Name: Jenna Kat Hansen

Nickname:

Age: 15 16

Birthday: August 10th, 1998 July 31st, 1998

Sign: Leo

Gemstone: Ruby

Blood Type: B-

Fav. Food: Marshmallows, squid, bubble-tea. She's a texture person and really loves anything chewy.

Hated Food: Raw bell peppers, berries with tiny seeds, asparagus, okra. (Okra especially. It's like someone combined bell peppers and asparagus into one!)

School: Jenna is not currently enrolled in school, as she is behind in literally everything. She is studying independently and pursuing a GED.

Hobbies:

Reading- Jenna is a slow but voracious reader, determinedly devouring every YA fantasy and science fiction novel she can get her hands on. She is the sort of person who, when she finds a book that she likes, reads it over and over until she knows the story by heart and has digested every single word. She cannot abandon a half-read book - she simply must know how the story ends, even if she thinks it is terribly boring or poorly written.

Drawing- While lacking any sort of formal training in art, Jenna enjoys putting her thoughts to paper in the form of elaborate sketches of fantasy scenes, exaggerated portraits, and short comics. She has a tendency to get lost in the details, frequently spending far more time on a piece than she initially planned to, with far more elaborate results than she initially intended to create. She likes to keep a sketchbook with her and feels antsy without it.

Collecting- Jenna collects pens, and jewelry, and rubber bands, and paper clips, and seashells, and all kinds of things - even things that aren’t really okay for her to take. Her collections are generally disorganized, stored in shoeboxes and ziplock bags or all over her shelves, but she cares less about knowing exactly what she has and more about having things, period. She takes comfort in being able to surround herself in trinkets that she can call hers and hers alone, and when confronted over objects in her collections that are stolen, is incredibly reluctant to give them up.

Wandering the fields in search of faeries- Jenna is deeply superstitious and puts a great deal of faith in folklore and fairytales. She likes to take long walks and let her mind wander, and she gets lost in the woods nearly as often as she gets lost in her thoughts. She also enjoys making flower crowns and daisy chains and leaving small offerings for various spirits whom she is certain must exist.

Virtues:

Perceptive- Jenna is very good at picking up on tiny sensory details, remembering them, and seeing how they go together. She’s the kind of friend who always notices when you’ve done something different with your hair and will be sure to compliment you on it. She is also very good at associating details with categories, relations, or specific people (even if they are absent) - she may quickly associate a perfume with a specific person, even if the smell is faint or she doesn't know what it's called.

Gentle- Jenna generally seeks to avoid conflict in everything she does. She is wary of other people’s feelings and her potential to hurt them, and tries to be as nice as she can, even when saying things that other people might not want to hear. She shies away from violence and encourages others to do the same, though her resolve, and therefore her success, varies. She is excellent in dealing with domestic animals and small children, though somewhat maladroit around her own peers,

Patient- Jenna believes that it’s better to do something slowly and right than to rush things and mess them up. She is happy to take her time with things, be they projects or reading books or learning something new, and she doesn’t mind when other people take their time, too. Jenna is not one to be frustrated if something takes longer than expected or if a schedule slips, and she doesn’t mind waiting for things to happen as long as she’s been assured that they will happen eventually.

Flaws:

Insecure- Jenna has a lot of issues with self-esteem. She does not properly value her own potential or skills and spends a lot of time seeing herself as a burden to the people who care about her. She does not typically expect good things to happen to her, and is always surprised when they do, expects there must be some mistake, and waits anxiously for them to be taken away. She has a tendency to over-apologize, even for things that are not her fault by any stretch of the imagination.

Disorganized- Jenna has a tendency to put things down wherever is convenient for her and then lose track of them. The closest thing she has to an organization system is a series of stratigraphic layers, and while this sometimes works out alright for her, it usually doesn’t. She is also generally bad at time management - it’s not that she procrastinates, it’s just that she tends to spend too much time on the early steps of a project and not leave enough time for later parts.

Poor listener- Jenna is a terrible auditory learner, in part because she is easily distracted by other details. She might remember what color chalk someone was using when they explained a math problem to her with perfect clarity, but she probably won’t remember the process or the answer. It can take several repetitions for a fact or a rule to finally stick, and when she really needs to get something down, she tries her best to get it in writing, since she retains things a lot better when she reads them.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: Enormous, perpetually surprised looking, vividly orange.

