Personality: Friendly to most, or at the least civil on the outside. Cyn tends to keep things inside of himself and not let the world know what is going on in his head. It allows him to keep up his attitude for those he cares for. Though when he wields a bow, Cyn is level headed, calculating, and almost distant. His concentration is stretched to the max and it allows him some inner quiet a thing he needs often. With a bow in hand, Cyn is a no nonsense guy, but without a weapon he is more carefree. The occasional joke here and there, but only if the timing is right or something really funny comes to mind. He's isn't a comedian, but can laugh. Growing up to be responsible hasn't made him a robot, Cyn is 'normal'. His lighter side comes out more when dealing with his Twin, though mostly when alone or in private company. Around strangers he tries to act like an older brother caring for a much younger sibling. Though at the same time, Cyn recognizes Syq's strengths and will do his best to help her become a Shaman, news of which came as a pleasant yet baffling surprise. When he and Syqvara are together, Cyn typically ends up speaking for his sister, offering the shy girl a steadying hand on her shoulder or a pat on the head for reassurance. Though he will try and make the girl speak for herself only stepping in when it gets unbearable, or things go south. While not a sister complex, the male does care for her deeply.

Description: Like his sister, Cyn is of a darker tan skinned variety of Leaf Earthlings. Inheriting the same reddish brown hair, Cyn can be seen wearing a hood to hide it. Underneath the hood, his deep emerald green eyes barely shine through unless the light directly touches them. His hair is normally always cut proper, keeping it short and out of the way. Though on occasion he'll allow it to get longer in which case he combs it back. The pink crystals that decorate his kind's bodies find themselves in no particular order and any kind of pattern.
Clothing: Typically he is wearing a dark green vest, rugged in it's make, with a large hood attached to it. The vest can either be sleeveless or full sleeved depending on the time of the year or what needs to be done. His pants are either of a similar make and color, form fitting but not restrictive enough to prevent agile movements, or they are black in color. Unlike his sister, Cyn can be seen wearing something to cover his feet. Be it a simple 'sock' like cloth to help soften his steps or full on boots. Accessories: Other than straps on his clothing for tools and the such, Cyn keeps his load light. His clothing, and possibly a bow and quiver are all you'll see him with. The less noise you make when walking the better it is.

History
Growing up, he was half sheltered from the war, only hearing bits and pieces when news came about his father. In his father's absence Cyn was forced to mature quickly, becoming the 'man' of the house. This was further driven home with how shy and introverted Syqvara is. He would often have to do all of the speaking for her. Despite these 'hardships' Cyn keeps a positive outlook on life using Sy's shyness as a way to care for her openly without being doting. Like their father, Cyn trained in the art of war, preferring to learn his race's brand of archery. He favors the bow over any other weapon, if absolutely required to use one. Cyn doesn't dislike his mother for sheltering Syqvara, nor for her reliance on him. He doesn't hate his mother, it would be hard to do so as she raised the two of them alone while their father fought for glory, for peace, or because it was required. (Whatever his reasons may be) He doesn't quite agree with how their mother treats Syq, she was shy to begin with, but pampering her so only made it worse. At the same time though, he loves his sister and knows he would likely follow a similar path. As it is now, Cyn gives into Syq when speaking for her. Being the man meant he had to learn to protect those he cared for, which is part of how Cyn began to follow the path of the bow. With the war now over, Cyn keeps up with his training just in case he needs it. As for the other races, Cyn doesn't harbor any ill will towards them, though he will be weary of them if they showed up in front of him. War happens, people die, it shouldn't cloud your judgement, but caution is always applied.

