Name: Tanarah
Stage: Infant
Gender: ♀ Female
Class: Warrior
Clan: Firani
Appearance: Round, button-nose, semi-broad but not overly so. Thick, squared off eyebrows. Oval eyes, deep red from adept stage on. Prominent, sharp brow line. Fairly high cheekbones that sweep down to give a fairly rounded 'heart' shaped face, but with a flatter, more notable chin than usually attributed to such a look.
In addition to these base facial features, Tanarah has very dark, almost black-brown skin dotted with scales small enough they're nearly indistinguishable from freckles but for their coarse texture. As she grows, she builds her strength, eventually giving her a notably more solid frame than is generally expected of a woman: broader, muscled shoulders, evident biceps, and a full, visible set of abdominals. Her age also adds scars - and tattoos, in various locations to be determined as she grows.
Tanarah's horns, like her sisters, form an inch or so above her eyebrows, sweep out and down at first, and then hook and change direction to point up and back.

Detailed
Tanarah is a social and excitable creature - and a hedonist to her core. She lives life to love it and loves to live it, and isn't especially concerned with much else beyond that other than immediate concerns, as they arise. Although this makes her upbeat and generally easy to get along with, it also results in her occasionally coming off as too flippant about things that ought to be taken seriously. She would much rather breeze over, or laugh off something than dig into depressing detail, which can be frustrating to others, or even seem callous in the moment. This 'keep happy' attitude sometimes results in her 'running away' from her problems (because problems are such a downer, wouldn't it just be easier to...pretend they don't exist?) and makes it difficult for her to commit to much of anything (or anyone) other than her small circle of family.
Likes:
attention, crowds, heat, noise, activity, complexity
challenges, high places, windy days, music, feeling accomplished
winning almost anything, running, fighting, fresh bread, sour candies, off-color jokes
bright colors, surprises
Dislikes:
cold, being alone for too long, extended quiet/emptiness
having to sit still/be idle, waiting, obligations
responsibility, having things expected of her, being ignored
too-sweet sweets, anything with a mushy or gelatinous texture, being sick/weak/incapable, failure
Strengths: Tanarah is incredibly positive, boisterous, and fun-loving. Her courage and sense of adventure, as well as natural go-get-'em and headstrong attitude, all tend to lend themselves to her barreling forward with her head held high, ready to take the hits as they come and get up again, hitting the ground running as soon as she's back on her feet. This tends to make her adaptable and resilient, helping her to power through - or, if necessary, simply scope around and keep trying until she achieves her end goals without getting down on herself very easily.
She is generally positive, friendly, and forgives easily because holding onto grudges is just exhausting
and upsetting - why bother?
Weaknesses: For all her confidence, once a person digs past her outer layer, Tanarah is innately averse to commitment. She has trouble settling down, and fears being tied to anything - a place, a person, a thought, an ideal - too long, since she sees that as not only limiting, but opening herself up to vulnerability in disappointment.
In addition - in part due to the pace at which she runs her life - Tanarah can tend to fall victim to 'tunnel vision', and sometimes has trouble appreciating the smaller, subtler, slower details of life.
Fears: Though she may never admit it, Tanarah is absolutely petrified of being alone. Not 'alone' in the sense of some private space to herself - she can handle, and even enjoy, that for a time - but in the fuller, more complete sense of having an instance where, worst come to worst, she does not have anyone to turn to. Despite being fiercely independent and ready to remind anyone of that fact in the blink of an eye, Tana grew up in a tightly knit, supportive family with a full wealth of close, trusting relationships: her two fathers, her sister, her grandfather and grandmother, and - slightly more distantly - her god-uncle and aunt, and two cousins by them, Ataya and Akara. In addition to having them always there without falter, Tanarah has always been a social person who draws her energy from interaction and those around her. Though she has difficulty fully committing herself to those outside her family, she still wants very much to have those relationships available should she need them.
Second only to complete loneliness, Tanarah also fears incapacity. All her life she has been active, aggressive, on top of things, and self-reliant to whatever extent she can manage. While she does not mind help - and is even perfectly willing to seek it out when it fits her ends - she cannot stand the help of being completely incapable of caring for herself. She is fairly certain that when she is
so old that her body can no longer meet the basic necessary requirements of keeping her independent, it is probably time to go find a nice quiet spot and die.
Life Goals: Victory, in all things. Happiness. Contentment. In her youth, Tanarah lives very much day by day, moment by moment, with few 'long term' goals. As she ages, however, she will eventually settle more, and does want to be in a place at some point where she is comfortable and can look back on her life and not be bored.
