So, perhaps going out patrolling the day that she got her cast removed had not been the best idea that she could have done…and how on earth did it end up that the first thing that happened when she took a few steps into the city was a cat decided she was ready to upgrade. She was now a super senshi…and boy it felt…kind of good.
Maybe even so far as it felt really good.
She felt stronger, faster and just…better.
Maybe now she could help Merlinite…or at least maybe she could…do something for him. Anything. If she couldn’t help him…maybe she could just help in healing his heart.
Wow. That was a sappy thought. Lysithea sighed and shook her head, feeling foolish for even letting that thought cross her mind. She had to stay focused…she had to…
Had to…
A powerful chaos aura was nearby and the senshi didn’t know if she wanted to run away from it…or run towards it to see if it was Merlinite…
Well…she was stronger now, so maybe it was a good time to face whatever fears she had and run towards the danger…what was the worst it could be…Painite? The senshi paled at the thought and she shook her head. No, if it was Painite…she would be much more afraid…it couldn’t be her.
It wasn’t going to be her.
At least she hoped not, as she made her way towards the aura…whoever it was. Whatever it was.

Merlinite was digging in a trash can to find something to eat, as he had gone all day without successfully stealing something, and he could not really ask for handouts from kind hearted passers by. They were, after all, generally all afraid of dragon people.
Which was odd and maybe a bit racist, but whatever.
He was not expecting to be caught in the act of his scavenging, but by the time he realized the aura was moving toward him, it had already gotten within sight. He pulled back from the trash can, but it rattled from side to side from the sudden motion.
Blushing red, which was at least slightly easier to hide since his scales and some of his skin were permanently that color, he turned to see an all too familiar face. It just had to be her. Tail drooping, eyes downcast, he sighed, then realized the aura he felt coming from her was different. He took another look at Lysithea, blinking.
"You're a super senshi now!" He said in surprise, instinct bringing him closer to her, just so he could look her over. He moved with his body low to the ground, using his front and back feet to propel himself forward quickly. He realized how he was walking, though, and straightened up to stand on his two feet, though one was clawed and the other was still in a boot.

Lysithea blinked, and finally her face split into the biggest of smiles. Well damn. Her cast was off, she managed to become a super senshi…and the first chaos aura she met just so happened to be the one she had been thinking about nonstop for the past few weeks? Damn, she had to be the luckiest senshi in the whole world right now.
“Merlinite!” The senshi threw herself at him, squeezing his larger form as tightly as she could. “I’ve been so worried about you…are you okay? How are you doing? Are you getting enough to eat? What do you eat now? Can I bring you food…Oh Merlinite…”
She wanted to kiss him all over…she wanted to take him home with her and cuddle him until the end of the earth. She just wanted…to fix everything that had happened. At least…at least he seemed to want to see her this time…so that was a good thing. He didn’t seem to resent her for what had happened to him…
He was so damn attractive…even like this. Her heart ached right now and there was just nothing that she could do about it.

The dragon youma looked at Lysithea, then guiltily cast a glance at the wobbling trash can, which was just coming to a stop, then looked back at her quickly. He offered her a thin smile, rubbing the back of his neck with one of his claws.
"Uh, I eat. I mean. Whatever I can. It's hard to, you know, get food as a... well. Me." He supposed maybe on halloween he could go out and hang with people all day, and just look like someone who was really into dressing up, but other than that he was going to have to stick to his current methods of getting food.
Scavenging and stealing.
He sat in front of her, stooping a bit and ending up shorter than her from that position, resting his arms on his knees as he looked up at her with a gentle look on his face. Despite the fangs and scales, he was still mostly just Merlinite. Somehow, he was even more gentle minded than he had been before this whole thing.
At least now he knew what he had wanted, even if he messed up getting it. He wanted to be on the White Moon's side, and he would keep hold of that feeling as long as he could. Until Chaos consumed him, he supposed, or they came to stop him.
"I'm sorry about... I mean... about before..."