Cyn left the house as quiet as he could, the sun barely rising over the horizon as he did. He didn’t want to wake his mother and sister, not that they would stop him mind you, but they would surely make him explain where he was going and why. Though, to alleviate any worry he left a quickly scribbled note saying some excuse about going out to look at the sunrise and would be back. Though the sun’s light barely tickled the lands many people seemed to be up and about, well more than Cyn expected. The people Cyn was expressly looking for seemed to begin their days this early. He was looking for the trainers in martial ways, swordsmen, archers, and the lancers. Today was the day Cyn would follow in his father’s footsteps just a bit. Cyn had spent the last few days thinking over his future, what he would do to protect his family while his father fought to protect the realm. The only way to do this was learn the art of war, though the prospect frightened Cyn. He saw the pain it caused his mother, even if she didn’t openly show it. Even the way she treated Syqvara showed how much his mother wanted to protect her children from the war.
Shaking his head to clear the thoughts, Cyn pressed forward towards where he could see people practicing with sword. Approaching an older Leaf Earthling, Cyn spoke up with his intents. With a smile the male directed him towards a rack of wooden swords. “Try joining in with the other students, observe their movements, and see if you can copy them.” With a nod the younger Leaf walked to the rack, selecting a medium sized blade, one that looked like he could wield with ease. Watching the other students, Cyn noticed there was a pattern to their swinging. They were practicing the basics, getting the movements to become second nature to them. Finding a spot where he had enough room to move around and swing the wooden instrument, Cyn tried his best to copy the other students. Out of the corner of his eye, Cyn could see the instructor’s gaze upon him, a smile on his face. Going back to his movements, focusing solely on trying to get them down Cyn ignored the instructor’s gaze till his voice broke out. “Alright, swords down, take a breather and get a drink if you need it. We’ll move onto practice duels in ten minutes.” He then walked over to Cyn and held out his hand. “Come back tomorrow if you’d like to join us again. That’s when I can formally begin to teach you. Today you did good copying their movements and adjusting them to your size and power. Keep at it and you’d catch up to them in no time boy.” Understanding him, Cyn handed over the wooden sword over to the Instructor. “Thank you, I will keep that in mind sir. I appreciate you allowing me to join in, even if informally.” With a quick bow, Cyn left the grounds, a smile on his face. Using a sword came easy to him, or so he thought, the teacher’s words getting to his head. It seemed finding his place was easier said done than said, the path of the sword was the right place for him. His heart knew it, his mind thought he knew it, and Cyn couldn’t be more overjoyed. Deep within his subconscious though Cyn knew that while he could undoubtedly become a great warrior it didn’t feel fitting.
As he walked, a bright smile on his face either way, Cyn stopped dead in his tracks. In front of him stood a man, still as a statue with a bow in hand, his eyes focused on a wooden target some yards away. In one quick moment the man pulled the string back, two arrows flying loose from the bow. Cyn shook his head quickly at the sight as if his eyes didn’t believe what he saw. Wait, two arrows? When did the man fire the second one? Only one arrowed had been nocked when Cyn first saw him. Dumbstruck he moved closer and the Archer noticed his presence immediately. “You look like you’ve seen a ghost. Do I know ya?” The man looked over Cyn, top to bottom and shook his head. “You’re baffled how I shot two arrows ain’t ya boy?” With a smirk on his lips the older male extended his bow arm out to Cyn. “Ya ever fire one son? It ain’t as easy as some make it look to be. Takes years of practice to do what I just did. Let’s see what ya got lad.” Nodding silently Cyn took the bow from the man and stood where he had been previously. “I’m gonna hand ya an arrow and I want you to try shootin that target over there. Don’t worry if ya can’t hit it right away though. First things first, take the arrow and try nocking it. Get the sting between the slits, and let the arrow rest on that protrusion.” Fumbling in his disbelief and lack of knowledge, Cyn tried to follow the man’s instructions carefully. Once he finally got it in place, the man spoke again. “Good, now try pulling the string back. Careful though, it’ll take a lotta strength since you’re usin a bow meant for an adult. Whatever you do, don’t let it slip or you could break it. If it becomes too hard to handle, slowly release the bow string and let it come back to its natural shape.”
