Dexter Olsen "Hey, pay attention!"The teacher sat on one of the benches that the wooden gazebo provided, taking off the wet jacket and setting it on a small hook. He ran his hands through his wet hair, shaking his head a little and letting his hair dry, looking a little spiky in it's dampness. He looked around, then gestured to a small speck that was close to the school, but on the other side. " I think that's the greenhouse," he said as the rain started to come down harder, looking back to the blonde. " You know, there's so much of those school that I haven't seen. I think they have four gardens, including one on the roof." "I get paid to teach your stupid butt, not amuse you!"

Vinny Leavitt Vinny set down his guitar case beside him when they finally reached the gazebo. His forearms and legs were wet from stray drops of rain, but he seemed relatively dry, maybe even dryer than Dexter. He ran his hand through his slightly damp hair and looked at the teacher, following his gaze towards the school. "It's pretty big." he agreed. "I never had the time to explore it. Maybe we can take a tour next time?" he suggested while looking back at the older man.

Dexter Olsen "Hey, pay attention!"" Maybe," he shrugged, wringing out the bottom of his shirt that had gotten wet. His skin was visible as he twisted the shirt, slim, but nicely-lined body suiting him strangely well. He let go of his shirt, letting it fall and digging through his pockets. He pulled his phone out, just barely missing Alan's call. Huh, weird. He put the phone back away, then sat on the wooden bench and turned enough so that he could see the rain fall. " You know, it's actually kind of pretty here when it rains. Back home in New Orleans, rain's almost always an ugly affair." "I get paid to teach your stupid butt, not amuse you!"

Vinny Leavitt "It's nice in the fields of Japan, but it's pretty gross in the cities." Vinny remarked. He couldn't help but observe Dexter's exposed sections. The guitarist never gave much thought to what the teacher's body looked like, but it was much leaner than he ever imagined. It even looked smooth... The rain was deafening right now. Surely there had to be something else to hear besides this. Looking back at his guitar case, the musician crouched down and unlocked it. The guitar inside shined magnificently in its dry radiance. It looked like it had been used for a long time, and cared for just as long. Vinny pulled out the instrument and held it against him, positioning his hands before the many strings. He plucked a few strings then would turn the nobs at the end, changing its pitch. As he did so he stood up and sat at the bench across Dexter from the gazebo. After he was done tuning, he started playing a simple tune that was distracting enough from the rain.

Dexter Olsen "Hey, pay attention!"As Vinny took his guitar out, Dexter patted himself down for his pack of cigarettes, making an annoyed noise as he realized that the pack was soaked through. He tossed them into a wastebasket by the bench, deciding that he would be fine without them. It was a baldfaced lie, but he tried hard to believe it. Hearing the guitarist start playing, Dexter looked over to him, a thought instantly running through his mind. " God, he's so cool." He blinked, then shook his head free of his weird thoughts and stood, walking across the gazebo to sit by Vinny, his legs crossed as he looked over the guitar and tried not to look over the guitarist. " You're too modest," he said after a few moments. " You're very talented. At least, much more talented than a lot of the kids running around here, pretending to play guitar." "I get paid to teach your stupid butt, not amuse you!"

Vinny Leavitt Even when Dexter moved to sit beside him Vinny kept playing. A circus could march by him and he'd still play, otherwise he wouldn't be able to work alongside people like Ken or Yasu. It was when he was spoken to that the guitarist stopped playing, replacing his music with laughter. "I'd hope so since I get paid to do this." he said then smiled at the teacher. There was silence for a moment, as if he was thinking about something, then he held his guitar out for Dexter to take. "You told me you play guitar too, right? I already played something, so now it's your turn."

Dexter Olsen "Hey, pay attention!"Dexter held up his hands as he was offered the guitar, cheeks tinting a little pink in embarrassment. " What, me? It's been years, I won't sound any good." He tried to protest, although in the end, Dexter ended up taking the guitar and holding it on his lap. He drew a foot up, resting his leg on it in an attempt to make himself more comfortable, then strummed a chord. He stopped, then thought for a moment. " I'm no good at classical guitar, but when I was in college, a buddy of mine taught me this song that came out before we were born. Let's see." He struggled for a moment, then found the right chord set and starting playing, smiling to himself before singing the first verse. Dexter's singing voice was a little gruff from years of hard smoking, but altogether rather pleasant, almost as if he was one of those classic rock singers from the seventies. At that moment, in the pouring rain while singing an old song he'd been playing every now and then since college, Dexter almost looked handsome and cool again. " I pulled into Nazareth, was feeling about half past dead I just need some place where I can lay my head "Hey, mister, can you tell me where a man might find a bed?" He just grinned and shook my hand, and "No!", was all he said Take a load off Fanny, take a load for free Take a load off Fanny, and (and) (And) you can put the load right on me." He strummed a few more notes, then stopped and blushed, bowing his head and chuckling in slight humiliation. " That's all I can really remember right now. Sorry, here you go." He handed Vinny the guitar back, offering a nervous-looking smile. " I better leave the playing to the actual professional." "I get paid to teach your stupid butt, not amuse you!"