Lysithea’s eyes moved to the trash can and she sighed. “You…have to eat garbage…? I…I’ll bring you food. Lots of food. You won’t have to dig through any more trash cans from now on, I promise.” Or if he did have to dig through trash cans…she would make sure there was good food inside of them…
“I might be able to hook you up with some cans full of better food…there’s a place that I know of that has the most amazing food…I could order some food from there and lay it on top of the cans and you can get it later if you wanted…that might work. Or I could just…I don’t know. I’ll find a way to get you food. I’ll do anything for you, Merlinite…”
She looked up at his face and laid a hand against it, lip trembling ever so slightly. “Why are you sorry? It was my fault…if I hadn’t been there, she would have never done this to you…I’ll find a way to make this right. I’m going to talk to everyone I know and we’ll find a way to save you…I’ll bring you to my side and you and me…”
Can be together. Unless he didn’t want to be together. He couldn’t feel the same about her as she did about him…that was such a silly thought.
And that honestly made it hurt worse.
“I’ll save you, Merlinite…I swear it.”

"Hey."
He moved to her, wrapping his arms around her. His wing folded forward as well, joining in on the hug. It had not really occurred to him before that her feelings were running in that direction for him, even with him being the way he was now. There was no reason for her to still want anything to do with him, but she remained ever dedicated to him.
It only just started to occur to him as to why.
"It's not your fault, okay? And you don't have to fix me. You don't have to worry about me. I can take care of myself, and we can help each other, okay? We'll make it work. Don't... don't be so upset about it... I don't want you to be so sad."
He hated seeing her so upset, and pushing herself to try and find a way to cure him. If she never found it, he feared she would always be disappointed, and she would suffer for it. He needed one of them to be happy, after all.
And it certainly wasn't going to be him.
"I'm already on your side, you know? I'm just... not exactly... perfect. But who is?" he laughed ruefully, backing up after a moment and looking at her pathetically. "I don't want you to get lost in all this, you know? I mean look at you. You have a lot more to offer the world than trying to fix one half dragon."

Lysithea pressed close into the hug, feeling safer and warmer than she had in a very, very long time. She didn’t say anything until he had pulled away and told her not to worry about fixing him…that he was already on her side…but…even if he was on her side…she couldn’t keep him safe and warm…she couldn’t let a half dragon live in her apartment…shoot, she wasn’t even allowed small pets, let along large half youma…
“I’m not going to give up…I’m not a quitter, Merlinite. I’ve never been a quitter so…I’ll find a way to turn you back, then you can be on our side…on my side for real. And you can have a real home again, and good food all the time and someone who…who can help take care of you and…you can be happy. Not that I’m saying you can’t be happy like you are now…but I don’t think eating out of trashcans makes anyone happy…you know?”
She swallowed and stood on her tiptoes, kissing his cheek. “I just…want to go to the movies with you when you’re all better…I want to go to the movies, and maybe take a trip to the beach…and…just spend time with you…the you who isn’t Merlinite, you know?”
If such a person even existed anymore…and how long would he be able to keep this up…how long before the chaos really overtook him and he became the monster that he looked like? Would that even be a thing? All of this…just made her so exhausted.
“But if all I get is Merlinite…I’ll be happy with that too. I think you’re great…I’ve thought that for a while now, you know?”

Merlinite smiled and shook his head, but he knew that he was not going to convince her to give up on him. He just hoped she did not take it too far, and get herself in the attention range of Painite or someone worse. As far as he knew, there was probably a whole bunch of people way worse than the General.
"Well, we'll see how it all falls out, I guess. I can't really count my chickens before they hatch, or however that goes. I'd probably eat them, anyway. Hatched or not."
He felt embarrassed.
When she asked him to the movies he looked embarrassed. She was really still crushing on him, and it made him feel guilty. He was not only older than her, but on Chaos side. And also half monster. He didn't think the civilian side of him existed any more. As far as he knew, Dennis Terry was dead.
"Yeah, I know. I just... I worry about you. Painite could have killed you because of me. Still might, if she gets the chance. I mean... I care about you, a lot, I just... don't want to be the reason you... you know. I just don't want you to get stuck like me. Or with me. Or because of me. Or whatever."

