Sterope was getting more and more used to life as a senshi. She had not gone back to Mirrorspace since her first illustrious visit, thank goodness, but there was something about this family that she was supposed to have been adopted into that appealed to her. It wasn’t like her own family was all that attentive to her these days, anyway.
The way Remarque had explained it all sounded pretty reasonable for her, anyway, and like he said the mirror chose her. Obviously this was a thing that was meant to be if she was chosen, right?
Besides, she had no reason to trust anyone in this supposed war but the people on her side, the ones like her. It was suggested that she patrol and get a feel for things, familiarizing herself with both sides and their Negaverse “cousins.”
She didn’t believe that they were really related but the Negaverse certainly didn’t feel as strange to her as some of the others.
It was hard to reason right now but she was sure there was time to figure it out while she sat on the roof of a closed bakery and watched the people walking occasionally down the street.

Pharos was trying, to be more active at night in this war, that she wasn’t so sure she wanted to be a part of. She liked being a knight and getting to save people and having magic, but she didn’t like people trying to kill her. She currently sat on the top of a building, feet dangling and looking down at those roaming about, mostly the random person every 10 or so minutes walking a dog. That would last too much longer. She wasn’t really doing anything at the moment aside from sitting. She was easily distracted to say the least.
She felt someone else in the area after a minute and looked around, standing and trying to see if she could spot them. The aura didn’t feel like a negaverse, but it wasn’t soft and good like a knight or senshi, so unfortunately she knew that might mean trouble. She summoned her staff and leaned against it looking but still not spotting the other. She checked the rooftops and the ground, but maybe the other wasn't close enough yet to be spotted.

Sterope moved after a minute, feeling something that she equated to a sickly feeling come onto her radar. She moved toward it on instinct, just out of curiosity more than anything. She wasn’t entirely familiar with the ins and outs of being a member of the Dark Moon Court but she was learning and used every opportunity to try to learn more. She felt a drive to forge ahead and move up, to get the same power that she felt coming off of Remarque.
“Who the ******** are you?” she asked, more in fascination than in malice.
It wasn’t hard to find the foot holds to come down to where the knight was and she bounced down easily, touching down lightly on the ground.
“Better yet, what the ******** are you?”
It seemed her foul mouth traveled with her in and out of costume…

Pharos turned and frowned at the language used to ask who she was and shook her head. “That’s not how …” she started before the other asked another really rude question. “You have quite the potty mouth,” she said softly. “You don’t have to ask like that … I’m Pharos, Squire of Chronos. A knight. What’s your name then?”
She continued to lean against her staff, seemingly unworried at the moment even though the other was cursing at her, which is something she didn’t really care for. No one she knew cursed at all, those sorts of words didn’t come out of the mouth of ladies and gentlemen. Maybe she was exactly a shining example of a lady, but she was a knight and knights didn’t speak like that either.
“You’re new to all this, yes? No one told you about knight?”

“Nothing wrong with my mouth.”
The way Sterope saw it there was nothing wrong with the way she spoke. It was how she’d always spoke and no amount of threats, entreaties, or groundings had broken her from it. Her mother was mostly on a never ending quest to try and make her over into more of a lady but the way she was, she felt she was lady enough. It wasn’t like she was doing it wrong or anything. It was her life.
“A knight?”
She did not look like any knight Sterope had ever seen before. She arched a skeptical eyebrow but took the girl at her word. Worse things had happened.
“I’m Sailor Sterope, part of the Dark Mirror Court.”
Though she wasn’t entirely sure she was allowed to say more than that to outsiders.
“I’m new.”
And was slightly put out that it showed so much…

Pharos shook her head, but didn’t say anything, instead she nodded at the girl when she parroted that she was a knight asking. “Yes, its not quite like modern history. I mean there are knights like that, earth knights. Like Camelot, but I’m a knight of Chronos. We are a little more brightly colored.”
Pharos stood up straight and gave a smile, happy to talk. It was nice when someone didn’t just attack her. “It’s nice to meet you Sterope.”
She held out a hand to the other to shake, “welcome to all this. It’s a bit confusing so be careful, there are quite a lot of way to get into a heap of trouble at night. Though you probably have less ways than me. You probably aren’t getting attacked by youma.”

Youma? Were those like mirror wraiths?
“I don’t know any Camelot. Sounds kind of lame.”
I mean it was one thing to run around with magical powers because at least that way she knew she was a super hero. She had no idea how she came by her name but knew about Camelot all too well. The legends spawned countless rewrites up to and including a recent show on the BBC that some of her friends liked.
She guessed some people were just more strange about it than others.
Like she had no idea what a Pharos was…or a Sterope.
“Speaking of all this, aren’t you on the wrong side?”
That part she knew, at least.

