Christian was an accident waiting to happen. However impossible it may seem, Christian is the offspring of both a giant, and a human. This means that although he has the strength of a giant, and sometimes the temperament of one, he will never be a giant. He is stuck in the body of a human, which is weak compared to the body of the giants he lived with.
Christian's mother had died during his birth and so, despite being an outcast of sorts, Christian grew up with his father in a land filled with giants. He was brought up a giant, however he was all to aware of his weaknesses. Due to his small body (in comparison to the giants) he was constantly ridiculed and picked on. However, he just viewed this as training. He vowed that he would one day follow in his mother's footsteps and become a Knight. Someone dedicated to protecting the innocent. Protecting those who could not protect themselves. And after his father's untimely death, Christian got the chance. With a new found motivation, Christian joined the Knights.
Although he is still, often ridiculed by the Orcs and Giants he works with because of how small he is. Whereas the humans are intimidated by him because he is so large compared to them. However, because of he constant ridiculing he receives, Christian has a bit of a complex. The only way to really get him to lose his cool (apart from hurting innocents) is to ridicule his height. But this just serves as further motivation to take down his enemies.

Extra: The tattoo across his shoulder blades, is a tattoo that each Giant get as a right of passage. However, his was more difficult to do than most because he'd had to do his tattoo himself. The Giant's were too large to do it for him.
