 Medeia needed to get out and do something in this war, instead of sitting on her laurels. She was normally the sneaky type instead of the in your face battler, but the latter was needed. Still, she decided to attempt to sneak into the carnival grounds, and go for someone on the inside. Not because they might be weaker, but because damaging a healer would be just as bad for their morale as damaging a warrior, and make it harder for them to recover. Spotting a bright blue jester, she skulked in the shadows until she judged the time was right, and attempted to drive her dagger into his back. HP: 20

 Tannen was only just learning his place in his god's realm, to say nothing of a proper place in the war, which had come almost at the same time he had. He was already eager to prove himself to make up for his late arrival to the carnival, but he hadn't expected to be thrown into battle before his first heal!
He didn't even see the foe at first, just felt the thunk of something driving into his back. Gasping, he dropped down to the ground before the dagger could sink any deeper, nimbly twisting his body and sweeping one of his legs out in an attempt to knock his assailant off of their feet.HP: 18

Medeia was satisfied to land her blow, even if it didn't go as deep as she liked. The leg sweep sent her off balance, though she managed to keep herself from going down. She aimed to swipe her bloody dagger at him again, before he could recover from his twisting motion. HP: 18

Tannen frowned as he saw that his sweep failed to bring his opponent down, but his disappointment turned to dismay as he in turn wasn't fast enough to avoid a second slash from the dagger, this one opening a wide cut that opened his skin as well as his blue finery. Scrambling to regain his footing before he found himself even more at a disadvantage, Tannen tried the only thing he felt he could do in his weaponless position; he moved about nimbly and tried for a driving kick into the other's midsection.

Medeia started to move in on him when she was solidly punted in the stomach. She oofed, doubling over a little as air rushed from her lungs, but still flailed to try and catch his ankle with her free hand and haul him off balance while she tried to catch her breath. HP: 15

Tannen was satisfied with the oof sound his opponent made, but then found himself windmilling his arms as he felt his ankle grabbed. Planting the other foot for balance, he tried to yank his ankle away and land another kick in the direction of the pull, hopefully hitting the head.

The cursed was suddenly on the ground, head spinning, as the kick connected solidly. Shaking stars away, she tried to reach over and stab his foot angrily. HP: 11

Tannen hissed in anguish as the dagger not only hit home, but stabbed clear through to the other side of his foot. Withdrawing his foot from the painful stab, he brought his hands about in a series of ill-aimed punches; he always had been better with his feet, but now that he only had one actually serviceable one.....

Medeia smirked as her dagger hit home, and it was a wonder she kept a hold of her knife as he pulled his foot away. But as she tried to get up, punches rained down upon her head and she found herself on the ground again. Woozy, she reached out to try and haul the jester down with her. She was NOT going down to some healer! HP: 7 (Ill-aimed huh XD )

Tannen was quite surprised that his blows had such an effect; perhaps he had just struck at the right time. Once again he felt the other grabbing him and pulling him down, but this time he was unable to keep from falling. Wriggling to try and avoid a position that invited stabbing, he instead tried to head-butt the other while he was this close.
HP: 6 ((.....Lucky shots? XD Maybe he should have been a warrior instead.))

Medeia was surprised, too. But as she hauled him down she managed to avoid the attempted headbutt just barely, jerking her head back. She attempted to drive her dagger into his head at the same time with a growl. HP: 6

Ah well, Tannen had to muse, he didn't have much of a head for butting anyway. At leas the was able to turn his head in time to avoid the dagger, though it tore a sad rip in his lovely cap. Still looking to make something of this close proximity, he suddenly reached out with both hands and tried to box the other's ears as hard as he could.

Medeia was amazed she missed at such a close range, and was even more surprised to get her ears boxed, hard. Pain ripped through her head, followed by a ringing, as she was quite sure an eardrum ruptured. One hand went to cover one of her ears, while the other holding the dagger attempted to stab him anywhere she could. HP: 2

Tannen gave off a rather clownish grin as he saw how successful his boxing had been, but faded quickly as the evil dagger came in again, tearing into his side and causing his strength to seep away. Feeling as though this could be the deciding blow, he gathered up his remaining strength and sought to punch the other beneath the chin in an attempt to drop them in a stun.

Medeia's head was swimming, her eyes blurring, but somehow she managed to avoid more than a brushing of that fist. She too knew the end was coming for both of them and she lashed out one more time with her dagger, trying to return the favor by aiming it at his chin. HP: 1
