To be perfectly honest, Abbi absolutely, one-thousand-and-ten percent, unequivocally loved presents.
It really didn't matter whether she was on the receiving end or the giving side, she simply adored them. They just made everything better! It probably helped that she'd come to understand, thanks to all the video gaming she did, that people like you a lot better when they're given their favorite things, even if sometimes its something dumb like grass. And while she didn't have a cave to go digging around for jewels and pretty things to gift people, she at least still held with the idea that giving people stuff was the coolest.
And sometimes, like today, she was lucky enough that she got one!

Which meant that today was a very lucky day, and that meant Abbi ought to bring the very nice stuff to Chel's room. Though, the very nice stuff really was just some white wine Abbi had procured that was a little more expensive than normal and of which she hadn't opened yet. She also grabbed another bottle, some whiskey she wouldn't ever finish because she sincerely didn't enjoy the stuff, and whisked both down the hall and up the stairs toward the upgraded rooms.
She was very interested to know how the trip to Greece went, and definitely planned to ask a lot of questions, but first there was drinking and gifts!

A freckled hand rapped against Chel's door, though Abbi didn't let the knocking do its job solo.
"The Booze Fairy is here!" That made her laugh and she tilted her head back to shout some more because it was fun.
"I come bearing alcohol, I am here to bring mischief and bless people with the gift of being tipsy!" Ok this was really silly but whatever Abbi was ridiculous always.

Chel laughed through the door and said, "Then she better get her a** in here, 'cause the door's open and she's got takers!" The sun hunter never minded entertaining Abbi's strange whims, because she found them adorable and strangely amusing. Like a pet or a weird cousin.

The presents from Greece were all scattered around the roof (Chel had no sense of cleanliness or organization and never would. She knew where things were, but it was never in a neat fashion). Abbi's, however, had been set aside on the counter beside where Chel was cooking Thai. She didn't have the hands or attention to let Abbi in, so she assumed the girl could figure out how to work a doorknob.

Luckily for Abbi, Chel had actually thrown on pants this time.

A small "oh!" left the girl, but she wasted no time in letting herself in.
"Oooh, something smells good!" The sight of a kitchen, a real kitchen that isn't the one in the cafeteria, is a comforting thing, even if Abbi would be totally useless in the room. But she hurried over to Chel with all her normal vim and vigor, clunking the bottles down onto a spare counter before rushing up behind her friend to peek around her at what she was cooking.
"What it is, it looks really good!" There were some serious puppy dog eyes thrown in there for good measure because Chel was going to share right??

Already in a good position for it, Abbi wrapped her arms around Chel's waist and gave a good squeeze.
"Hiiiii! You came back! How was Greece? YOUR ROOM LOOKED AMAZING!" That was also an invitation of "I missed you, please tell me all the details".

"I dunno. Just kinda tossin' things in a pan," she responded with a sideways grin. Although it required putting her wooden spoon down (such a sacrifice), Chel hugged Abbi back in full. Chel would never leave a person hanging for a hug. "You eat yet?" she asked, gently kissing the side of Abbi's head because that was also a Chel thing to do.

Detachment came both when Abbi let go and when Chel needed to stir the sizzling noodles. "I did come back." That was all Chel said, nodding at Abbi's energy. Slow down turbo.

A laugh escaped from the teen, squeezed out by Chel during her hug, and the girl didn't wiggle away or push her friend back when she was kissed. The affection that Chel doled out was nice, something Abbi was learning to let herself enjoy.
"Nope!" Was her chirped reply to the question of having already eaten, but it was a lie she grinned through. She had eaten only an hour or so ago, but Abbi was always hungry for more, especially if was a homemade meal.

There is a very pointed eyeroll made in Chel's direction, but Abbi isn't in the least put off about it and instead clears herself a spot on the counter to spring up and sit on.
"Didja round up all the clones?" Probably not the best question to start off with, but it would hopefully at least get the ball rolling.

Chel made a very quick face of worry as Abbi sat on the counter, but not for the reasons Abbi might have been thinking. It was less about Abbi being on the counter and more about what had been on the counter the night before-

"There was only one," she said. The look disappeared from her face so quickly that Abbi might not have caught it. "He was a lil thing. Such a cute little thing- had a million questions for us." She smiled fondly, remembering the little kid. Chel had always loved kids.

She pointed her spoon at Abbi and said, "You get two questions at a time, y'hear me?"

Unaware of what had happened on the counter, but noticing Chel's face, Abbi looked down at her perch. There wasn't anything on the counter, there didn't seem to be any left over cooking or spilled ingredients, and she hadn't moved the things to any place bad so why did Chel give her that look?
But the look disappeared and, given she wasn't very creative, the teen accepted it as a small fluke and went back to looking excited to hear all the fun vacation stories.

"Like a kid? So you got to see Jack as a kid? Wooooow! Bet that was fun." Actually, even though she said it would be fun, Abbi wasn't sure how she felt. Jack wasn't the kind of person she could imagine as any different than he was now, and when she tried to imagine him as a child she only found herself thinking a hefty amount of question marks.
She can focus on the way Chel looks a little dreamy about the topic though, and that makes Abbi turn soft in turn. It wasn't a realistic possibility, but she could easily imagine Chel entertaining a bunch of children with colorfully streaked hair.

Abbi squeaked when the spoon was directed at her and gave a dutiful nod, not willing to argue that she was getting much more than just two questions if they were going back and forth.
"OK UM. How was your trip aaaannnndddd..." Where's my present?! "What happened to the clone?" She was trying to be good...

"Pretty cute but obnoxious as hell," Chel said in regards to baby Jack. "Kinda like the real one."

