STEP 2: HERE AND BACK AGAIN

Now, this is an survival rp exercise. The requirement to get a successful artifact is you must post 600 or more words, follow one of each step, and not run out of food. )

- At the start of the quest, each player in your party must roll 5d10 Add up all party member's values. That is the amount of food they carried with them. If your party runs out of food, you will have to head home, it's no good to die out there in the wild... (QUEST FAILED, RETRY AGAIN).

- If your Knight runs out of HP they PASS OUT and are considered OUT of this quest. That means they do not get the award. A group can choose to continue on without him/her or head back and abandon quest to redo.

- If you are doing this with a group, EACH person of the party must roll for each stage once before progressing to the next stage. If there is no post after 8 ooc hours, then you can skip them and they are considered KO'ed.

- Now, all players get one extra reroll. That means if you are solo OR group, and you do not like your roll, you can reroll ONCE. This applies to PER player.

- If you have attempted and FAILED this three times in a row, you may skip all the dysentery rolls meaning, if you roll for that, reroll instantly. This only works for the next expedition you do, and after that resets back to no skips.

- Please make sure ALL party members add this to their ooc post:

And now that a sensible amount of mead and ale had been drank, Alexei decided it was time to leave Camelot in pursuit of one of the artifacts he'd been told they would need to retrieve. An adventure! Very fun, he thought, as he loaded food into a sack and mounted the horse he'd been assigned.

It was a beautiful steed, chestnut brown with a white stripe down its nose, and a white bar taking over every leg three quarters of the way down. Its name was Bergamont, but Lex affectionately called it 'Burgie.'

Maybe, Alexei though, just maybe he'd had too much ale. His stomach was beginning to churn and make disturbing noises. He sincerely hoped Burgie would avoid being hit by projectile vomiting, he would feel incredibly bad for the poor horse.

Luckily, the feeling subsided and both steed and knight apprentice were on their way to the forest.

He ended up having to, well, relieve himself after all the alcohol settled down, so Lex jumped off Burgie, totally prepared to do his business and get back to riding.

Except he slipped on the saddle, knocking him down and nearly rolling over a cliff face, an apple falling out of his bag and making a display of what his head would have done had Lex been the one to fall down said cliff.

He took a breath, stood up, and did what he stopped to do. He wasn't scared, definitely not. Those weren't baby tears in his eyes.

To Burgie's credit, there probably had been some sort of dangerous elven man with a bow poised to kill, or a spider who happened to be famished and looking for its next meal. The stallion fled, leaving Alexei with only his feet and a sack of food.

It could have been worse, he thought. He could be dead.

Trekking wasn't nearly as enjoyable when one had to do it all by walking. Lex kept his smile on, though, forever positive so as not to fall into melancholy or despair. After all, those things were not suitable for knights to have! They distracted from the fight!

What fight? As far as Lex knew, there had been no fight before Camelot. As far as Lex knew, Camelot had always been and always was. Ale, mead, food, sparring, training to one day be a proper Knight.

Well, he knew there would be some fight. There was always a fight. Like the fight between his mind and his legs as the brain commanded them to run faster, because a snake was right on his heels and biting at him continually.

The mountain top! Alexei could see it, smell the fresh air and hear the - well, there was nothing to hear other than the roaring wind and possibly the screeching of far off mystery eagles. With a bright smile and an eager bounce to his step, the knight took off to start climbing and reach the prize!

In his haste, however, he too quickly tried to grab a ledge and the erratic motion sent the sack with the last of his food flying off a cliff.

He needed that food...

Back to the grind, back on the horse - literally. Lex was very glad Burgie was still alive and well, and jumped on the saddle with fervor and the ever present grin. "Away, steed!"

Lex's stomach felt terrible as soon as they left Camelot, the sudden and violent urge to relieve himself taking a strong hold of him. He hopped off Burgie to go throw up in some bushes, clutching his stomach and holding his beard away from any of the vomit. Could't let the beard get grody.

Sluggishly and not so smiley, Lex crawled back on Burige and turned the horse around, headed back to Camelot. It was going to be a very long, very painful night.

The night was long, and full of terrible grunts and moans and maybe some shouting. No screaming, because he wasn't that guy. He made a full recovery, slept it off, and was once again mounted on Burgie's saddle, food in his sack, and ready to begin this excellent adventure.

Alexei vowed to not puke on Burgie, or ever sully Burgie in any way. He could hold in the vomit, he would not make this poor creature suffer through any of his disgusting bodily functions.

Oh gods, he could hold it in... it was just a little bit of an upset tummy... he'd be fine.

Lex definitely was not fine at all. He had to dismount quickly and run to the same bushes as before, still keeping his beard free from debris. This was a very terrible day, but he kept smiling.

"Sorry bud." Lex muttered to the horse, mounting him again and returning, once again, empty handed.

Another long, painful night, another morning full of resolve. This would be the day, he told himself. Today he would go and get that artifact, return it to Camelot, and help their cause - whatever their cause was. He still wasn't entirely sure on that bit, only that they were to serve the Great King and do as he commanded. To follow their Knight's Code.

Lex dug his heels into Burgie's flanks, and they were off.

Lex had stopped momentarily to look at the view from one of the cliffs, admiring the sky line and the abundance of nature around them. This land, though sometimes treacherous and more times deadly, was quite beautiful.

Even the rock that tripped him was beautiful.

A small roll tumbled from the rucksack before Alexei could get up, and the man frowned just a little bit. He like rolls and bread, about as much as he like ale and mead. The two went very well together, actually.

It was nothing, though. There would always be more rolls in Camelot.
