Conrad was living a quiet life in his village raising his two children as a single father until one day people in the village began mysteriously dying. The village blamed the deaths on his two children due to their unusual eyes calling them the children of the devil. Fearing for his children's lives Conrad fled with his children in tow to the only place he knew they would not be followed, the Black Moon Manor a place shrouded in mystery and dark secrets. What fate awaits Conrad and his children there.

Age: 27
Personality: Conrad is a good father but extremely pragmatic, he will do anything to keep his children safe. Even if it's to the point of needing to kill a man, or selling his body.
Background: Conrad's marriage to the village leader's daughter was a cause of great celebration, that is until the twins were born with their mismatching eyes, and his wife died of illness soon after. After that he was banished to the outskirts of the village where he lived peacefully with his children, for awhile at least.

Subaru looked out his window towards the village and shook his head. There had been an unrest among the people, a mysterious illness had taken hold and many of the villagers were dying. most likely they blamed it on dark magic or some nonsense like that. Not that Subaru had much room to talk, his very existence was do to that kind of nonsense. He was just tired of the humans blaming his kind or their like for common human occurrences. he idly wondered who would be sacrificed this time, either as an offering to some god or the unlucky soul they blamed for the deaths. either way it had little meaning to him. Humans were born and died every day, what was one or two more? He moved back to his chair and sat down, reading by the light of the flickering candle by his side.

Subaru turned the page when he heard something he hadn't heard in many, many years. a knock on the door. the man frowned, looking towards the entrance in disbelief, but there was no mistake. He closed his eyes and breathed deeply, scenting the air around him. Humans, three distinct scents. All male, though two were most likely children, they had yet to develop the scents that puberty would bring. He almost ignored it, but his curiosity was peaked.

Subaru closed the book and stood. He could have one of his 'servants' answer the door, but that would take too long. he wanted to see who dare knock on the door of Black Moon Manor in the middle of the night. It didn't take him long the reach the front door and he took another deep breath.

Fear, no, terror radiated from the man, stinking up the entrance and Subaru lifted an eyebrow. He opened the door and saw a rather beautiful, by human standards, man holding two sleeping children. he looked desperate, which a man would have to be to knock at Subaru's door. "You do realise that it is rude to pay a visit in the middle of the night, do you not?" he asked, lifting his eyebrow higher, "though, by the sounds in the forest, i believe you had no choice." he could hear men searching, calling out to each other and Subaru had a pretty good idea who the sacrifice was going to be. "so my question for you is why shouldn't i simply close my door and leave you to whatever fate you seem to be running from?"

Anything? Such a bold word. Cleaning and cooking meant nothing to him, he had his 'servants' for that, but there were many things his servants could not provide. Subaru slowly grinned, his sharp teeth glinting in the candle light as his eyes slowly moved down the man's body. His red eyes met golden and he stepped aside, "Men lie, but there is no falseness within your eyes. You may enter, but know this. I have allowed you into my home on a whim and nothing more than that can send you right back out. Your pleas interest me, and precious little about your kind does that. Keep me interested and you and your...spawn, may stay."

He finally looked at the two children and wondered what he was doing. From what he saw at a distance, human children were loud and ran around all day annoying everyone around them. if these two turn out to be the same, he would most likely kill them. By the look in the father's eyes, that meant he'd have to kill him too. it mattered not.

"Come. I will show you where you may lay them down. There are many rooms, but i can see they will not be separated," even asleep, the two's bond was strong. "my servants are preparing a room down the hall from mine. they will sleep there." he had sent the shadow like creatures to the task as soon as he'd decided to keep the humans.

Subaru lead the way to the room, he chose the one down the hall since they would be near enough he could keep an eye on them, but far enough away so as to not bother him. he walked to the door which was opened by one of his servants, the beasts sensing their master drawing nearer. since there would be humans staying here, they had lit a fire to warm the room and had the bed that was large enough for three adults, four if they were cozy, ready to lay the children down. they had even turned down the covers, something Subaru had read about many times. he nodded and the servants disappeared into the shadows, off to complete their other chores.

"this will be the children's room. they will be tended to by the servants. do they-" he frowned a little and lifted an eyebrow, not knowing at what age children stopped wearing those cloth things and used a toilet properly. "will they need changing?" he asked, not liking there was something he didn't know.

Subaru shook his head, "you shall not be with them at all times. how shall you repay me for staying should the children be in the way? unless, of course, you wish them to see." he smiled darkly, "though i doubt that." once again he nodded to the bed, "place them to rest and follow me. you shall not spend your nights here." there was something he'd read about many, many times. something he'd never experienced and wished to try and here was a chance to do just that. he wanted to do it now, before the human had a chance to rethink his choices and try to run.

Subaru watched the man put his children to bed and cocked his head slightly. the show of affection was strange to him. to stroke their hair was unusual, but the kiss was what confused him. were all humans like this? he turned when the man said he was ready and lead the way out and down to his personal bedroom. the room was huge. the bed was easily twice the size of the one that the twins were currently in. there was a large desk on which were neat piles of papers and books with ink and pen ready and waiting to be used. "prepare for bed and lay down," he instructed and he moved to his closet and removed his shirt and pants. he tended to sleep in as little as possible, so simply being in his underwear was enough. he turned to see if the human had obeyed. he was excited to try his little experiment, but didn't show a thing as he coldly observed his guest.

Subaru nodded when the man got into bed. "on your side," he instructed softly and he moved to the soft sheets. he slid under the blankets and hesitated. this was it. he was actually going to do it. his heart beat faster as he moved closer. he slowly placed his hand on the human's waist and pulled him back as he moved so they were what he'd learned to be called 'spooning'. Subaru shifted a bit, not sure what to do with his arms before wrapping one around the human's torso and the other under his pillow.

Subaru sighed softly and felt himself relaxing. this was...nice. far more that he'd even imagined. no wonder so many characters of his books would sleep like this or even just 'cuddle' at random times. he still wasn't too sure about all of this, but the human's warmth made it even better. "sleep well..." he frowned unsure of the human's name and just left the sentence hanging
