Did you leave the cupcakes out the whole time or keep them in the refrigerator? My Mom has started keeping the cakes/cupcakes she makes in the refrigerator rather than just out on the counter because it makes them stay moist longer.

I definitely would suggest for the future to store cupcakes (and cake) in the fridge when they're not being served, that way they stay nice and moist for a longer period of time. 3nodding
