Sy sat on the couch, her mother having just left her alone after fussing over her injury. It wasn't fun. She loved her mother dearly but the attention was a bit much for her shy nature. For now, however, she had a small headache. The bruise on her temple was a charming blue and purple color and the cut was red and angry. Thankfully it wasn't bleeding any longer. Reaching up with her right hand she'd gently touch the outer edge of the tender spot and wince, still she tested just how large the bruise was. So epic was her fail that she'd been knocked unconscious during a burglary. Her eyes watered again as she thought about the loss of her mother's necklace. It was her fault. If only she knew how to fight, or wasn't afraid to fight.

Returning home, Cyn opened the door to his families abode. He stopped in the doorway to remove the hood he kept over his head. The green jacket he wore fit tightly on his body, various pockets and loops allowed for Cyn to carry tools with him. Though he only really stocked up when leaving for training or something more dangerous. "I'm home." He declared, not wanting to startle anyone who might be home at the moment. Unconsciously Cyn moved silently so he often gave his mother heart attacks when she hadn't realized he had returned. "Anyone about?" He'd call out again as he shut the door behind him. His next step was to remove the bow and quiver that rested on his shoulder. Their mother wasn't a fan of the weapon being worn while inside so he'd give her the peace of removing it. Now that he had announced his presence, and taken off his weapon Cyn walked more into the home. He'd check a few places to see if anyone was home, and if everything was in order.

Her ears caught the sound of her brother entering before he actually announced he was home. At first she wanted to sink down into the overstuffed couch and disappear. It was just what she needed, her twin to tell her how horrible she was at defending the house. With a sigh she moved to sit up a bit more so that her small frame could be seen. "I'm in the main room." It was within view of the door, but she still told him where to find her. Shifting a bit, Syqvara would move her hair so that it blocked the view of her recent injury.

Hearing a reply made things easier, Cyn wouldn't have to check the house if someone was home. If no one had been home, training would take over and Cyn would sweep the house looking for signs of distress. When the man with the bow decided to train him, wielding a weapon wasn't the only thing the instructor taught him. Now heading for the main room, Cyn put his hand on the door frame before showing his face. "You the only one home Syq?" He'd ask just to make sure. "Figured you'd be out and about stumblin on yer words." He spoke with a cheerful tone, meant to show his jest. He wasn't insulting Syqvara, rather playing with her knowing how shy she was. Fully entering the room, Cyn walked forward toward Syq who sat on the couch. "Done anythin interestin today?" He'd continue with the questions, giving her things to talk about with him. Though it was apparent that one of the things his instructor taught him was an accent. He'd often leave the 'g' off of words, or use some very interesting uses of 'ya' 'yer' and the like.

Seeing him appear in the doorway after his hand was there she nodded her head at his first question. Their mother had gone out to get something for her head. When he gave her more questions to answer she simply offered him a shake of her head as she smiled at him. "Well, if you count getting knocked unconscious as interesting, then sure." Sy didn't mind telling him about what happened, but she'd keep the sight of the injury hidden for now. Something that could be seen as odd since she usually liked to tuck her hair behind her ear. "Training go okay?" She knew that was what he was doing. Or that was his usual. Not that it bothered her in the least. Seeing her brother doing something he enjoyed made her happy for him.

The smile that had been on Cyn's face diminished upon hearing his sister's words. In one fluid motion Cyn took the last few steps towards Syqvara, taking a seat next to her. In the next moment his eyes were examining her features looking for injuries. Along with his visual examination, Cyn's hands raised up and went to cup his sister's head between the extremities. "Are you okay?" If she didn't offer resistance, Cyn would move Syq's head around a little, watching her reactions to the action. "Tell me what happened now." Syqvara's other question would go unanswered for now, as it had only been wind in the air after hearing that she had been hurt. Distracted, Cyn would fail to notice the difference in her hair, instead solely focused on making sure Syq was okay first. If anything he figured it was due to being knocked out that her hair was different.

As he made the cross to the couch quicker than she estimated she had to lean back a bit to keep her eyes on him. When he gripped her head she would do her best to keep his hand from touching her temple. The moving around of her head would be greeted with a raise of one brow questioningly. "It happened earlier. It was raining and both you and mother were out. I was cleaning the porch as I promised I would and.. I didn't notice them until they were practically at the door." Cyn would understand that, wouldn't he? After all the rains lately had been so heavy that visibility was next to nothing. "I didn't make it back inside in time." She shrugged her shoulders a bit. It was fact. Had she known that the person that was getting closer had been a bandit she might not have waited so long to take refuge. "I did try to hit the robber with the broom, only.. he hit me with it instead." Twice, if she could recall correctly.

"Does your body feel alright?" He'd repeat the question after listening to her story, letting go of her head in the process. Cyn's arms would fall to his lap though his eyes didn't leave Syqvara's face. Deep within the emerald orbs a storm swirled. "You didn't get a look at em did ya? Probably too busy trying to protect ya self I bet." One of the arms that lay in rest raised up, gently placing itself on the top of Syq's head. Giving her a quick pat or two Cyn put a smile on his face. "You tried your best to protect the house didn't you? I'm proud of you Syqvara." He wasn't trying to patronize her, rather Cyn really was proud of her. It took a lot of courage to attack a robber, especially someone as timid as his twin. "I'll ask the guards for any information later on. If they're still about I'll make sure they get their punishment. Otherwise I'll have to train harder so that I can bring justice to them in the future." Though he didn't hold a bow in hands, Cyn was focusing his mind like he did. The storm that raged in his eyes softened, the winds dying down as natural state of calm washed over him. "Wouldn't be a good Twin if I didn't would I?"

