Fight in the Marketplace! RP between Lasarra & Rayolun
The people of Tendaji seem to be settling in - and some in places far from their homeland. The tensions are high, and with the whispers of the Alkidike planning an offensive… well, some have been on edge and ready for a fight. Were the outsiders going to help their people when the time came to fight the extremist Alkidike? Most of the natives to the area had their doubts.
An argument had broken out in the market, verbal at first, but it wasn’t long before it became a physical confrontation.
This prompt can be played from either side: your character can be the instigator, or on the defense.
This battle prompt will be resolved by rolling 1D100. Stage 2 must roll 60-100 for success. (Lasarra) Stage 3 must roll 50-100 for success. (Rayolun)

They were headed home, and for that she couldn't be more thankful, however she was serious about getting presents for her sister's children. She still didn't have all of her strength back, but she had a new whip and her body was slowly getting back to where it was, and that was all she could ask for. This would be their last day in the dessert, in Oba, and she was happy for it.
"What do you think about this?" she asked as she picked up a stuffed animal that was in the shape of a Xaraan. She wasn't sure what to get the children, they didn't know the genders or the exact age of them, which was becoming a problem, but she didn't want to come home empty handed.
There was another problem however. The whole time at the market there were eyes on her. Two shifters would have stood out in the market, but it was clear that Lasarra wasn't even a full shifter. Her pure black eyes stood up, and she had heard mutters of issues with Alkidikes. She didn't think that her kind would be stirring up trouble all the way over here, but it seemed they were. However Lasarra was ignoring it. She felt safe with Rayolun by her side, and they weren't going to be there for much longer. They just had to pick out gifts and be on their way.
Rayolun was not too happy about being in the oban village... and was equally unhappy about the whispers and stares! But because Lasarra insisted on buying presents (why not just bring back a pelt or odd rocks or shells?) for her unknown nieces and nephews.. he had simply followed her.
It had allowed him to trade for some supplies and get a few questions in about Janarim while he waited for her to pick out items so it was worth while.
"Uh... plushies would probably be good. Boys and girls like them right?" As a child the only real toy he had had been a carved radaku. He and his uncle had been more concerned with survival and living in the wilds so Rayolun had not had much of a childhood. If it'd been up to him, he;d probably just make them all knives and teach them how to hunt or something....
His trident was causally leaned against his shoulder, easy to move if someone made any attack. Obans were still foes in his eyes; and until Lasarra was completely healed he was not taking chances.

Is it fine if the animals they left in a camp outside the village? Or we shall we have them here?.

She nodded, handing over enough money for two plushies. The people they killed had a good sum of money on them, and Lasarra had no problem spending their gold. The Oban trader eyed her wearily but took the money quickly enough. She smiled friendly enough and took Rayolun's arm.
"Did you get the information you needed? I think it's time to go." she muttered under her breath to him. The stares were getting more obvious and she was feeling more and more uncomfortable. She put the plushies in her bag and had her whip in her hand, just in case. She was hoping they would be able to leave without a fight.
"Hey, are you one of the bug people?" a rough voice called out from behind them.
"Let's not answer, come on." she had her share of altercations in her past, but she didn't think after the war there would be many. The sooner the two of them got out of there the better.

Yea that works best. I guess we can have them get into a fight with two people and one she knocks to the ground and the other gets away or something since he lost and she won, which is pretty ironic.
"I did get directions and some information on oasis locations. Also a bit more information on Eino." He smiled at her; he'd finally gotten around to naming the janarim. His smile quickly faded at the rude question. His hand tightened on the shaft of his trident briefly before he forced himself to relax.
Studious ignoring them; yeah she had some features of Alkidike.. but the bug people were completely different form Alkidikes! Alkidikes were more.. plant folk, he thought. Nothing at all like the Dretch. They don't know about the Dretch so of course they'll call Alkidikes bugs, he tried to rationalize.
"If they do anything I'm not holding back." He muttered under his breath.

She nodded. An oasis was important, they had a good while before they reached home so they would need to stop at one or two oasis, that way they could stock up on water. It would be horrible to die of thirst after all that she had been through. "That's good. I was thinking of getting a janarim myself. What do you think?" she asked curiously. The creatures were interesting, and why not start back up her collection while she is in Oba. There was a chance she wouldn't be able to get these creatures once she left, at least not easily.
"Nothing will be done. They are ignorant. It'll be fine." she reassured him softly. She wasn't in the best condition to be fighting and she didn't want him to get into a fight either.
"Look, there is a stall over there." she said as she pointed toward where a rather large collections of animals were. The man in front didn't seem to be looking at her like the other merchants did, so she hoped it would be a fair sale.
"Hey! I'm talking to you!" the voice called out again.

I was thinking the sale could happen after the fight? Or do you think before?
"Well.. since we are here, you might as well get one of your own." He smirked; he had not expected her to wait this long.. in fact he'd been expecting her to try and find a janarim on their way across Oba! "You go and talk to the shop owner." He said when it appeared that they were not going to be left alone. Maybe the ruckus can get you a cheaper price." He said as he looked over his shoulder with a scowl.
Turning, he crossed his arms and glared at the man who'd been calling out. "Does my wife look like a bug to you, fireling?"

