Maya is 6ft tall and weights about 160lbs. She is build like the Amazonian Female warrior of legend, she is tall, lean and muscular. Due to her mixed heritage, leading her to have jet black hair, so dark it seems to blueish under certain lighting, retaining her Asian facial structure but her eyes are brilliant blue. Although having perfect eyesight, she wears a pair of black rimmed horned glasses to take some attention away from her eye color. She is not beautiful nor ugly, she just look normal and decently okay, to some, they may say otherwise ...not that she bother about how she looks like.

Maya is quiet and rather observant of her surrounding, she is rather sarcastic still she will normally control herself from making snarky comments. Smarter than average people or so she seems, she can be very playful in a her speech and somewhat a tease to the males. During a 'job' she is focus and can be rather unorthodox and some times down right cruel with her method of completing it.

Maya was born out of wedlock and was quickly abandoned at the door step of an orphanage. Growing up in an orphanage taught Maya that people are mean and that no one will be there to pity her or help her, she can only rely on herself. At the age of ten, Maya soon realize she was different from the other children in the orphanage...she able to manipulate shadows. Knowing very well that if she goes around telling everyone, might get her into all kind of trouble even being locked up in her room or something.
The Orphanage was very poorly funded and there were many times, the child had to go to school without breakfast or go to bed without dinner. During such a day, as she was waiting for the train, Maya was so hungry and she noticed a man with his wallet in his back pocket and it was so crowded. Decided to try her luck, Maya with the help of her gift, she managed to pickpocket that man, the moment she took the wallet, she ran away as fast as she could. Running out of the station and a few blocks down, she stopped in a dark alleyway to catch her breathe. Before she could check her loot, a deep male voice spoke behind her, informing her that stealing was not nice, Maya turned and see the man she had pick pocket from. He commented that she had talent, if given proper training, she would fair better also...her gift, that surprised Maya. That man than offered her that he would trained her and teach her everything she needed to know, in return she would do his bidding. He added or she could go back to the sorry Orphanage and be a hungry poor orphan, that resonated inside Maya. She agreed to go with him. He never did told her his name but she was instructed to refer him as 'Master' and nothing else.
Her Master was a man that was hard to please, no matter how hard she worked, he always still told her that she still can do much more. He pushed her limits and challenge her to beat her own record. Her Master is a mercenary and he was training her to be one as well. Her daily goal was to beat her Master in their sparring session, Maya trained hard and picked up what her Master could teach her fast. When her Master gave her, her first 'job', what was needed of her was to burn down the very Orphanage, she once lived in. Maya was astonished but she shallows up all her feelings, she did what she had to, the moment she lit the fire, all her innocence was burn along with the building and she seal her conscience, so it will never be in the way. Maya soon got use to doing her task as a Mercenary, ten years into her training her Master mentioned that she cannot go around with her real name, so he gave her alias; 'Nyx' after the Greek goddess of the night due to her ability. Her Master than informed her that he had taught her everything he knew and it is about time, she venture into the world on her own.
The next day, her Master was no where to found, Maya took her belongings and left as well. Three years later, Maya found herself in Jump city as she was waiting for her next job, she caught the wind that Joker had took over the city and such. Now she wonder what fun can she get out all this.

She is able changes the weight, shape and destiny of the shadows around her. Her ability allows her to travel within the shadow for a short distances, provide her with hiding place within the dark corners.

She is skilled in mix martial arts or as she may say, she fights dirty. Maya is more than capable to fend herself in fight when needed.
- Skilled Marksmanship
Her Master taught her how to handle guns, crossbows and bow, she is able to hit her target with 80% of accuracy.
- Hacking
Another skill that she was taught by her Master was hacking but she is not skill enough to hack Wayne enterprise or FBI for that matter, anything else is piece of cake for her.
- Above average intellect
She is not super smart, she is just slightly smarter than the average person, which allows her to analysis her surrounding and allow her to stay a few steps ahead.

She is a predator and she is very use to the waiting game by now. She has two options, one is to pray that the real Nyx or any Gods is on her side, she make a run for it by foot or she can uses the shadow to take her to somewhere safer. Some where, she will not be seen and can plan her next move. Well...what do you know the Gods are on her side tonight...or at least right now, the smokescreen is just what she needs if she is going to run but the shadow stops her. Nyx's attention is direct at Voix by the shadows...call her psychic or whatever, she has a feeling this girl may be useful in the future. Just a gut feeling and the shadows are being a damn nag about her. As the smoke is starting to clear, Nyx losses her chance to leave without being seen but she always have the aid of the shadow. Before she leave, she uses her PDA and take a photo of Voix. With that the shadow tentacles wrap around her and pulls her away. Nyx drops out of the shadow in the alleyway two blocks away, she cracks her neck slightly and gets ready to move on. " Look what the cat drag in, boys?" A male voice spoke from behind her, " Great..." Nyx mumbles in irksome, she turns to face the group of...from the shadow count...five men, " What can I do for you gentlemen this fine night?" Nyx questions with a certain smug, " You do not look like one of those bats...are you those poor hero-wannabes?" The beefy man questions, from what Nyx can tell these are Joker's men, " Do I look like a good girl to you? Wait till you find out...I am so much more." She teases them with a playful wink, the leader group smirks and reaches out at Nyx but the shadow wraps around his beefy arm in place, " Ah-ah-ah," she says as she shakes her index finger from side to side, " No touchy," she adds. The beefy man tries to pull his arm free from the shadow but fails, fear and panic start to spread on his face, he turns to his men, " Don't just stand there," he bellows. Nyx sighs slightly, " Oh, I don't know... 'Mista J' will not be happy," the teenager says with an evil grin. The tallest among the group reaches her first, she blocks a right hook with a high left block, Nyx hammers hard with the base of her hand into the the man's ribcage. The tall man drops on the floor, Nyx grins wider at the rest of the men, they starts to panic. Nyx does a round-house kick at the next man, four shadow spines form around Nyx, she kicks the spines at the two furthest men, pinning them to the wall. The one she kick has recover and coming at her with a metal baseball bat, shadows swirls around Nyx when it drops a pair of Moorish scimitar appears in her hands. Nyx blocks the baseball bat with one blade and she smashes her skull into the man's, causing him to be disorientated and staggers backwards towards a wall, where shadows tentacles grab him and held him to the wall. Nyx turns her attention to the beefy man, she places her blade on the man's neck, she taps her chin as if she is thinking what she should do to him, she than says dangerously, " Now if Joker get to know of this, I will track down each and everyone of you gentlemen and your families, I will slowly torment them and make you watch...so do I make myself clear?" tears gather at the beefy man's eyes, he mutters in defeat, " Yes..." " Good..." Nyx says, she knocks the man out cold by hitting him at the pressure point at the back of his neck with the hilt of her blade. Nyx drops the Moorish scimitar back into the shadows, she dust her trench coat and makes her way to the museum...she feels so much better after some work-out. ׺°”˜`”°º× ׺°”˜`”°º×׺°”˜`”°º× ׺°”˜`”°º×׺°”˜`”°º× ׺°”˜`”°º× ~I am the dark...wait...that's Batman's line...oh well~ ׺°”˜`”°º× ׺°”˜`”°º×׺°”˜`”°º× ׺°”˜`”°º×׺°”˜`”°º× ׺°”˜`”°º× ~HP: 100% | Company: Joker's men| Mood: This is fun!~ Occ: To those who wanna know how Nyx drop the first guy, she used the Hammer Fist in Ninjutsu....