Sy nodded to her brother. Her body was alright, aside from the cut and bruise, as well as the small headache, but it was her pride that was hurt the most. Even though she couldn't fight, didn't like to fight, she should have been able to defend her home. "No, sorry, I was more concerned with the broom hitting me in the face." As Cyn went to place a hand on her head she ducked a little and moved just so, so that he wouldn't be near her temple. This of course would move her curtain of hair away from the nasty looking bruise and show off the cut that was in the center of it. "I actually think mother went out to do just that." Though she couldn't be sure. Their mom had been muttering under her breath about something when she'd walked out the door.

Removing his hand from Syqvara's head, Cyn looked over the cut and bruise for only a moment. Sighing he'd let out a little chuckle afterwards. "Well you are her little angel. I pray that she isn't the one to find them. I would at least let them rot in a cell. Who knows what mother will do should she find them." Shaking his head at the image, Cyn scooted away from Sy, giving her some space on the couch. Stretching out his arms and legs, Cyn let out a tired sigh. "You're sure you're alright? No more cuts or injuries? Did they take anything you can think of or do anything?" Though he seemed more relaxed, and less concerned about his Twin, Cyn was still curious. "If ya don't know that's fine. Just wanna make sure you're really okay." An idea hit him, and Cyn would keep on with the assault. "I know you're not a fighter, but how about I teach you some things sometime? I haven't just been shootin targets and apples ya know. Plus if it's me teachin ya you won't have any problems right?"

So he saw the cut. Sy remained still for a moment and when he seemed to be relaxed on the couch she shifted slightly. Now that the cat was out of the bag she went ahead and tucked her hair behind her ear. "They took mother's necklace and my bracelets from my room." Again she shrugged. In truth she wasn't sure what else was missing. Syqvara hadn't gotten to look beyond that. So anything in her brother's room could have been taken and she'd not know. "No, no more cuts. Just the one. Mother checked." Boy did she ever. The leaf girl let out a small sigh and shrank back into the couch.

"I need to learn to fight, don't I?" It was inevitable. Especially if she wanted to become a shaman. Her sibling offered to teach her and she smiled at him. "That would be nice. Then I wouldn't have to worry about being awkward." Sy could learn more that way as well. With her twin she was herself. More at ease. Moving so that she was sitting next to him she'd lean over and rest her cheek against his shoulder, something she did when she needed comfort. "I'm sorry I let someone steal from the house, Cyn."

Shifting a little, Cyn moved so he could wrap a comforting arm around his twin's shoulders. "You did your best. I mean with how much Mother pampers you..." He cut himself off there, he didn't want to seem jealous or spiteful towards their single living parent. In truth he was thankful towards the woman for raising them the way she did. Though he did wish Syqvara hadn't been so sheltered, but that's why he had become to strong. He needed to be strong for the three of them, which is why Cyn learned to shoot a bow. "We can start slow, learn how to move your body freely. That way even if you get your weapon taken again you can just dodge the blow they return. Then we'll move onto the harder stuff if you're serious." In his mind, Cyn pictured the idea of Syqvara trying to dodge a broom, and just like what happened earlier the same result came to mind. He'd crack a small little grin in the corner of his mouth and slump more down the couch. It felt good to relax, let his body melt into the soft cushions of the couch. Today had been one of the harder sessions of the week, and rain or shine he had to push on. He ached all over his body and came home to news of an attack on his home. "You'll do better next time. You just need the resolve to not give up. That's part of the reason I've gotten so far."

She gave a small pout before she reached over and plucked a pillow off the couch to toss at him. "I didn't give up I was knocked out. Isn't there a difference?" Sy shifted slightly so that she could get up. Of course it caused her to be dizzy for a moment or two. Standing up too fast with a head injury. Yea, she was just asking to fall over. "I'm just glad they didn't take Chandra's book. I don't know how I could explain that I lost it." It was here that she realized she spoken out loud. Which meant her brother would wonder just who she was talking about since he knew anyone she spoke to in town. Thinking quickly she'd clear her throat. "Are you hungry? I can start cooking."

An arm would lazily move up to prevent the pillow from hitting him in the face. "I meant giving up on the training. Your muscles will ache, your feet will hurt, your body will be bruised." Cyn wasn't trying to scare her off, just let his twin know that it will take time and work to get anywhere. "You can take the night off. I'll cook something for us, and make sure Mother has some waiting if she doesn't return soon." With a groan, Cyn would start the process of getting his tired a** off the couch. Pushing himself up slowly so he sat upright, Cyn then placed his arms on his knees and pushed down while he pushed lightly with his legs. As he stood, Cyn would once again stretch his arms towards the ceiling. "Is it an interesting read?" He'd nonchalantly ask so that Syqvara wouldn't get suspicious of his intent. Cyn hoped she would just casually answer him and he'd keep the conversation going naturally. It would save her the embarrassment and let him get the answers to the questions in his head. Worst case he could ask around about this Chandra. Walking past Syqvara, Cyn would wait in the door way, fully expecting her to follow him to the kitchen.

She gave him a look. "I can't really give up on that since my teacher would be living across the hall from me." Sy could just imagine that one. If she tried to quit training it would result in Cyn simply waking her up early to train some more. Not that she'd protest. Her brother usually did what was best for her and if he felt she needed to learn these things, well then it was about time. Being told she could take the night off from cooking she eyed him a bit oddly. "You're the one that was training all day..." But that was about as much as she got out since he was already on his feet and walking to the kitchen.

Sy followed, of course, but mainly because she was semi determined to be the one that cooked. As he asked her about the book she nodded her head, thinking nothing of the innocent question. "Yes. It's mostly for healers, but I like learning about the plants in Jauhar. I'd like to see them some day." Which would be a feat since she hardly, if ever, really wandered far from the town. Though recently she'd been spending more time on the outskirts.
