Beliefs and Values
Prompt 3 - Solo

Summer was drawing closer and closer and the different villages around Tendaji were beginning to plan their summer festivals. It was a tradition in Tendaji - to celebrate the Gods every year in the summer when spirits were high and food was at its most abundant.

All the races had their own gods to celebrate, whatever those might have been, and every person had their own feelings one way or the other.

What did they mean to you? With the summer fast approaching, it must be somewhere (no matter how small) on everyone’s thoughts. And what are your thoughts on the other culture’s gods?

Alkidike Goddess: The Alkidikes worship the great tree Aisha as their mother and creator. While they might recognize other deities as the creators of other species, they find the pantheons of the other tribes to be foolish. They believe Aisha to be the supreme ruler. After all, she is a living, tangible part of Tendaji from which every one of their people is born. To them, this alone is enough proof of their racial superiority and entitlement to the entirety of Tendaji, not just Jauhar.

Even though Aisha had made her different, which cased to have her own share of problems growing up, Ilyra loved her Goddess. Aisha had created not only her, but the sisters that she cared about. From her mother Briella, to her hopefully still girlfriend Tahigwa, Aisha made each and every one of them. It was incredible to her, to think that Aisha made each and every one of them unique. Since summer was coming Ilyra knew that a celebration to honor Aisha would start soon, and once again she would head home to the islands. Although she was not bothered by the Earthlings and their silly Gods and Goddess, she did not care to be around them during the time they were celebrating their false Gods.

Shaking her head Ilyra took a bite from the fruit she was holding in her hand. It was sweet and she took another bite happily. She had always had a problem with the Earthlings and those they worshiped. Their Gods and Goddess were invisible, thought of but never seen. She never understood how they could think beings that they couldn't see could do anything. Aisha was different, not only was she visible but she proved time and time again how powerful and alive she was. Each youngling born from her, a unique blend of characteristics, proved that Aisha had no limits. What did their Gods do? Nothing they could prove.

"Abathur?" she called at hearing a noise bellow her. It wasn't unheard of him to sneak up and try to scare her. Her eyes narrowed as she grabbed her bow and notched an arrow. She hoped it wasn't some Earthlings trying to sneak up on her. She knew times were tough between the two of them, but she hoped it wasn't enough for them to come out and attack her while she was eating a snack. When no noise was returned from her call Ilyra moved slowly through the trees, the noise becoming louder and louder. It was slowly becoming clear that is wasn't Abathur that she hear, but indeed an Earthling. However thankfully it wasn't an Earthling that had come to attack her, actually it seemed like the man hadn't even noticed her yet.

He was a shifter, and was sitting in front of a fire. Although she knew that it wasn't right to stay and watch him, something inside of Ilyra wouldn't let her leave. She couldn't make out the words that he was saying. She strained to hear and finally heard a name, Serin. She smiled, being familiar with the name. It was what they called the Moon, their Goddess. Although she was pleased that shifters worshiped a female Goddess she still thought it was a little silly. The moon never did anything for them, sure it was real like Aisha but they couldn't touch it. They didn't come from it. The most that it did was change their color every day, and even that wasn't clear. They changed colors at night, but that didn't have to mean the moon created it. For all they knew it could be the stars, the dark sky, or something that none of them knew about. For a while she stayed there and watched him, catching every few words that he said. At first he seemed to be praying for safety, which made Ilyra frown, but then it seemed to take on a happier tone. He was asking for a child, a daughter if she wasn't mistaken. Ilyra smiled at the thought, younglings were so sweet. Untainted by the beliefs of their elders. Now that war was over they needed more younglings, more unbiased beings.

After a few more seconds Ilyra climbed away, being careful that the man didn't hear her as she left. When she was far enough away she went to the very top of the tree tops and perched on a branch, closing her eyes once she was secure. "Mother, Aisha, please help the man. I know that he isn't one of your daughters, but he seemed like a good man. Give him a daughter as strong as one of yours." she pleaded as she looked towards the direction she knew Aisha was. With a smile she opened her eyes, hopeful that Aisha would hear her plea and grant him a daughter, after all even though his Goddess didn't have the power to do so she knew that hers did. It was just a matter of Aisha finding the man worthy or not. Ilyra was sure even though Aisha wouldn't provide him with one of her daughters, but perhaps if he was worthy she would help his wife bare him a daughter. After all there as nothing Aisha couldn't do.
