Originally just the unseen son of Roger Powers, Christian "Chris" Powers have somehow taken a life of his own. Though he doesn't have a specific canon he belongs to, he's the king of alternate universes and is decently used for RPing, idea testing and other fun stuff, hence the title.

There are, however, some things that never change for the poor boy:

Christian, or simply Chris as he goes by, is the middle child in the seemingly happy, rich and otherwise prosperous Powers family. Due to some unfortunate circumstances before his birth however, Chris ends up as the less favored child of out of his sibling flock of three, and is often bullied or plain ignored by his younger sister and older brother, shunned by his father and unintentionally neglected by his overworked mother. Determined to win the affection and respect of his family, the boy attempts to make a name for himself... only to fail miserably due to his own shortcomings, health and most of all bad luck. This is his story as he either tries to break free of his family, simply lives his life, or experience the greatest adventure on the planet...

The most general stuff

Background and shortened bio of the modern day universe

Chris was born in New York City, 1992, June 23rd, at a general hospital. Already before he was born, doctors knew the boy was gonna have a rough time due to all the issues his mother had during the pregnancy. A heart transplant was needed early on, and many weeks of hospital stay followed. Chris was nearly two years old when he could move home for longer than a couple of days at the time. Since then, he's been living a decently normal life. He didn't get outstanding grades during his school years, but more than enough to get by. Sure, he was very dependent on pills and blood transfusions for a while, but he's been doing good for the past few years. He graduated from an art college, despite his father's protests. Currently Chris is working at a bookshop, while trying to get his life together. He also runs a gaming based Youtube channel called 'CCG (Chris Can't Game) Horror Hiccups' that's steadily rising in popularity. Apparently watching a wuss play horror games is entertaining.

Though nothing of significance (besides all his hospital stays) has really happened throughout his life, his relationship to the family has been a roller-coaster.

Family and relationships

Roger Powers, father - Chris' relationship to his father is rocky to say the least. Prepared to have his child die early and possibly in pure agony, Roger prepped himself to not get too terribly attached to his second son. Unfortunately he never got the memo that Chris would live through the rough start of his life, and never really bonded afterwards with the boy, even when things were completely fine. It didn't help that Cindy had two miscarriages before Chris was born, and Roger was completely desperate to finally get that little red headed girl that kept slipping through his fingers, only to be handed a wheezing boy who couldn't live without a machine. The stars were never in our protagonist's favor.

Roger doesn't hate Chris' though. He doesn't really expect anything from the boy, sure, and he's slowly coming to terms that the boy will never be a genius like his brother, or a fighting champion like his sister, but hate? No. Chris is a failure of a son, but he's still his child. Roger will always be concerned and worried for the boy, which is why he has laid the most strict rules on him. As Chris is still living at home and under the mercy of his parents, he's subject to uncompromising curfews, laundry lists of tasks around the house, and other rules that never applied to the others while they were under the roof. It's really the only way Roger knows how to deal with the meek, weak boy.

Cindy Powers, mother - Chris is, undoubtedly, Cindy's favorite child and the most spoiled. While Roger tried his best not to form any sort of bond with him, Cindy refused to let her baby go out of her sight. They've had a wonderful an strong relationship since the beginning, but that has been slowly falling apart for the past ten years. As Chris got well during his teenage years, Cindy got back into her job after a long absence from the workforce to focus on her child's health. She came inn at he perfect time; her boss promoted her to partner, and Cindy had to for the first time in her life move out of the country for a couple of months in order to continue her work and passion. She's been at this interval schedule of being home for 6 weeks, only to be gone 8 ever since. This basically cut their connection, and she's only been vaguely aware of her children's lives and the big happenings since. She still adores and spoils Chris like she did before, but she has a hard time accepting that he's growing up.

