So, the only way we can access these things is when we're transformed? But while we're in these dumb get ups...we're sitting beacon ducks for baddies to come a whuppin', all the more if we're nose down to a book? The universe is kidding me, right? Sandrine walked along some of the practice fields for the soccer and baseball teams, on towards the track and field expanse. Finally, the basic senshi ended at the storage containers for much of the sporting equipment, as well as the back entry to the underways of the football stadium. The door was unsurprisingly a tumbler lock. Unsurprising and hoped for, since a tension wrench and pick rakes set from urban exploration were exactly what was brought in hopes of getting into the place. With football season far away, all the major surveillance cameras for the place were off, so there was no real threat of problems or security coming to check one of the maintenance closets. The Senshi of Execution spent a good 7 minutes fiddling, then opened the door with a rush of gas and old grass smell. Door shut behind, relocked, and over some lawn equipment to the other door and it was into the service hall towards the locker rooms in the maze of cement and linoleum. It stank like bleach water and old sweat.
At least its someplace relatively difficult to barge in on, though, if someone or something is going to try to make my insides into outsides while I'm trying to read my 'mentor'. Some primer. Don't die while partaking, padawan. It didn't tale too long to find a secluded spot on a corner bench in one of the off mens' saunas. It smelled like cedar, and the wood was well polished with care and use. The strategy of using it was a little questionable, considering the small space and single space meant an overwhelming assault made it a trap, but its out of the way position in the maze of the facility and the same smallness made it hard to find. Safety through invisibility, as it were. Another door shut, and Sandrine drew up long legs to the bench to prop phone and arm against while leaning against the wall.
'celestial body for which you are named. '- great, so somewhere out there is something called 'Sandrine'? A few pages and paragraphs later answer the question more fully, going through Guardian Cats, Power Levels, The Negaverse, Youma, Corrupted Senshi, The 'DMC', Knights, and finally to Space Travel. Reincarnation and whole world deaths was a lot to just lay out there, and even moreso with so little offered in the way of examples. Blue eyes shifted from the screen and reading the information to the navigational button supposedly indicated. Just focus and go, huh? And its all old Coventry Cathedral and some Giza thrown in together with a graveyard. Is there any sort of listing of what people have found started anywhere? Any pictures or stuff ? There's no links in this section. Random space travel seems like a bad idea. Aren't we going to get all contaminated with space bacteria like in Prometheus? Or what about breath-ability of the air? Wouldn't that be useful to relate in something like this? I mean, there's plenty of young people out there with the wherewithal to understand recycling and air pollution and stuff. And lots entering crazy science fairs and coding out whole android apps for stuff- I'm pretty sure that there's gotta be some of the other senshi and knights that understand the idea of 'invasive species' even from personal experience with brown marmorated stink bugs.
I guess since its just supposed to be a 'Primer' all these names of people at the end decided that keeping it all to blurbs would avoid the tl;dr effect. Except so much of this is 'don't give up hope! by the way these things will kill you!' Is there really a too long for explaining stuff like that? This is really what Ida thought I should have a mentor? I mean, the whole Brady bunch sound off, and the teleporting stuff is nice, but it isn't exactly an encyclopedia or 3-credit course. It's like the syllabus of senshidom. And no, whatever this dumb intro says, there's not exactly a wide array of people out there to partner up with. I go out like pretty often and I never meet anyone. Bad luck? It must be. Alright. Granted, there were a LOT of people at the fun house shindig. So where have they all gone since then? Sandrine returned attention to the screen to finish out what little the primer had to offer, pushing away considerations of experimenting with 'space travel' for another time. The dangers it posed to people on returning were enough that it warranted asking someone who has some sort of experience ahead of trying it out. There were a bunch of names linked in the primer itself - Eternal Sailor Maia, Eternal Sailor Gunn, Eternal Sailor Kallichore, Eternal Sailor Athene, Eternal Sailor Tsui, and Guardian Ash. Surely one of them had to be available for a simple answer. Or hopefully simple.