Vinny Leavitt Seeing the teacher begin playing, Vinny couldn't help but admire the teacher. He looked very tranquil, a polar opposite than earlier today in class. Seeing the dull rain in the background bring out Dexter's figure, the guitarist almost blushed. "He sure looks cool." he kept thinking. When Dexter stopped singing to talk to him, Vinny almost blushed again from how much he realized he was staring. "And you called me too modest." he laughed. "You sounded amazing! If just one other student had heard you I'm sure you'd be swarmed by all the girls at the school." he praised while taking his guitar back.

Dexter Olsen "Hey, pay attention!"" Don't be silly, you're just flattering me!" Dexter wave d a hand, leaning back and tilting his head back. " Girls didn't even swarm me when I was at my best. I mean, even at frat parties, I ended up stuck in one of the back room, playing poker with a few friends." He set a hand on his head, staring up at the roof of the gazebo. " Besides, I'm too old to be a heartthrob, don't you think?" He brought his head back down, grinning at Vinny and winking at him teasingly. "I get paid to teach your stupid butt, not amuse you!"

Vinny Leavitt Vinny laughed at the wink, though he was more keeping himself from blushing so blatantly. Why he felt like blushing when winked at, he'd never know. "I wouldn't be so sure about that. You look pretty good for your age." he admitted as he set the guitar down, propping its neck against the bench so that he could put his hands in his pockets. "Believe it or not, there are a couple girls I hear now and then talk about you. I don't think they've had your class yet, though. Besides, you can't be that old, right? What are you, twenty-eight?"

Dexter Olsen "Hey, pay attention!"He shook his head, laughing at the teen. " Oh, now you're just being nice," he insisted, turning on his seat so that he faced the guitarist, rolling his sleeves up and propping his elbow up on the back of the bench, leaning his head on his fist. " I'm thirty-seven, but thanks for making an old man feel a little better about his wrinkles." His other hand rested on his lap, the other tilted at such an angle that two of his tattoos were visible. " Besides, with other "hotties" at this school like all those pop stars and all those much younger teachers, i'm just a face in the crowd. I don't mind, I rather like being a visual wallflower. Keeps me out of trouble, usually." "I get paid to teach your stupid butt, not amuse you!"

Vinny Leavitt "After hearing about the reputations some of the teachers have, I don't blame you." Vinny shrugged. He glanced down when the teacher started shifting in his seat and noticed the markings. "You have tattoos?" he mused and gestured towards what was visible.

Dexter Olsen "Hey, pay attention!"" Huh?" Dexter followed the blonde's gaze to his arm, then nodded, laughing a little at himself. " Yeah, I've got three." He held out his left arm, showing the well-detailed compass. " This one I got when my mother died when I was twenty-four." He then held up his right arm, showing the crudely drawn heart on his inner wrist. " I got this one on my daughter's sixth birthday. She drew it on me with a pen and I got it permanently etched on that night." He paused, wondering if he really should show Vinny the last one. Well, it wouldn't really harm anyone, would it? Besides, they're both guys! Dexter leaned back unbuttoning his shirt and opening it enough so that the tattoo of his right side could be seen, as well as a good portion of his nicely-toned body. " And I think I got this one just before my divorce." He left his shirt open for a few more seconds so that Vinny could see, then moved to rebutton it. " Do you have any?" he asked. "I get paid to teach your stupid butt, not amuse you!"

Vinny Leavitt Vinny carefully examined each tattoo. The compass was designed well, the heart made him smile sadly, but the third tattoo... The guitarist blushed when he saw Dexter start undoing his shirt. What was he doing? Even if it was hard to see through the rain, wh-what if someone saw? Instead, however, all the teacher did was show him another tattoo. Taking a moment to relieve and mentally chastise himself for being so silly, Vinny leaned over to see the tattoo. He couldn't concentrate on it, though. Dexter had a good body, it was lean with the faint imprint of muscles. The guitarist wasn't sure why Dexter insisted that he wasn't handsome, even he felt himself swooning. When asked about tattoos of his own, Vinny went back to his side of the seat and shook his head. "No. It's embarrassing, but I'm scared of needles. Especially ones that poke at you thousands of times in an hour." Just talking about it made him shiver. Or was it the coldness from the rain that hit them earlier?