Courtney Powers, younger sister - There's literally nothing more fun for Court to do than bug the hell out of her brother. Pushing him down the stairs is overdoing it a bit, but she'll gladly punch him in the gut, give him awful nicknames and invade his privacy and diary whenever she gets the opportunity.

Aldrin Powers, older brother - In Aldrin's defense he ignores everyone in this crazy family. You could push it and say Chris is Aldrin's favorite family member besides their mother. They have regular phone conversations, though it's terribly one sided from Chris' part. I don't think Aldrin has ever rejected a phone call from his little brother... which is quite amazing considering how many meetings this guy is involved in. That's where the good ends. Despite listening to all of Chris' troubles when he needs to vent, Aldrin never actually helps his brother out. He'll come to the rescue if dad refuses, but that's as far as he'll stretch.

Body

Appearance

Chris is an awfully tall guy for having been sickly all his life. He's 6'2 feet if you can believe it, though he has a terrible habit of hunching to make himself smaller. He's on the light chubby side, and being big boned with a thick waist and wide chest really makes him appear more massive than he actually is.

Much like his father, Chris got a wide mouth, thick eyebrows, powerful chin and hawk beak nose, though his overall face is more childish and poofy due to his extra weight.

Like all the rest of the Powers' family, Chris is blond, but stands out on the family photos like a sore thumb by having a much darker, sandy shade than the rest. He's also the only child to have blue eyes instead of green, and is the only one with natural curls. Thankfully Courtney got a perm, which lightens the pressure of looking like the rest.

Just like his younger sister and mother, Chris is covered in freckles from top to toe.

Chris prefers to wear as many, many layers of clothing as possible. Under his turtle neck he always got a long sleeved cotton shirt, and he never goes anywhere without his signature aviator jacket with the white wool fluff. As far as pants go, he's a fan of jeans for pure simplicity and function.

Underneath all that clothing, our boy here is covered in scars all over his arms and torso. Cuts, cigarette burns... you name it. If you didn't know any better, you could mistake it all for being self-inflicted. This is why Chris refuses to wear anything that doesn't cover his upper body. His legs are pretty clean and good though.

Health

Chris’ heath has recently been fluctuating back and forth, but he’s alright for now. He’s currently struggling with low blood pressure (currently not medicated), pollen allergies, nut allergies, dust mite allergies, mold allergies, asthma (intermittent to mildly persistent severity) and light migraines.

Due to his poor health, Chris isn't in top shape and isn't one to play sports. He tries to exercise daily to up his lung capacity and avoid getting fat, but won't be an athlete anytime soon. That said he's powerful due to his size and genetic makeup, and is more than capable of flipping a car should shove come to push.

Chris' mental health is in similar shambles. Being largely ignored by his family, and literally abused by several of his friends, hasn't done the boy much good in the confidence apartment. He seems content to be everyone's punching bag, and doesn't think too terribly much when someone curses him out. While he's not crazy enough to let someone beat him to death, and he smart enough to seek out medical help when things get worse than bruising, and sometimes does report to the authorities when it gets real ugly, he's also dumb enough to get involved with people who treat him like dirt. He's in need of some therapy. He's also prone to anxiety attacks when he's feeling alone or something goes terribly wrong.

Mind

Personality

Kindness is a fool's trait - Highly emphatic with a strong desire to be an anchor and safe place for those who need it, Chris might just be someone you'd call a kind person. He'll admit he isn't the best person on the planet to give advice, but he'll gladly lend you his shoulder, help you carry your burden whatever it may be, and give a listening ear. He never really expects anything in return for his actions, be it helping a neighbor out by carrying their groceries, arriving early at work for no extra pay, or run half way across town to put together some Ikea furniture with a helpless buddy. He genuinely wants to leave the world a better place than he found it. Perhaps the treatment from several of his friends might have lowered his standards of people, but he'll always show twice the gratitude when somebody does him a favor.