Lysithea shrugged. “Well, I like eggs too, so there’s nothing wrong with eating chickens before they hatch…if we didn’t, we wouldn’t have breakfast…” She cracked a smile, wondering if joking around would make him feel more at ease.
He was still in there, somewhere…he wasn’t just a half dragon. He was still Merlinite, still her friend…still someone she was more than willing to help save. And now that she had Arias trying to help as well…she was sure she would find something to fix him. But…maybe she shouldn’t keep promising to help…if she couldn’t find a solution…well…
She would be doing more harm than good if she kept promising so…
“Well…I’ll do my best to keep myself away as far as possible from Painite…I have no way that I want to ever, ever, ever see her again. Ever. Honestly…she is one of the most terrifying people in the world, without question…And…”
The senshi shrugged. “What happens to me, isn’t because of you. It’s because of me. If I get hurt again, it’ll be my fault, not yours. There’s no need for you to worry, I promise…I’ll do my best to take care of myself…But you have to promise the same thing. I don’t want any of my people…to try and hurt you…but if they do…I’ll find you and I’ll help. I’m stronger now, so…I can do more…I think.”
At least she hoped.

Merlinite watched her and shook his head. He could not help but smile at her relentless determination. It was surprising to know that he had friends that would be so loyal, and that they were not from the Negaverse. He had tied himself to the wrong team from the get go, that much was clear, and he imagined he would always regret that.
Since he was stuck there, at least as far as any of them knew yet.
But hey, maybe she would be able to figure out a way to de-youma him, somehow.
"Well, if you're dead set on getting yourself in trouble, then I guess I will have to hunt you down and keep an eye on you. You know, just in case. But hey, I'm not actually too worried about the White Moon. I've been pretty lucky, avoiding folks, and the ones I do run into have been nice. If I do get my butt kicked some time, though, I know who to come to."
He tried to lighten up a bit as well, offering her a lopsided, toothy grin, complimented by his fangs in a strange way. He put his claw on her arm gently.

She laughed and shook her head. “Hunt me down, hm?” It sounded really kind of romantic…in a strange…kind of serial killerish way, but…it was still…romantic all the same. “I know I’ll put a good word out there for you…to the other white moon senshi, I mean.”
Lysithea looked up at his grin and then looked down at the claw that he placed on her arm, running her fingers lightly over it.
Damn. He was just too perfect. How did he manage to make her heart race by smiling and looking dumb? Men were terrible like that.
“I um.” Her face was starting to heat up just a bit, and she figured it would really be best just to get the heck away from there at the moment. “I should maybe head out now…I’m glad I found you again…and I’ll bring some food for you next time so. So I can make sure you’re eating well…I could meet you here next week…same time…same place if you wanted? I wouldn’t mind that at all.”
She gave a little wave and pulled her arm away. “So if you want to…I’ll be here. Waiting.”
Forever. Legit.
She grinned and ran off, really, really not wanting anyone to see how red her face had become. It wasn’t anything big…just a girl and her dragon. No big deal at all.

Merlinite saw her blushing and nodded his head, pulling his hand back and clicking his claws together with his other hand in a fairly awkward gesture. Not that he thought this crush of hers would last too long, considering he was now not only older than her and on the negaverse, but also half dragon.
Not particularly handsome or flirt-with-able these days. He was not thinking much about things like that, anyway, but still. He just hoped he would not hurt her, in any sense of the word.
"Same time, same place. Not like I've got a lot else going on! I don't even have to schedule you in." He gave her a smirk, but let her run off before she had to endure any more embarrassment. He stood there for a moment, watching her go, shaking his head and sighing softly.
Whatever else it might be, for either of them, he at least knew that he could trust her. And he liked being friends with her. He was looking forward to seeing her again, and maybe, by next week, he would have some good news to share with her.