She smiled and kissed him. "This could be my last chance." she muttered as she looked around. Oban was seeming like less and less of a safe place to be in. She nodded at him before looking back at the Oban who was speaking to her. "Please babe, try to be peaceful."
As she walked up to the merchant she heard Rayolun's comments. She rolled her eyes, this sale needed to go by fast, or there was a chance they would be running out of the market.
"Hello, I was wondering if I could purchase a janarim," she looked around until she saw one that was similarly colored to Izsha and looked pretty young, it was small but she knew the younger it was the better. The size that it was she would be able to carry it, which she might have to do if things went sour. "I was thinking that one?" The merchant looked back and then told her the price. She passed over the gold and the man warned her about some sprite that hung around it. She grabbed the janarim, nodding along. It didn't matter to her, she needed to hurry the sale along.
Turning around to get her husband she noticed that the man who had been talking was standing right in front of him, his face close to Rays. This was becoming a problem. "Honey."
"Yes, she does. That's why I said it. She's a bug and she doesn't belong here. So why don't you take your bug wife and leave. You aren't welcome here."

"No promises." He muttered back. He kept an ear open for anyone trying anything from behind; but otherwise left Lasarra to deal with the merchant. Instead he glared at the insulting man in front of him.
If Lasarra had not requested he try to be peaceful.. the man would have my Trident in him, he thought savagely.
"Do not insult my wife." His voice was low and dangerous. "I can kill you before anyone on this street can do anything. Call her bug again and you will be dead." It was a good thing he'd left Enio and Rownin back at camp; Ronwin would have taken his angry words as a signal to attack.. and Eino would have just followed along.
"You done shopping Lasara?" He asked without taking his eyes off the man. "We're going to need to leave otherwise I get to kill more Obans."

Lasarra could see the anger in both her husband and the other man. She just wanted to go, and now with a baby janarim in her arms she knew that it would be a bad idea to get into a fight. Ray's last words seemed to set the man off and she knew it was time.
"Ray..." she knew that he was defending her, but mentioning that he had killed Obans already was a bad move.
Right away the man started swinging on Rayolun, and another man came up from behind with daggers in his hands. She panicked, "Um.... Stay?" she said placing the janarim on the floor. It looked up at her and didn't move. That was good, she didn't want to have to chase it down. She had tied up her whip when she picked up the janarim and now it was back in her hand.
The man that was behind the one attacking Rayolun looked like he was heading towards her. "This is a bad decision." she snarled as she locked her eyes on him. "Just leave, and take your friend with you. We were just leaving. My husband doesn't have to hurt your friend too much."
At his wife's words Rayolun tried to relax; but he really wanted to punch the offending Oban Not kill him... yet anyways. But definitely punch him.
So when the other started swinging he lashed out with will. Almost glad the other had made a move. His opponent had no weapon, so Rayolun did not use his trident... instead he put all his frustration into a solid punch straight to the jaw. He landed a nice solid hit, and seeing the other one stagger back made him feel better. To ensure that he didn't get back up and try to attack again, Rayolun took a quick step to grab him and picked him up to throw him into what looked like stacked boxes leaning precariously against a wall. He smirked as the boxes collapsed on top of the oban. That should hold him for a while. He turned back and used his foot to flip his fallen trident back into his hands. "Oh a weapon.. so terrifying! Such tiny daggers; I'm so scared. You sure you want to fight me with those?" He mocked.

While Rayolun threw the man against the boxed the man coming towards Lasarra finally reached her. She rolled her eyes and used all the strength that she had to hit him across the face with the whip. A long red line quickly appeared and he dropped his weapons to clutch at his face. "You b***h!" the man screamed, falling to the floor.
"Honey we need to go." she said again, looking between him the young janarim and the men. It didn't look like anyone else would attack, but she wasn't sure so she kept a firm grip on her whip.
Rayolun smirked as the man went down. Whips hurt quite a bit! Ironic almost, that the oban's who used whips on their slaves would get hit with one now.
He kicked the man in the back, aiming for the kidneys, before hopping over to Lasarra. "Sure thing, Lasarra." He did keep his hand on his trident this time just i case the wounded ones did stand up and try anything. "Lets try to avoid towns from now on till we get back to Jahuar." He said wryly as he waited for her to pick up her new pet. He'd offer to hold it, but best that Lasarra got the most bonding with it so it staid hers.

As soon as he was close to her and with his trident she went and picked up the janarim. "Yes. I don't think it's safe for me in any towns." she frowned at the thought. It hadn't been this bad before, what had happened while she was away?
With her arms around the janarim she headed away from the marketplace, keeping an eye out to make sure that Rayolun was next to her and that the men were still on the floor. She couldn't wait to be home.

Rayolun nodded in agreement. It was not safe in any oban town... not really. Though why had they been so aggressive towards an alkidike? Even one as shifter looking like his wife? Did the obans blame most of the war's loss on the alkidikes? Or was there something else going on?
"That's fine.. we've got what we need and can make it out of this dry land without anymore visits to towns I think. Hopefully our animal companions get along with the new little guy." He said as he looked at the small Janarim.
