Isolder was weak, after five years of searching and not finding his family he was half convinced that his efforts were fruitless, he had started to slow down with his search partly due to the cold he could feel coming on and partly due to his doubts of finding his family again, surely they would not have left Jauhar. Oh what did it matter, if he hadn't found them by now he probably wouldn't, they must be gone.

This thought that he had never given must precedence was enough to drive him to his knees on the path he was on, he crumpled and curled up on his side.

Briella had been walking around, familiarizing herself with the forest once again. It had been much to long since she had been away from it, and there were things that she didn't remember. It was almost like being a youngling once again.

As she walked she spotted an earthling curled up on the floor. She worried that he was hurt and ran over to his side. "Are you okay?" she said looking for blood or any kind of wound.

Isolder looked up with dim spiritless eyes and started a bit, an alkidike, was she here to mug him? Then her words and concern penetrated his mind, she seemed kind.

"Sorry, Its just you startled me." he glanced down at himself. "No physical harm, no." he nodded at her which was awkward from that angle. Just emotional damage, he thought, blinking rapidly at his sorrow and the waved of hopelessness that beleagured him, But she wouldn't want to hear his story, "I'm okay really." And he was' sort of, besides the cold he had caught in his travels. A snivel that he couldn't hold in probably told her all she needed to know about his health. At least it wasn't the cough this time. The cought tended to scratch his throat until he sounded more likee a spitorog then not. "What are you up to?" he croaked, hoping to distract her fromhis somewhat raggedy self.

There was something wrong with this shifter, of that she was sure. His eyes were not like any other she had seen before, she wondered what kind of trails he had faced in his life. His answer confirmed what she believed and she sat down next to him. "Often it is the harm that is not physical that is the very worst." she said in a motherly tone. Looking around she returned her eyes to him. It would not do to have any sort of predator see him like this.

When he asked what she was up to she smiled. "Just walking around, seeing if anyone needed my help. I have been gone for some time from the forest, so I'm getting use to it once again. And you? What brings you out here."

"I am searching, have been for five years and as of yet I have not found my quarry. You haven't happened across any particularly long haired young shifer prentices in your travels by chance? Or even a shifter youngling, he must be prentice age by now too I believe." It had been too long since he had last seen his baby brother. What had happened to him?

"We were in a battle five years ago and it seems to have scattered us tot eh four winds, I have remained in Jauhar for this time thinking they would not have left her boarders but I'm starting to loose hope of ever finding them again, there were six of us including myself, brothers all." He peered up at her, a hint of hope shining in his eyes, sitting on the ground gazing up.

She frowned. Lost family was the worst, she travel far and wide to find her daughter so she felt the pain of this shifter. "I've seen many shifters in my travels, some with long hair and some with short. Though I cannot say that any of them were looking for others. Or at least none of them share such information with me. I'm sorry." the hope in his eyes was enough to break her heart.

"However now that I know you are looking for them I will keep my eyes open. The other five, would they be together?" she asked. Five years was a long time, so even what he knew could be wrong, but she had to know more. She would keep on the look out for his sake.

"Aye, I figured as much, but I am grateful at this point for any help whatsoever and another pair of eyes would be invaluable to me. The two youngest should be together, I don't know about the others." His shoulders slumped a bit. "I'll find out eventually..one way or the other." He shook his head and stood offering a hand to shake. "My name is Isolder and its nice to meet you." He said sincerly. "I'm glad you came by." Who knows how long he would have sat there if she hadn't come, maybe forever.

"I think I might need to find an inn, having a cold alone in the jungle is not ideal. Do you by any chance know of any nearby?" His spirit was up at least a little and he was most glad of it.

She nodded. "My name is Briella, and it's nice to meet you as well. I'm glad I found you as well. The floor isn't always the safest place." she said when she realized that she hadn't introduced herself right away. How rude of her.

She thought for a second and nodded, she knew of a pretty good inn nearby. "In fact I do. Id be more then happy to escort you, and maybe on the way you can tell me a little more about your brothers? That way I can be sure to recognize them if I do see them." she encouraged. She might not be able to get too close to the inn, she was pretty sure they didn't like her kind there, but she could get him close enough.