Pharos made an indignant face at the other, who said Camelot sounded kind of lame. “He is absolutely not lame. He’s only the bravest, nicest knight around. You shouldn’t judge people you do not even know. It’s quite rude you know.”
She didn’t like what the girl said, it prickled her nerves a bit, but she tried to push that aside because maybe she was overreacting a bit, but Camelot was really the best. Everyone thought so, right?
She blinked at the next question and shook her head frown, “no off course not. Pharos is my birthright, or so says my ancestor. I’m exactly where I belong. A knight of Chronos just like my uncle was. You’re the one that is on the wrong side.”
Really she wasn’t too overly certain of that though, she knew they negaverse did terrible things and their youma weren’t exactly helpful, but the DMC were murky territory. She’d met Remarque and he didn’t seem bad at all either.

“Oh, eat me.”
Sterope rolled her eyes. Where did this girl come from, a convent? First with the language thing and now calling her rude. Hello? At least she didn’t have to name herself after some mythical defunct utopia. So, really, how did this Pharos person have the gall to call her rude?
Some people…
“Your ancestor..?”
She couldn’t even hide the sarcasm in her tone. This conversation was obviously not off to a good start. She didn’t know much about her new place but she did know she wasn’t talking to dead people so right there she had to think she was doing well. Of course she had to be on the right side, and that was assured now. At least Sterope wasn’t crazy enough to think she was talking to old people that lived many many years ago.
Really, if she ever got there she needed to quit.
“Um, maybe you need some help with that whole...crazy...thing.”

“I don’t want to eat you, at all,” Pharos said with a look on her face that said she would rather do anything else than that. She wasn’t a cannibal after all and she was a starseed eating negaverser. Sterope she felt was something else and Pharos wasn’t sure how to take her.
Pharos nodded not catching the sarcasm that came along with the question, “yeah he is sort of stuck, or rather maybe tethered is the right word, to my wonder. He was the knight before me that protected it and now he tries to help me, since he or I guess it would be his soul. He certainly doesnt have a body, but I digress. He helps me since he can’t leave.”
Pharos gave something of a grin after explaining but the expression didn’t last very long as her face and voice when very deadpan, “I am not crazy. It’s a hundred percent the truth and I can even prove it.” Or she assumed she could anyway.

“Oh Lord”
Sterope rolled her eyes again. That wasn’t what she meant. Was Pharos missing the point on purpose or not? Maybe she wasn’t crazy. Maybe she was just a little...special. She wasn’t sure if she belonged in this conversation suddenly and backed up a step.
“Oh yeah,” she challenged. “Prove it.”
She put her hands on her hips and waited for the knight to produce whatever proof she had that she talked to dead people somewhere along her family line.
Sterope certainly didn’t want to start talking to dead people.

Pharos nodded, “okay that’s simple enough. I can just take you to him. You just have to hold onto me while I take us there and then we have to find him. He usually comes to greet me when I go to Pharos though.”
Pharos held out her hand giving the senshi a pointed look to take it. If the other didn’t hold on they couldn’t go anywhere. She closed her eyes and took a breath before she spoke her oath, “I pledge my life and loyalty to Chronos, and to Pharos. I humbly request your aid, so that in return I may give you mine.”
With that the pair would disappear, from where they were, but Pharos would arrive on her wonder alone, hand empty, face a sheer picture of confusion.

Holding onto a crazy person did not sound like the smartest idea but Sterope was of the idea that, at this point, if they could not be beat they should be joined. She shrugged and reached out to wrap Pharos in a hug. It felt a little strange, but she was not really the hugging type, so...that made sense.
Then, darkness.
She felt a tug behind her belly and when she opened her eyes she was standing where she’d been. She hadn’t gone anywhere. Served her right for believing a crazy person. Ah, well, it was good for a laugh and laugh she did at her own stupidity and the lack of evidence that Pharos managed to produce. The knight was gone. She, most decidedly, was still there. <******** loony tunes.” she muttered, looking around. The girl poofed into thin air.

Pharos stood in her wonder courtyard looking extremely confused, eyes wide. Her ancestor approached her and asked if she was okay, but she sort of just looked at him. “I was bringing with me disappeared. I come again soon, I promise. I have to go find her.”
Moments later Pharos was reappearing where she disappeared from, spinning frantically when she didn’t immediately spot the other girl, but relaxing when she noticed her and that she was whole in unharms. “I’m really sorry. I don’t really know what happened. I don’t think that should have happened. I will have to ask one of my teammates about it. For now I guess I can’t really prove it, but maybe after I figure out what just happened.”
She frowned slightly, “anyhow, I should probably go find one of them now.”