Emotional #nofilter - If there's one thing Chris isn't afraid of it's showing his feelings. Which the exception of anger, which he handles very poorly, he's very open and clear about his emotions. He's happy? He's gonna be smiling. You're sad and need some support? Chris is here to hug you. A family member just died? Let the tears roll! Whether you consider this a good thing or a bad thing depends entirely on your situation. While not one for overreacting, intentionally at least, Chris does have the habit of getting swept up in certain emotions and situations. Sure, his lack of filtering makes him easily relatable and likable in a childlike way, but it also makes it difficult for him to control himself. If he's embarrassing you or attracting attention by openly crying in the streets, he's gonna be hell to shut up.

So positive it might as well be denial - You know, Chris doesn't want to think of being fired as, you know, an absolutely horrible thing that prevents you from paying your bills that are weeks overdue. No, this is an opportunity! This is how Chris' mind tends to work. Is this denial or bullheaded optimism? Quite frankly I don't know. Perhaps the boy's desperate wish that everything can be worked out, that there is a fairy tale ending out there, cloud his mind and judgment of the situation, or maybe he's plain lying to your face to keep your spirits up. One thing's for certain; Chris' view of the world is a bit screwed.

Anxious clouds rain upon his head - Okay, so this might sound odd, but despite being positive a la Winnie the Pooh, Chris is the biggest worrywart. By nature he's a cautious boy. He's careful with his words and doesn't want to stir up too much trouble. Despite doing his best not to cause trouble for both himself and others, there's still this little anxious shadow that stalks him. Did he screw up again? "Maaaaaybe it's best for eveyone if I don't attend this party. They say I don't talk much anyway. I'm not fun...". The dark figure has grown darker and bigger over the years, but Chris fights it as much as he can. He refuses to let it take over his life. He's aware he's exaggerating the situation, but he can't entirely help it...

Hypocrite of justice - While meek gentle giant Chris will keep his tongue to himself most of the time, he isn't one to stand by while others suffer. If he sees abuse, he's the first one to spring into action. He'll gladly use his body and size to end a fight, and convince them with all the air in his lungs that whatever is going on here isn't worth causing harm. In fact you might as well say that Chris hates people who hurt other human beings and animals. Screw your property rights; you were starving three dogs to death. They had to break inn and get them out. It was for the greater good! There's a reason why Chris has done a lot of volunteer work. But oddly enough though his reactions towards violence is extreme when it comes it others, he seems completely fine with receiving a beating himself. Perhaps all the years of being ignored by his family and physical and verbal abuse from his friends has completely destroyed his sense of self worth... "If it's not me, then it would be someone else. Rather me, a friend, than a stranger down the street".

Likes and hobbies

The best thing Chris can do on a Saturday is going to the movies. He loves all sorts of entertainment. Books, video games, board games... you name it! He does it!

As a fun note; whenever mom isn't home, Chris does most of the cooking. This is the only thing Roger praises Chris regularly for.

Chris is an absolute sucker for sweets. Offer him food and he'll jump through a hoop. He talks about restaurants, take out places and cafes... a lot.

Dislikes and avoidance

Dead afraid of needles. He doesn't care if you need to give him a life saving vaccine or a blood transfusion. He'd rather take a bullet to the head.

Hidden talents

Chris knows how to dance most excellently.

Chris can flawlessly switch between 3 different dialects.

Side characters and friends

For now this lil thing only contains brief summaries. More details will be added later.

Bruno Perez // 28 years old, smooth and long hair, deep tan, whitest teeth on the planet and barely 5'3 // - Bruno and Chris have been friends for a couple of years now, but Chris refuses to talk about how the two met. Sensitive topic apparently. This short Brazilian firecracker is currently working as a police officer for the NYPD, and is Chris' strongest support pillar. They regularly meet up during the week to catch a coffee, eat out, bowl or go for a couple of rounds of air hockey and drinks.