She snickered at her joke, but Chel couldn't hide affection from her eyes anymore; she'd long since given up on trying. The spoon went back to stirring the pan while she dutifully listened to Abbi's questions. "The trip was good," she said shortly, never one for lengthy descriptions when it came to vague questions, "Clone's locked up in some a** deep quarantine I'm sure. I dunno, I'm not the lifer, remember~"

There may have been a boop to Abbi's nose.

A shrug and nod of Abbi's head is her response.
Because, as much as she adores her tall grumpy friend, he can be hella obnoxious.

If Chel bothered to look after her clipped response she would see Abbi in the throes of an eyeroll because obviously she wanted details, but she drops it quickly.
"So he's here on the Island? If I ask Jack do you think he'll be like... Offended or whatever? You know how touchy he gets about stuff." But at the same time, Abbi was insanely curious about clones and how they operate. Maybe it doesn't fit in with her specialty here on Deus, but that's not going to stop her from asking questions.

Chel's boop is rewarded with a very chirpy, silly sort of noise and a childish grin as she covers her face.
"OK, so do you get two questions now?"
PostPosted: Wed Jun 10, 2015 10:04 pm

"Yeah, now's not really a good time t'ask." She pondered for a second and then said, "Not 'cause anything bad happened. Opposite, really. He's in a good mood and even if he's bein' a shithead, he's havin' fun. Best not tip the scale southwards, y'know?"

Abbi covering her face was too cute- Abbi was too cute. "Who knows- you make those cute faces and he might though. Lord knows I crumble 'neath 'em."

She gave Abbi a sideways grin and deadpanned, "Sure- will you marry me and who's the father."

"Oooooohhhhh." The note is drawn out and thoughtful, the teen turning her face down to look at her knees. She really should have thought that out, she should have known that Jack wouldn't want to be burdened by an unconsented clone of himself somewhere on the Island. He and Chel had done their job and retrieved it, and Abbi knew he was private enough to want to leave it at that.
"I'll... Um, I'll wait." Or maybe she would never ask directly, either way she would use Chel as the marker of when would be a good time to probe and when she should back off.

Thankfully Chel was the master of turning things back to the positive and Abbi laughed, dropping a hand to grin at her friend.
"I would love to marry you, but I think Jack has the monopoly on that one and, lucky for you, nobody!" Abbi did her own deadpan of a winky face with double finger pistols, pausing halfway through to lean forward. "Cause, yanno, the whole no babies from Hunters thing. Which, can I say, is a little short sighted. I mean how else could you indoctrinate kids from such a young age? Not that I would participate, of course... This place is pretty sketchy at the best of times."
That was... Uhhhh...
"OK So what else did you do besides chase clones? And yanno, bang. I don't want those details thanks." She half expected Chel to give them anyways and only looked the slightest bit curious.

Abbi knew Chel too well.

"What? You don't wanna hear about his d**k bein' inside me or us bein' a** naked fer hours?" She wiggled her fingers over Abbi like it was some grand secret. Anything to poke fun at Abbi's innocence. "Suit yerself."

There was a loud ring of laughter and it carried Chel as she threw spices on her noodles. "I'm just messin'. We did destroy that place though. I took pics I'll show y'later." She meant of the destroyed room, thankfully.

In the same way that Abbi knew Chel, Chel also knew a thing or two about Abbi. "Well I mighta got you a present or two. Can't remember."

If there was an ability to properly articulate asdgjdaskhkahl'ahdl;fdjl;ahj, then Abbi totally voiced it when Chel began to speak. Her whole face went red and she began to wave her hands around in a pantomime of "no please that's enough" as she tried to back up on the counter. There was little place she could go and instead turned petulant and blushing, frowning at the floor because, well, she kind of did want to know what that was like... Only minus the Jack part. That was where she drew the line of honestly not wanting to know.

"That's nice!" Was all she could think of to say, at least somewhat glad Chel had fully gotten her use out of the room.
As for presents, well...
"Oh?? Who else did you find presents for?" So she was kind of stalling and continuing her attempt at being good. Mostly she wanted presents kthx.

"Abbi y'can fool just 'bout everyone with yer sweetness, but y'don't fool me," she said with a laugh, turning down the burner until it was off and sticking a lid over the food to keep it hot for the time being.

She moved past the moon hunter and began digging through her various bags from the trip, eventually finding what she wanted. The first was a teapot and teacup set that she'd taken from the hotel room itself. It wasn't wrapped and Chel essentially just handed it to Abbi; did Chel really seem like the kind of person that would wrap a present?

"Jack got us like the fanciest ********' hotel in Greece and they had this cool a** teapot and it looked girly as ******** so I thought you might want it." She gave a shrug that implied it wasn't really a good present, but she hoped Abbi liked it anyways. Then she went back to digging in her bags for the other ones.

One blue eye peeked out between fingers and looked at Chel. Since Abbi wasn't sure what to say (she didn't want to come out and just say that yes she was totally interested because that would be weird), she stayed quiet and merely watched her friend.
When Chel finished the food Abbi decided it was a good time to pop off the counter since it would be time to eat, and she was getting a little hungry with how good things had begun to smell. And then Chel didn't pull out plates or anything but instead started digging through bags. Interested, the teen crept up behind her and found herself presented with a teapot.

At first Abbi didn't say anything. At first she only gingerly took the teapot and stared at it with wide eyes, marveling over how pretty it was. When she did speak it was much quieter than she usually gushed.
"This is so gorgeous thank you so much I love it so much!" And she did, it was honestly one of the nicest things she'd ever received. Half because it was very lovely, some because it was blue, but mostly because she'd wanted a proper tea pot for her room and it would fit perfectly.
So enamored with her new set Abbi totally missed that Chel was getting out more presents.