"Sounds more then fair to me." He said. "My eldest brother Istanell has crystals like mine on his forhead, he is handsome with long hair that has a ribbon through the blade, hes about this tall." Isolder held up a hand to indicate height. "Hes muscular but lean or at least he was the last time I had seen him. He has a multitude of scars on his arms and back and large oval crystals on his shoulders and back. He has an ear cuff like mine but on the lower edge of the ear, his feathers are green."

Isolder gave the best description possible of what he remembered of his older brother and paused before starting on the next one.

She listened, trying to remember all that she could about his older brother. The crystal thing was important, since placement differentiated earthlings more then anything like skin color or hair color. The scars also helped, because those he wouldn't have been able to get rid of. She wondered what had given the boy the scars, but felt that it wasn't her place to ask such a question.

"Are the cuff's a family thing?" she asked. It was an appropriate question,, plus it would help her identify his other brothers if it was. She helped this talk of his family was helping him, and not hurting him. She knew that sometimes talk like this wasn't the best kind of talk.

"Yes, yes they are, we all have different colors as well, and as far as I know everyone else's is in the more down position. Illian is the second oldest and the last time I saw him..well he will have the scars too. He should still have his staff I think his ear cuff is green using some smaller feathers." His mind shied away from the memory of the battle that day and he moved on to the next brother.

"Next is Icanthis his ear cuff is orange and yellow feathered, both his and Illian's forhead crystals are a little wider more of a circle and both look alike. Only mine is tilted like this."

"Isaris and Issaly are younger than I am. Isaris's cuff is a shimmery blue color, and Issaly's are ivory." "Issaly might very well be a prentice by now."

Isolder peered wistfully into the forest as they approached the Inn slowly. "I think this not knowing has started to tear me apart, do I stop looking? Do I leave Jauhar? I just don't know what to do anymore."

As he talked she concentrated on the cuff a little more. It seemed like the best way she could tie the boys together. The scars on another one of his brothers worried her. It seemed that this band of brothers had gone through a lot.

At the name Icanthis she had to think. She was sure that she had heard it before, but couldn't pinpoint where or when she did so she didn't give it much more thought. She didn't want to give him false news either so she didn't say anything.

She committed as much to memory as she could when he started to speak. She frowned. "You never give up. It wasn't long ago that I had to go searching for my daughter, it took me all the way to Oban and more time then I would have liked. But I never gave up, and that's why we are together again. You must never give up. Maybe expand your search to outside of Jauhar, but never give up."

Touched by her bolstering courage, Isolder laid a gentle hand on her shoulder in thanks, "Thank you, you have no idea how much I needed to hear that." Then the moment was ruined with an explosive sneeze which he politely turned into his opposite shoulder. "Sorry, I hope this goes away soon, I guess I just got too worn out to fight it off."

Some good sleep would do him good. "Tell me about your daughter? What happened to her? If you don't mind me asking." Maybe some lessons of what she learned would help him in his search. He was a bit dizzy but could still walk, he thought that maybe a fever was coming on..joy. That would be just what he needed. Maybe some good Inn food would help, he had enough money for it, it was just a matter of getting there, and with her help he thought his chances were good.

She smiled as he laid a hand on her. This was what she wanted everyone to see, one of her kind and one of his helping each other. Maybe if more people saw it they would think differently of the two races. Maybe it would bring peace. She laughed as he sneezed. "Colds are the worse, the often sneak up on you in the worst of times."

"Not at all. She was captured by Oban's during the war. I couldn't find her at first, but I slowly gathered more and more information until I found her in a hut with an older women looking after her. She had fallen into a coma, and was lucky that someone found her." she didn't like to think of what would have happened if she had been found by someone not as kind.

"Maybe thats what happened to my brothers," he said worriedly. "Maybe that is why I can't find them, I've been looking in the wrong place. Did they, did they hurt your daughter? Is that why she was in a coma?" He had heard of comas, sometimes people just didn't come out of them, sometimes they came out fine or slightly changed, either way he hoped none of his brothers was in the same situation. He couldn't imagine how she would have felt to find her daughter in such a state. The worry would be huge and heavy weighing on her.

"Is she all right now?" He hoped the answer was to the positive but who could tell, at least her body language didn't speak of insurmountable grief.
