Elyo had walked into this particular coffee shop with little intentions. It was his same old haunt, where he could walk up to the counter and the barista knew exactly what he wanted. She commented nearly every day about the new book he'd have clutched to his side, and they made polite chatter about the weather or her schooling or whatever happened to pop up. Then he'd grab his coffee, settle down in the same old armchair, and read until he got hungry, when he would get up, wave to the barista, and go home to fix himself some dinner.
Today, however, was quite off. Today, it was not the same barista. It was some other guy whom he figured took the girl's shift for some reason or another. When he grabbed his coffee to sip it, Elyo found it scalding hot instead of its normal, perfect temperature. Glancing around, he noticed his favorite chair was taken - as was the one across from it - by some new couple chatting away animatedly, loudly. He huffed and shuffled over to a table with four seats, grabbing one and settling in unhappily. Today was just not his day. As he opened the book he realized he'd grabbed one he had already read. Typically, Elyo was not this forgetful. But today was not the usual day.
Resigned, Elyo leaned back and sipped on his too-hot coffee, hoping he would overhear a conversation worth listening in on, or something of the sort. He refused to leave just yet.

It was like any other day, Sovasu would always go to the local coffee shop for his daily tea. The barista would always make him something special. He always loved surprises when it came to his teas. After he'd get his tea, he'd go seat close to the window and enjoy the view before he'd have to head back to his little home for dinner. He'd always give a shy smile tot he girl before he'd leave. Although, this day was just getting stranger and stranger. The usual barista wasn't there with her chipper smile or cute wave. It was some other guy that had to ask him what kind of tea he'd want or just plain made it too awful to drink. He gave out a low sigh as he walked towards his usual seat, but it seemed someone else had taken it for the day. His ears drooped as he sighed once more. He looked around to see if there was any free seats. He walked with his head kinda low towards the table with a grey and white fox sitting alone. "Excuse moi, are these seats taken?" He asked shyly as he pointed towards the chair next to Elyo. His french accent always seemed it's strongest when he was nervous.

Not quite paying attention to his surroundings like he should've been, Elyo was startled when another male walked up to him, tea in hand, and asked to take the seat next to him. Sitting up, he nodded fervently. He really did enjoy the company of others, regardless of how talkative he was not. "Of-of course," he stammered out, glancing up at the other male. He took another sip of his coffee, mildly curious about his new visitor. The other was much flashier than Elyo was used to, being rather plain himself. And on top of that it seemed he had a French accent? It made Elyo's ears quirk just hearing it and the casual way he inserted vocabulary into his sentence, not even thinking about it.
Glancing down at his coffee, his deep gray eyes rose once again to the other male. He decided, they would be sitting together, he might as well introduce himself. "My, uh... my name's Elyo," He cringed a bit, completely hearing how awkward he sounded. It never seemed to be something he got over, regardless of how many others he spoke to. It was an intrinsic part of himself he desperately wished he could get over, but unfortunately that didn't seem to be happening any time soon. Hopefully the other male didn't judge him too harshly.

"Merci." Saying shyly as he sat delicately into the chair then set his tea down. He noticed the colors on the other male seemed to be something soothing to his eyes. The gray reminded him of clouds that were rolling in to rain. The white showed something of which reminded him of snow. He thought it looked quite beautiful. He blushed slightly, out of embarrassment, when he noticed that he was kinda staring at the other fox. "O-oh, I'm Sovasu. Pleasure to meet you, Elyo." He said as he picked up Elyo's paw, giving it a light kiss. It was sort of a habit since he had always seen his mother do this with people she didn't know. He felt his face grow hot after doing this. He was already feeling so awkward around this new fox that it made his wings spaz slightly. "I'm so sorry! I'm not use to being around beautiful new foxes." He said honestly then covered his face with his paws and wings. He was so embarrassed now.

Elyo couldn't help but continue to focus on the other's accent and utilization of French words. It was mesmerizing, to say the least. His eyes connected Sovasu's and he quickly darted his eyes away, still catching a quick hint of blush flutter across the other fox's pale purple face. It brought a bit to Elyo's own cheeks, as well as a pleasant little smile. He rarely had such great first interactions with others. It was rather refreshing, to say the least.
He was startled when Sovasu took his paw and kissed it - something he'd only heard of happening in fairytales. Knights rescuing princesses, that's how they would introduce themselves, on bended knee with a kiss on the hand. However, when the other fox called him "beautiful" Elyo was so shocked he nearly dropped his coffee, face quickly growing a deep shade of maroon. "O-oh..." he trailed off with wide eyes, watching as the male covered himself with both paws and wings fluttering. "It, uh... It's nice to meet you as well, S-sovasu," Elyo nodded, eyes still wide, unsure of what to say in response. "I, uh... thank you? For the compliment. You are, much... much the same. Handsome." His face remained a distinct shade of red for quite some time after that.

"Oui? You are not, as they say, embarrassed by my display of manners?" Sovasu asked as he moved one paw for him to peek out one eye. He was surprised this male had not gotten up out of his car and moved to another. He moved his paws off his face, " I apologize if my manners have put a mixed message out." He said he finally had calmed down. His wings were tucked at his side. He picked up his cup of tea to take a sip. "You come here often? It seems that you are out of place." He said as he set his cup back down. Whenever Sovasu had come to this shop, he'd always see Elyo in his favorite chair, but things seemed off today.

Still reeling over both the kiss and the compliment, Elyo wasn't quite sure that he'd heard the other male correctly. It was a strange observation to make, that he seemed out of place. Because he did, quite frankly. But it wasn't the shop - no, he came here often enough, he knew he didn't look the least bit uncomfortable with his surroundings. Quirking a brow at the other he tilted his head, appraising Sovasu. Although he didn't pay attention much to the outside world, perhaps he had seen that striking purple coat in here before...
Realizing that Elyo never answered the other male's question, he nodded a bit feverishly. This ended in an awkward chuckle. "Uh, yeah, I-I do." He glanced over to his normal seating with a frown. "I'm just, uh, a bit misplaced today. Have I... have I seen you here before?"

"Often, yes. Actually take a seat in the shop, no." Sovasu said with a slight frown. He never really had the people skills to actually stay in an establishment with so many foxes. He was quite the shy and flustered type. " I am, as you say, a very shy fox. I usually don't do well in crowds." He said before looking back at his cup. "Usually I get my drink and go home, but I always look at the crowd to see who are the usual foxes." He said sadly then pointed over towards the chair Elyo usually sat in. "That be ze chair you sit in, is it not?" He asked.

Nodding, Elyo understood entirely what Sovasu meant by that. This was some sort of quiet, gem of a coffee shop. No, it was rather bustling, and could be rather overwhelming. Elyo often felt the same way, a bit intimidated by the busy, sometimes loud atmosphere. He also wasn't the type to enjoy that, but he had been coming to the coffee shop before it'd gained notoriety for its delicious blends. After that, he'd already become sort of loyal to the place. It'd started to feel like a second home to him, regardless of the craziness it brought on sometimes.
Redness spread its way across his cheeks, realizing that Sovasu actually had been paying attention - even enough to take notice of the exact seat in which he usually sat. "I, uh, yeah, actually! How... why? Why do you remember that?" He blushed a bit more, shaking his head. "You're making me feel a bit, uh... ashamed I didn't take more notice of you. I'm... sorry for that. Regret, uh... I regret that, now." The color in his face deepened exponentially at the last bit. Elyo dipped his nose down to sip from his coffee, avoiding eye contact at all costs.
