several feet around him. | Location -- Kaemoor Abbey, Scotland || Emotions - Confused, dizzy, sore, stiff.

Cassandra looked around, confused, as she suddenly appeared in a strange place. She did not recognize it at all nor how she had arrived here. She had been running through the woods blindly, tears blurring her vision. She had just learned that both her mother and her father had been killed, and she was now the leader of her coven. Her parents. Dead. She had never thought it could happen. Her mother was so strong, perhaps one of the strongest that had lead their coven in a long time. Cassandra sniffled as she wiped the tears from her face and looked around. This time she caught sight of the young boy. Her eyes widened as she stood up slowly. It was hard to see he too was afraid of seeing her here. His body was surrounded by amber-orange and the ground around him had changed as if protecting her from coming near him. Not that she couldn't if she wanted to. One did not always have to walk to get by someone's side. "Excuse me...I...I don't know where I am." Her voice was still a bit shaky and hoarse from crying.

Merrick grimaced, uncertain. "Kae... moor... Abbey... Scotland," he said slowly; he wasn't used to speaking very well, unaware that the aura had become a soft transparent color as he took a couple of shaky steps towards the girl. "Who... are you?" he said shakily before a rumbling growl echoed... from his stomach. He had no idea that when he took a step, the ground rippled as if liquid, and if one looked closely within the ripples, they could see... trees. "Scotland? Oh dear...however did I manage to get myself here?" Cassandra turned around in a slow circle as she took in her surroundings again. Had she been so upset that she hadn't realized she had transported herself to a different place so far from him? She supposed it was possible. Her gaze went back to the young boy and she smiled slightly as she recognized the rumbling of a hungry stomach. Her gaze flickered to the ground before going back to his face. It was as if he was unaware of what he was doing. "I...my name is Cassandra. And you...what is your name?"

Merrick blushed a little. "I'm... um... Cassandra pushed her hair from her face as her head tilted to the side. She looked down at his feet, studying the ground. He was very powerful and if she wasn't mistaken he was younger then she was. Merrick blinked a couple of times before glancing upward before he took another step, frowning a bit at the odd sensation as he paused; it felt like trying to get out of that funny cornstarch-water mixture when you were stuck in it. "I've had that happen a couple of times... can't be stranger than the time I fell from halfway up the bell tower," he said shyly, glancing at said bell tower, which was roughly three and a half stories tall. Cassandra looked up at the bell tower, an eyebrow slightly raised. Any normal person would have been killed by a fall like that. She turned her gaze back to Merrick as she blinked. She realized that he was having a hard time moving. "You seem to be having a hard time. Here let me help you." She knelt down, her fingers touching just at the edge of the stuff that surrounded his feet. It took only a moment for it to dissipate. "There you go." She stood up, smoothing out the skirt of her dress she was wearing.

Merrick looked a bit startled as she touched the ground, kneeling before he felt the odd heat coursing through his body weaken slightly as the odd... clinging sensation faded. He looked at the ground, noticing in places it seemed... melted, which was really strange to him. "I'll be honest... Cassandra giggled softly as she pushed her hair back from her face. "Umm, well if you show me the way to a kitchen I can cook us up something. I've been helping...well I've been cooking since I could walk." She averted her gaze from his to hide the tears that had popped up. Her mother and father had come to her mind once again.

Merrick nodded before he blinked, noticing the glint of tears as she looked away. "You've lost someone recently, haven't you? Better than what I've been dealing with... I never even knew my parents.' he said shyly. He turned away before he took her hand, tugging very lightly; he knew physically, he was quite a bit stronger than most of the monks, even the stronger ones physically. Cassandra was surprised when the boy took her hand. She followed after him silently as he led her to the kitchen. A small smile spread across her face. It reminded her of where her mother had first taught her how to cook. "This place is wonderful. I like it." She gently pulled her hand from Merrick's as she looked around. Cassandra took a deep breath and spoke without looking at him. "Both my parents. I lost them both; murdered just a few days ago. And now....I have a responsibility to take care of, and I am not sure if I am ready yet."

Merrick exhaled softly as he reached for the round wheel of Bonchester cheese. He wasn't very skilled at cooking yet, but in time, he would, he was sure.