Bruno's personality can be summed up in three words; loud, companionable and loose. Though English isn't his first language, he's twice or thrice more well articulated than Chris and he ain't afraid to flaunt it. He loves to hear himself talk, but he also likes to make sure other around him are comfortable. Honestly he'd make a great social worker if it wasn't for his short fuse. Though willing to compromise, he's also very impatient and isn't afraid to call out someone's bullshit.

He's currently in a relationship with this Romanian chick named Marina, and have been for years, but as it goes their love life is beyond stormy and full of drama. Apparently they like it that way and break up and get together again at least two times a week.

Goose // Grey, silky fur, black eyes and perhaps a bit fat... okay, fat. Very fat // - Did you know that Chris owns a chinchilla? Well, now you do! Goose, who's been with Chris since he began elementary school, is a wonderfully behaved critter. Most often found sitting on Chris' shoulder or bunking in his hoodie, he is rather lazy for a chinchilla. But who can blame him? He's over 20 years old! Not one to spook easily, he's often featured on Chris' let's play channel as both a second commentary (he talks back when you ask him questions) and a means to calm down when things get too scary.

Aspen Montgomery // Brushed up haircut, supports a full Bandholz beard, never seen in anything but plated flannel, smells terribly Canadian // - Believe it or not, Aspen went to the same art college and class as Chris for many years, and they're currently both volunteering at the same animal shelter. Outside of that, the two rarely associate one on one... mostly because Chris can't stand the whole 'misunderstood artist' thing he got going on. Honestly! The guy has to realize at some point he ain't got the talent for painting. Beyond that, the two get along amazingly well. Aspen is fantastically laid back despite his bragging and haughty speech, and he's more than willing to help Chris expand his social circle. Chris in return offers a listening ear and great cake picking while wandering the streets of New York.

It should be mentioned that Aspen is a super; someone with superhuman abilities. While his art career is still in progress and 'building', Aspen works freelance for a government team of superheroes to pay his rent. It's unclear what kind of ability he has, but it's powerful enough for the state to call him in when hell breaks loose. He doesn't deal with bank robberies or gang shootings. Aspen takes on the big fish; the super villains and mad scientist and invaders from space. Oddly enough he rarely talks about this job even though he lives for attention. You'd think a man would play the 'I'm a friggin' 6-packing, drop dead gorgeous and cool superhero'-stick before the 'woe is me why won't people buy my abstract sketches of fat pugs'.

The most general stuff

Background and shortened bio of the modern day universe

Aldrin Powers was born in New York City, Christmas Day, 1972, at a general hospital, and has been hailed as Messiah in his family ever since. Though selectively mute throughout his childhood and early teens, he was of large stature, better built than those around him, able to comprehend concepts far beyond his age, inventive, kind and overall just more talented than most. Why? Turns out Aldrin was a super: someone with incredible abilities that normally would only show up in a comic book. Rather than inheriting his father's super-strength, Aldrin's perception of time was altered, which allows his brain to process things in much more detail. His life was literally going nearly 4 times slower than us, giving him much more time to think things through, memorize and take in his surroundings. Life was looking good...

... and it still is. Aldrin's life has been nothing but great achievements after great achievements. Elementary school was a walk in the park, junior high was entirely skipped in favor of two years of travel, highschool was breezed through in a single year, and college? Mostly booze, women who threw themselves at his feet for his good looks, and high grades he didn't even work for, but with everything done Aldrin was quick to permanently leave the nest and the rule of his father in order to start his own business with no outside help. At 20 years old Aldrin began pursuing his passion: building and prototyping cars, planes and other means of transport. Not 5 years later he opened a second business devoted to building equipment meant specifically to withstand supers, or alternatively restrain them. He's still on the front of this field nearly 20 years later, and his help with the PGZ (project Generation Zero) pill is nothing short of revolutionary.

Strangely enough his solitary nature persists to this day, and he remains unmarried, uncommitted and happily single in his small apartment upstate. He literally hasn't done anything but work since he left home. How boooooring...

