"...S-so would you...like to try again, maybe?" She asked the man sheepishly, once they had recovered from their bout of terrible sickness. As she asked, she refused to look at him, and instead spent her focus on her fingers, which tapped together in front of her chest.

"Does Sir Gawain have a beard?" Aymet responded, much more enthusiastically than before. He was pretty sure there was nothing left in him to disturb his four humors any further. He hoisted a bag of food and glanced toward the distant horizon. Majestically.

....But did he have a beard, though? Amrita considered this, looking concerned, but didn't have the heart to voice it; she didn't want to look stupid after all. At least, any more stupid than she already was. Instead she watched him from the corner of her eye, looking for physical cues as to his meaning.
Saddling his horse and looking majestically into the distance was a pretty decent indication that maybe, just maybe, he was willing to try the quest again.
Maybe. He did look kinda cool while doing that, though...
She pressed her lips together, worrying the little line they made, and loaded her own horse with food before mounting it, and heading down the path once more. Except, two paces into their journey, her horse slipped on the edge of a cliff, and the pair of them scrambled back to safety, somehow, even if Amrita ended up much paler than she should have been, and shaking like a leaf.

Aymet should have been paying less attention to the fair maden and more attention to the road, because when her horse began to fall sideways off a cliff, his followed after in quick succession.
These were not smart horses.

A single loaf of bread soared above them in an arc, then fell down into the murky distance below. Fortunately, the two of them hadn't fallen down with it.

Her companion wasn't the talkative type, but damn she was okay with with that. Instead she focused on not focusing on him, and tried to put more attention onto their surroundings which, ultimately, didn't work either, as a rather large spider scared her so badly she screamed.
Throwing the orange she was eating at it seemed to scare it off, at least.

"Stand back!" Lacking something that could be adequately referred to as a weapon, Aymet instead drew another loaf of bread with which to fend off the spider. The spider neatly grabbed the bread and snapped it into 5 pieces with a few flicks of its too-long legs. They did not stick around.

Amrita, not knowing what else to do, simply clapped for him as he fended off the giant spider...with some of their food. She bit her tongue to comment on their dwindling resources, partially because he was large and frightening but mostly because it had ended up with there not being another spider attack, so...well, it worked.
They continued on to the mountains, entering the labyrinth littered with bodies of fallen knights and the rusted armour that no longer had occupants.
Then she stopped as her horse came across a new-ish looking crate. She stared at it from the safety of her beast, and then slowly dismounted to cautiously shuffle towards it. When she got close enough to it she paused to peer down at it, then looked up at her majestic companion.
"...Should we open it?"

Amrita let out a yelp as the sudden snakes targeted her companion, and kept away from him for safety's sake. While he was distracted with the serpents she reached down and grabbed the food from the crate, scrambling to her horse to get off the ground, and to get the food to a safe place.

Aymet smiled and nodded at the wizard who handed him 'magic beans'. Yeah, no. He pretended to throw them into the food sack and hurried the rest of the way up the slope, snakes still writhing on him. Quote: FOOD +10 HP 20/30 I GUESS THEY MADE IT

They made it. Somehow, someway, they made it.
Amrita chose to ignore the old man and his magic beans, instead allowing her companion to field him too; much like she had left the snakes to him. When they were free and clear she approached the artifacts, picking up shoulder pads decorated with the dark black stone Serendibite. They were heavy, and they glowed faintly with a small amount of power.
The king would like these, she was sure of it.
She turned to show her companion the shoulder pads, but instead let out a yelp of surprise.
"UM! You--You've got...uh..." Shifting the greater shoulders to one arm, she used the other to gesture at herself, everywhere he had a snake on him.

The black knight hefted a similarly oversized piece of armor up and over his horse, which balked at the offensive weight of the metal and the weird magic it radiated. A snake with several bands of bright and venomous color fell out of his sleeve. He stared quizzically at the maiden. He scratched his chin thoughtfully with the help of a garter snake. "Hm..." A few snakes tumbled out of the knight's sleeves, and Amrita took a couple very obvious steps back, keeping her limbs as close to her person as she physically could, lest the snakes get any more ideas.
"…A r-riddle? Wha-" The dark haired girl blinked, trying to process what was even happening now. "H-how can you…" She stared at him in dumbfounded awe. How was that even possible?! "You're got snakes in your armour!" She cried, unhappily, and continued to point at him, though her arm was curled in close to her chest.
