Ruth did not display the same level of enthusiasm or frenzy as the other knight-apprentices. She was not as... concerned for the Great King or their fate, deeming the whole resistance against the Horsemen and shadowlings as futile. But it would not do to let others know of her beliefs, which was why she gathered rations and was making a choice among the available horses. In the end, she picked a different sad-looking gelding than the one she first chose. This one was an off-white.QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 23 YOUR HP: 30/30

This time, using her experience from her first expedition, Ruth urged the horse to a careful, slow pace. Unfortunately the horse had other things in mind as it decided to make use of its freedom and light load. When it suddenly bolted forward, it was all Ruth could to do hold on. And when it ran right into a damnable bee's nest, it was all Ruth could do to let go.

As she journeyed further and arrived at the winding woods, Ruth could swear she heard hoof beats. She stilled and tried to vanish into the undergrowth in case it was something she would rather not face. At least not while she was alone. It turned out to be the gelding from her first quest! She tried to calm it down so she could ride it again but the wretched creature took one look at her and remembered the bees.
Needless to say, Ruth wasted a good amount of time, energy, and food trying to catch the dumb horse. And failed.QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 18 YOUR HP: 30/30

This wouldn't be the first time Ruth traveled through the fortress on foot. But it didn't mean it wasn't unnerving to see all these corpses. She may have felt a little twinge of jealousy if she was ever going to be honest with herself. But she wasn't and that was why she failed to notice the booby trap.
Hissing erupted all around her and Ruth tried her best to swat the slithering serpents away. But not without sustaining injuries.QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 13 YOUR HP: 20/30

The climb to the mountain took more out of Ruth than she thought it would. But that just meant she should eat more of the rations she brought. She made a face at the bitter taste as she chewed but ignored it. And then she spotted it, fluttering in the wind! Just as she was about to touch the artifact, Ruth felt extremely ill.

Ruth could only take solace that she wasn't the only one to fall victim to rations that shouldn't have been handed out. She considered taking less this time, but then she recalled her horrible luck with geldings and stocked up on some more.
While she would have preferred a different horse, it seemed that the off-white gelding had found its way back and she was saddled with the wretched thing again.QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 32 YOUR HP: 30/30

The blonde was not happy with her mount. Not happy in the least. And this feeling of dissatisfaction multiplied tenfold when the horse, upon the trek, seemed to accidentally on purpose lose its footing. Ruth hard yanked on the reigns and threw her weight towards the opposite side.

The horse was frantic and in a panic and was refusing to listen to Ruth's angry commands for it to stop. Not even with the stupid thing activated a booby trap and snakes came flying right at her.QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 26 YOUR HP: 20/30

She tried her best to steer the horse to the right direction, but it still wouldn't listen to her. Rather than stopping to let her grab the artifact (which was right there) the horse broke into an even faster gallop and causing her to lose all the food.QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 0 YOUR HP: 20/30

Ruth decided this may be a good time to take a rest and to replenish her energy. Unfortunately, the food she'd brought to the journey brought on a terrible case of dysentary.