Family and relationships

Roger Powers, father - Aldrin can't stand his father. Aldrin doesn't handle being told what to do very well, much less when it's all done for show or simply appearing better than everyone else. Despite having been showered with adoration from his daddy for the majority of his life, Aldrin feels he owes Roger absolutely nothing. He wants to achieve things on his own, and he can't do that with somebody helicoptering over his shoulder 24/7. Probably more aware of Roger and his way of thinking than most, Aldrin is more than happy to fight his father when he can. Blood matters little to this justice bomb.

Cindy Powers, mother - Aldrin and Cindy don't get along anywhere as good as his little brother. He mostly calls his mother out of obligation. It's not that he dislikes her or anything, but he just doesn't feel that terribly attached. He's been trying to encourage his mother to divorce Roger for many years, especially now that dad has gotten back into the 'villain', but his pleads for reason simply get ignored. If she's mad enough to stick with Roger, it's her own damn fault.

Courtney Powers, younger sister - Courtney is dumb, obnoxious and he swears to God not related to him. Courtney on the other hand looks up to Aldrin like he's a rockstar, and texts him a lot.

Christian Powers, younger brother - Chris is Aldrin's special little snowflake and precious puppy. Chris can do no wrong in Aldrin's eyes, and he entirely blames all of Chris' issues on dad. Though he may appear distant to the young man, he's anything but.

Body

Appearance

Aldrin is unnaturally tall. 7'1 feet! HOLY CHRIST!!!! He has huge issues entering buildings and being inside in general as he likes to straighten his back and hold his head high. Worst of all: he isn't even classified a giant because his hormonal levels have been stable all his life and he has grown consistently. He's horribly jealous of shorter people.

Aldrin has bright green eyes, just like his papa and mama. They're on the smaller side and he always appears to be squinting. He may or may not be in need of glasses.

He looks spookily a lot like his papa, hawk nose, thick brows, prominent cheekbones, wide mouth and skin that tans easier than most. If he wasn't 16 years younger and in better shape, one wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Aldrin is more frequently mistaken for being Roger's brother than son.

Aldrin loves his suits. Suits everyday. No skipping. Casual suits only for very, very casual occasions. Novelty suits? He may just have a closet full. He also had a soft spot for brightly colored socks with gaudy patterns.

Aldrin's face is hopelessly expressionless. At most he raises his eyebrows when surprised, or lowers them when displeased, but otherwise it's impossible to tell that he is thinking. Most likely his brain works too fast for his face to keep up.

Aldrin, like the rest of his family, is blonde of the more golden variety. Unintentionally he sports the same haircut as his father, mostly because he claims everything else looks stupid on him. Soooo... Aldrin always got his hair swept back, with the front high.

Aldrin is the only child who doesn't have freckles, and secretly he wishes he had them because he thinks they're cute.

Aldrin consistently shaves everyday as his beard is in fact white! That general area of his face lacks color! Nobody wants to look like a Jersey Shore Santa. He's already intimidating enough.

Health

Aldrin here is in rather good shape. He works out everyday, and he has no illnesses as far as he's aware. He rarely becomes sick too... Well, he could use a trip to get his eyes checked. He's somewhat nearsighted.

Interestingly enough Aldrin struggles with bouts of selective mutism, despite being otherwise confident and happy with his life. Usually this spouts up when Aldrin is faced with things that overload his senses, most often in big crowds.

Mind

Personality

It's not what he says, but what he does - Fact: Aldrin, despite being perfectly able to read others and pick up on cues most others ignore, has a hard time expressing his own feelings. Not only does his face refuse to match up with that he wants to express, but his mouth doesn't cooperate much with his brain. Sure, something comes out and it's never insulting, but it doesn't carry the weight Aldrin tries to put onto it. So rather than saying 'good work, I'm proud of you!' with a grin on his face, Aldrin pats your back a few times and gives you something associated with the achievement you've claimed, maybe a new tie to celebrate you getting a raise. He finds being subtle a complete waste due to his communication troubles, so he tends to go out of his way whenever he tries something. At times he can seem a bit overbearing and perhaps a bit strange due to this behavior, but that can't really be helped. Why does he have this issue though? Who... knows? Perhaps the way he perceives time puts a filter on what comes out, or maybe he really is this awkward by nature? It's hard to tell, and he's incapable of telling you himself.