Hair: Long, falling to about mid-back. Baby-fine and strawberry blonde (or in Moonshop speak: pink), uncombed and tangled. Lots of random sticky-uppy bits and choppy layers.

Face: Slim, pointed chin, button nose. Enormous ears. High cheekbones. Big teeth. Think of a young Shelley Duvall.

Body: 5’10 and stick-skinny, with a propensity to gawk.

Clothes: The keyword is ragamuffin and nothing she owns fits properly. Her strategy for accessorizing is “wear all of it.”

Knight Title: Teide Squire of Cosmos

Challenge: “The stars will answer.”

Uniform: - See reference.

Weapon -- A softball-sized crystal ball filled with softly-swirling stars. (Becomes a bowling-ball sized crystal ball in a golden harness at knight stage.)

Magic - Teide offers her crystal ball to a target and compels their attention for as long as she is channeling. Their perception of and reaction to surrounding events is extremely slowed for the duration of her magic, and everything becomes incredibly sparkly and pretty to look at. As a squire, she can channel for forty-five seconds, increased to ninety as a knight.

Summons - Magec, a pink goat of average size, with small golden hooves and horns. Teide is able to call her summons while not in combat and send it nearly instantaneously to any location within range of her ability to sense auras (so about a mile). She is able to compel her summons to follow basic orders and can see what it sees/hear what it hears/smell what it smells/taste what it tastes/feel what it feels, using it to scout ahead and check out locations that she is not physically present. She can use her summons for five minutes every twelve hours unless it is destroyed while active, in which case it takes a two days to regenerate. Having her summons destroyed while she is projecting through it also causes a great deal of pain to Teide.

Hey, Silv! The civilian and powered portion of this is stamped, but I have a few comments about the summon!

First, a summons draws its energy from the same pool of energy as the Knight's magic; it is essentially an 'alternative attack' and wouldn't have an additional pool of energy, sorry! Even at Knight stage the max she could summon it for would be 100 seconds (as, using a summons immediately gives you 10 extra seconds to use!).

Second, it is a neat idea for a summons, however it is also has the ability to be a little too powerful; all summons can follow basic orders, but giving her the ability to sense everything it senses and send it instantaneously to any location within a mile would allow her to send it to places she shouldn’t feasibly be able to access as well as provide her information that could be potentially game breaking. Even with a reduced time frame, these abilities could still allow her access to undetectable spying.

If you would like to submit another idea for summons or if you have an idea for how to tone down these abilities, please let us know! If you would like to keep discussing the summons here we can, or I can drop a stamp now and you can post in the Summons Revision to continue discussing! (Please let me know what works best for you!)

Okay, Kyu! Thank you for the stamp and I can definitely think of ways to tone down these abilities.

I can understand staff's concern -- my intention wasn't for Teide to use this ability to acquire knowledge that other players aren't willing to "show" to it. A big part of my intention in making this a pink goat was that it would be something very visible and fairly sizable -- Teide gets a sneak peek at the danger up ahead, but her enemy has the chance to see her watching them, too. So, for your consideration, I would like to propose an altered power set, reduced in both abilities and scope:

Summons - Magec, a pink goat of average size, with small golden hooves and horns. Teide is able to call her summons while not in combat and send it nearly instantaneously to a location within about two city blocks' radius of where she is, though Magec must still actually travel to the location via a physical route. While her summons is active, Teide can see through its eyes and hear through its ears, using it to scout ahead and check out locations that she is not physically present. Having her summons destroyed while she is projecting through it also causes a great deal of pain to Teide.

So, like, the teal deer version of that:

1) It's a pink goat, rather than undetectable spying.

2) Magec requires a physical route to its destination, rather than being able to go anywhere. Locked doors are right out. High places without stairs are right out.

3) It's meant for looking around corners and seeing if the person up ahead is friend or foe, not gathering intel she's not supposed to have, except for in the very rare circumstance when someone allows it to be used that way for a plot.

Those tweaks sound awesome to me! I am dropping a stamp for everything now, thanks so much!
