How interesting...
The magus flicked his tail as he watched from his perch- a towering boulder with just enough room for someone with sure paws and a good eye to land. Below, a new life was beginning. A newly woven B'alam laid out in the silky, sparse grass of the floating island. It wasn't the first B'alam he had watched come into being, nor would it be the last. He was appointed to the islands in the sky, the walking mountains, to watch over and guide the newly-woven in the ways of their tribe. He taught them to fly, to dive, to read the air currents, and most importantly- how to live among their brothers and sisters.
She wasn't awake yet- but it wouldn't be long now. The body had to take its first breath, the heart had to pulse, and slowly sensations would begin to creep over the new-weave. He sat himself upright and opened his wings slightly, allowing him to balance on his small perch. The ringed moon was just peeking over the edge of the solitary island, illuminating the ground and the slender figure of the sleeping B'alam laying against it.

Shadows cast across the small floating island revealed the sleeping form of a new life. The rise and fall of the chest could be seen, along with the brown and tan colored coat, and strange patterns dappled part of the coat. An ear twitched and a snuffle was heard, one chocolate brown orb opening. Yawning, the figure pushed itself up, licking its chops as it looked around. White paws crossed over each other as the form took in its surroundings. "Where am I?" She surprised herself with her soft voice, ears pressing back against her head. She recovered quickly, licking a paw and washing it over her ears before licking the fur on her chest until it lie flat again.
Her eyes adjusted as she winced, a small breeze tugging at her fur. She shook herself a bit and felt something rustling on her back. Turning her head to look over her shoulder, she saw a large set of.... feathery wings. She tilted her head to the side. "Interesting..." she murmured to herself. Deciding to actually do something, she stood up slowly, one paw over the other before she hauled herself off her bum. Stumbling for a moment, she righted herself with a twist of her long, brown and white tail. Her eyes had already adjusted to the low lighting, but she finally realized that it was night time, the moon glowing bright in the night sky.
Arching her back, she stretched before looking up at the sky. The stars were beautiful, and she smiled, relaxed. Slowly she turned around the patch she had been laying on until she saw a large boulder, but what stood on top of it is what made her stumble back momentarily, squeaking softly. Flustered, she quickly licked down the ruffled fur on her chest, then shyly looked back up at the figure, ears slightly back. "I'm sorry. I didn't know anyone else was here..." she murmured apologetically to the male across from her. She had no idea how she knew he was a male, nor that she was female, but she could just feel it.Thalion I hope this is all right >.<

She spoke? So soon? The magus' brows raised as he watched the female slowly bring herself into the realm of the knowing. She moved, testing her new appendages, and turned her head to observe her surroundings. She spoke, surprisingly enough, quite fluently. He flicked his tail and tilted his head in thought. Observant. Curious. And, it seemed, polite from the get-go. A lovely addition to his tribe.
"Let's not cross paws putting a foot ahead of the other before its time." He raised a claw, indicating her first words. "Where you are is hardly as important as where you'll be going once you've learned what that means. But if you want an answer- in the middle of the Emerald Ring. Small islands, close together, but not a bad place to start if one could choose a place."
He watched as the female then proceeded to rise to her paws. Clumsy, as would be expected for one's first attempt, but she managed to find her paws quickly enough. That was, until she caught full sight of him.
He laughed, a deep sound from the pit of his belly, and gave a shake of his head. "That is the first time one of my sisters or brothers has startled at the sight of me." He stood himself up to his full height and opened his wings slightly, filling the space around himself with alabaster feathers. "Calm yourself, I am as far from a foe as one could get."Rosencranz Totally perfect! :3 No worries! :noogie:

Ruffling her wings together, she managed to get them laid down flat on her back again after a few moments. Shyly she looked away from the larger figure. "I am sorry. I just wasn't expecting someone else to be here... You said we are in the middle of an... Emerald Ring? What does that mean? And what are these small islands you speak of?" She was trying not to look like a fool, but she was certain he understood this was her first time... first time what? She had simply woken up, already in this place.
Her chocolate orbs looked around again, trying to see through the shadows, but to no avail. Everything was still a bit fuzzy to her. Instead, she moved towards the boulder that the larger figure was standing on. "You said you are not a... foe... then who or what are you? How did you find me here?" She tilted her head to the side a bit, tail tip twitching as she looked up towards him. She was afraid to meet his eyes directly, so she stared just off past his shoulder, but still in his direction. "I'd like to know more about this place... How I came to be here... And what I am. Can you tell me these things?"
Thalion Sorry it took so long again x.x I caught up on some sleep I've missed out on the past few days

This one was curious... that was a good thing but sometimes a little dangerous. Winds were impulsive by nature, he knew that better than any could, but there was a time to be impulsive and there was a time to take one's time and learn their footing. Her shyness was also...strange. She lacked confidence. She lacked a belly full of fire. She would be a work in progress.
He chuckled and shook his head. "One paw at a time. Let's not leap before we can even walk."
He pulled his wings in close and slid down the boulder he had been sitting on. He moved slowly, partly to demonstrate his words in a literal sense and to avoid spooking the sheepish newly-woven. "Islands are mountains standing apart from the earth. Some sit idle in the sea, but ours fly high above the standing ground. They move, unchained and unbound. The wind carries them and the sky embraces them. You are on one of them. Fitting, yes?"

The sides of her mouth twitched upward into a smile momentarily at his chuckle, and she nodded in response. She was a bit scared, not knowing exactly where she was, especially with it being so dark. But she also wanted to know more about this male in front of her. She had only just woken up, and she already wanted to know everything she could about the world. When he slid down the boulder towards her, she took a step back to make sure he had room. He wasn't too much larger than her, but large enough in comparison. Him suddenly being so close comforted her for some reason.
She nodded at his next statement, smiling once again. "So we are floating in the sky... Is that why I have these?" she murmured to herself as she stretched out a wing and examined it. Pulling it back in, she turned back to the male. "Are there more like us? Do they live on these islands?" She looked around curiously, even turning in a very slow circle to do so. It didn't seem like anyone else was there with them, but who knew? Once she realized there was no one else there, she sat, curling her tail around and over her front paws. Her eyes drew themselves slowly back to the male in front of her. "What can I call you?" Surely he had a title or a name, right?