Spiked shield - Aldrin find the notion that blood relations makes somebody automatically important in your life absolutely ridiculous. Why subject yourself to an unkind father, or do as your siblings request specially when they're asking for something unreasonable? No, for Aldrin what matters is the connection. Friends are more family than his family, and because he thinks so highly and purely about those he cares about, Aldrin is willing to stop at nothing to please and assist them. Oh, you think you're loyal and devoted because you keep going out of your way? Hmmmm? Well, Aldrin here will hide that dead body for you, and he will not question why. He will provide you with an alibi, and he'll bribe the whole universe or crack a skull himself should somebody dare question you or suspect anything. And he will do it without expecting the same. If it appears he doesn't care, you can bet your butt it's because he bides his time. He is a vengeful spirit towards those who harm his loved ones. He'll will the world into submission if he has to.

#betterThanU - Modesty? What is that word? Aldrin doesn't know. Though he has troubles putting words on things and he doesn't know what good he can do for his friends, Aldrin is prone to arrogance and thinking he knows better than you. He is - both by nature and nurture - condescending, and can you honestly blame him? He's used to being the best at what he does and when he says he knows something, he genuinely means it. Why should he not lay out his achievements when you ask for them? Why should he keep quiet and not stand proudly about the things he knows? If he can do something better than you, why should he sit there and watch you continually fail over and over? Just get down from that chair. Aldrin will take that jar down. You'll break a leg if you keep doing that. Let him open that as well. You can't even open a door right, much less a jar. There, all good! You enjoy those cookies now... oh, great. Now they're upset. Oddly enough Aldrin isn't afraid to encourage others to brag about their successes too. There have been times he has been brought to art galleries with a group, only to start a conversation with a stranger talking about how his friend that came with can make far better paintings. Everyone should know how good Aldrin's friend is. There is no shame in boasting as long as you can stand for it.

Happy in his own company - Aldrin likes being alone. When there's nobody around to offer distractions, he is at his happiest. It gives him time to think properly, draw out his ideas and generally mediate about his life in peace. His own company is really more than enough for him at times, and it's not unusual for Aldrin to seclude himself away for weeks in the middle of nowhere. People are faaaaar too draining to be around constantly. Low volum = goodness. The radio counts as people too. Yuck. Just some wind is perfectly fiiiiine.

What do you mean beheading him is excessive? - Aldrin is a patient man. Not a whole lot of things upset him, but my god is he long term angry and stays that way. He doesn't easily forget, and the more he ponders the more upset he becomes. Everything tends to pile up for him, and when the line is crossed he's prone to get even. He likes revenge. It's his form of justice.

Likes and hobbies

Rats are terribly cute. Aldrin wants a rat. q w q

Aldrin is super weak for girly drinks and iced coffee. The more you can decorate it with pretty things, the more likely Aldrin is to order it.

Dislikes and avoidance

Gawd, does Aldrin hate talking on the phone without a face cam. You can't hear a nod through a speaker, now can you???

CATS. NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE GETTHATTHINGAWAYFROMALRINDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. Aldrin is dead afraid of felines. He was horrible mauled several times as a child, and he still to this day has night terrors about Katie.

People remember what he looks like, but hardly ever his name. WHAT IS SO HARD ABOUT THE NAME ALDRIN??? IT'S ONLY 6 LETTERS. IT'S NOT THAT HAAAAARD.

Hidden talents

Aldrin can balance almost anything on his forehead.