Sayings: "I can do that." - Not one to be beat, at anything, Tanarah often views the accomplishments of others not as bad things, but benchmarks in their own right. If she witnesses something that impresses her, it might as well be a gauntlet laid at her feet, waiting for her to take up the challenge and match it. She also has a general can-do attitude when it comes to tasks put before her personally in the regular course of business, and if it sounds
fun, she may do something for someone just to prove that she can.
"Okay, but what's your point?" - As a lover of life and time, Tanarah is not fond of wasting it, and time is only wasted when it's spent doing something
boring or upsetting. If someone belabors a topic unnecessarily, she wants to get down to the nitty gritty and not dance around.
"I don't really see what that has to do with
me, though." - Nothing is Tanarah's problem unless it is
really Tanarah's problem, which usually means it has come so squarely in front of her face that she can't possibly avoid it any longer. Until then, she may just really,
really need to be somewhere else right now, sorry.
Quirks: Tattoos, tattoos, tattoos. Tattoos are a form of self expression for everyone who gets one, but to Tanarah, it is more than that. Her body is a blank slate as a child, and as she grows, she wants to fill it with ink so that, in time, her skin will be the story of her life: her accomplishments, her failures, her loves and losses, her great adventures and her lessons learned. Each major event and major person in her life should be represented somewhere, in some form, in ink on her body. If she has room.
Citrus candy. Tanarah will eat almost anything, and is has the appetite of a starving rhamidon, but despite not being picky in general, she still has a few things that rank
especially high on her list of favorites. Almost any variety of citrus-y or sour candy falls in that category. Lemon, lime, orange, tangerine - a little mix of that salty/sour/sweet, and Tana is sold.
Yellow is her favorite color.
Thoughts on the Other Races: As a hybrid (and having been raised by a more obviously hybrid father) Tanarah has seen her fair share of the worst that racial prejudice can bring out in people. Even so, however, Tana doesn't figure that such uninformed and clearly crossways opinions are worth wasting her time fretting about. She enjoys keeping the company of whoever makes their company enjoyable to keep, and isn't generally all that prejudicial.
That said, Tanarah is, herself, a near-even mix of dovaa and oblivionite bloodlines, her fathers are dovaa and dovaa-hybrid, and their closest family friends are dovaa and oblivionite. This can't be said to have
no effect on her, and at a basic level, she does feel a closer kinship with these races. They are, if nothing else, familiar to her from a very young age on, and as a child, she even passes fairly easily as a pureblood dovaa, making them easier to make friends with.
Orderites, conversely, are much more alien to her: wild colors, whizzing gadgets, a strange, smoggy city an ocean away - and warmongering! But their strangeness does make them
interesting, and Tana will not hold it against a person if they have feathers. When she grows, she will sate her curiosity about the race by travelling to Serenia more than once.
Thoughts on the Great Engagement: Having grown up in a time of increasing racial tension and, eventually, the return of war itself, Tanarah is no stranger to its casualties and pains. She has watched her father burn many a candle late into the night as he tends to soldiers who later die. She has heard the groans and screams of the injured, seen them bleed out on the floor of her home. She has heard the words of hate that are exchanged between those blinded by their pride and drive for revenge.
She is not a fan. There are plenty of good reasons to fight, but race and religion are not - in her opinion - among them. She empathizes more with those who fight for 'revenge', but still thinks that, on the whole, the war is a wasteful, needless burden on all the people of Magesc, and if a true peace could eventually be found, that would be best for all. That said, she is not optimistic on that front, and thinks that fighting was born into them all as a people, an inherent and inescapable part of the Magescian design. Due to this, she is not wholly impartial, and if given a personal reason to fight that she deems 'good enough', she could be persuaded to join in the combat, but she considers that unlikely.
The war, after all, is really not
her problem, is it?
Thoughts on Dragons and Khehora: As part-dovaa, dragons are in her blood as far as Tanarah is concerned, and their magic burns through her every time she works with her element. Fighting against them is a sport and test of endurance, and she hopes one day to look as impressive in the skies as they do.
Khehora, on the other hand, are a strange sort, due in particular to their creation story. Although the idea of a bonded is appealing on some levels, Tana finds it difficult to justify binding a thinking mind to her so tightly. Khehora, while more feral than Magescians, are still an intelligent race, and can even be
lovers to Magescians, as demonstrated by a family she knows personally. For this reason and others, she respects them as a people and likely will never take a bonded.
