When Alionse went into the woods along, his intention hadn't been to go after an Olrawk. No, his intention was to find a Ysali dragon and lead it away from the pack, and tried to fight it on his own. Yes, he might have failed miserably when he had fought the three Ysali before, but he was sure he could at least beat the small dragon if it was just one-on-one. He even brought a small bit of fish to try to lure it from the group. He was all set, but by the time it started to grow a bit darker, there was still no sign of the small dragon.

Frustrated, Alionse turned to head home when he heard it - a low raspy hooting sound. Curious, he followed the sound. He kept his wings tight to his body, but didn't hide them. He wanted them out just in case he needed to make a fast escape. He ducked low until he finally saw. Black as night with leathery wings was an Olrawk.

It must have just come out due to the growing darkness. Alionse watched it. Something about it held him. Likes everyone else, he had heard the legends of how the Olrawk were created by Seren to warn the Orderites of when an Oblivionite was near. He had always been curious what the song sounded like, but never heard it. He even read up about them. How they liked fish and seeds. He had even studied their nesting places in the hopes of catching one, but had abandoned the idea after deciding to be a Engineer. But now...

Why shouldn't I catch one? One day I'll be a Warrior and it'll be perfect to have to warn me of Oblivionite soldiers.

Feeling a wave of excitement go through him, Alionse set out to do just that. Quietly he pulled out the fish that he originally had in order to catch dragons, not to lure the Olrawk. Glancing at the distance between them, Alionse moved to a tree just across from the bird. With the finesse of a boy his age and a surprising amount of stealth, he climbed the tree, reaching the top.

He wasn't quiet enough, though, because the bird twisted around, it's wings spread as if it was about to take off. Wait! Alionse started to shout, but caught himself in time enough to stop from saying it out loud. Instead he held out the fish. The Olrawk paused. Someone must have been feeding the bird before for it to do that instead of running away. It leaned forward, intent on the bit of fish.

Alionse kept perfectly still and wait. Hoping it would take the bait.

The Olrawk hopped closer, not quite crossing the gap between the trees. Alionse leaned just a little bit further, his arm outstretched in the air. The Olrawk leaned forward, taking the fish.

Alionse grinned. "Gotcha."

The bird must have be startled by the words, because it started to leap back, but Alionse was moving at the same time. He jumped forward, spreading his pink wings in a soft glide over the gap as he quickly grabbed the bird and wrapped his arms tightly around it. As he did he tumbled out of the tree slamming against the ground with a thunk. Pain lashed through his body, but he didn't loosen his grip. Slightly breathless, he laughed in disbelief.

I caught it!