Pulling back with his arm, Cyn’s body naturally raised both arms up to imitate the man’s stance from earlier. With his arms now fully horizontal, Cyn began to pull back more on the bow and it resisted greatly. He would struggle on though, keeping the man’s words in mind. After all this wasn’t his bow, and breaking it wouldn’t be the correct thing to do. Once it became too much, Cyn would gently let the bow go back into its natural state. Stubborn as he may be, Cyn knew when to push his limits and when not too. Surprisingly though he managed to pull the string back fully. “Good, good. You’re doin better than I expected lad. You’ve got quick the strong arms don’t cha?” There was a bit of chuckle from the man as he looked over Cyn. “Now let it go. Let your feelings fly with the arrow as it shoots forward.” The man’s words never registered in Cyn’s mind though, for he was now in his own little world. Things sounded so crisp now. He could hear the people moving about the village, the insects flying through the air, the very wind seemed to be speaking to him and him only. Deep emerald eyes focused now, the storm that clouded his vision before now cleared, his target in sight. Letting the arrow fly, Cyn watched it’s trajectory with bated breath. The arrow hit, just barely on the outer edge of the target. It was nowhere near the man’s two arrows which sat nicely next to each other in the dead center. “Not bad for your first shot. Did that clear things up for ya lad?” Turning his head to look at the male, Cyn gave him a confused look. “What?” He’d ask expressing said confusion.
“Ya seemed excited on the outside, but I could see it in your eyes. Somethin was bothering you deep down, and swingin a sword didn’t seem to be the answer. You only thought it was didn’t ya?” Taking a step back, Cyn dropped the man’s bow onto the ground. Cyn’s look of confusion only grew fiercer as thoughts filled his head. “I saw ya earlier, swinging that wooden toy tryin to imitate the others. Just like ya did when you first drew back the string to fire the arrow. Always the good boy who does the right thing, to the best of his ability ain’t ya? Cept when you got the string back all the way. That’s when your eyes became less clouded didn’t it? Things became much more apparent, the world didn’t stop, but it felt slowed down and you could hear things couldn’t you?” Cyn continued to step back, how did this man know how he had felt? “H-how do you know these things!” He’d call out frantically. “It’s because it is the exact same thing for me boy. When I draw the bow, things become much simpler. Black and white you might say. My senses focus solely on the shot, kill or be killed. Whatever you’d like to call it.” The man bent down and picked up his bow, brushing of a bit of dirt that had gotten on it. “From tomorrow onward you’re my student, and I don’t think you’ll have any objections do ya?” Cyn had finally stopped backing up, his feet now firmly planted into the ground. So it was the same with this man too? Thinking on it for a moment, Cyn looked deep within himself. Unlike after using the sword, there was no doubt, no hidden worries. Sure the teacher’s praise had made Cyn happy, made him feel like he could do it. Yet, this man understood him with barely any words and only viewing him shoot once. “Fine. When, where, and what time. I’ll get you to teach me how to fire as well as you do. I have things to protect, and anything but strictest training won’t do.” The man chuckled at Cyn for a moment before grinning. “Then let your parents know you’ll be coming back with bruises and whelps boy. No kid gloves from the start since you’re so adamant.”

The people of Tendaji seem to be settling in - and some in places far from their homeland. The tensions are high, and with the whispers of the Alkidike planning an offensive… well, some have been on edge and ready for a fight. Were the outsiders going to help their people when the time came to fight the extremist Alkidike? Most of the natives to the area had their doubts.
An argument had broken out in the market, verbal at first, but it wasn’t long before it became a physical confrontation.
This prompt can be played from either side: your character can be the instigator, or on the defense.
This battle prompt will be resolved by rolling 1D100. xxxxxPrentice must roll 70-100 for success. xxxxxStage 2 must roll 60-100 for success. xxxxxStage 3 must roll 50-100 for success. xxxxxStage 4 must roll 40-100 for success.

“Go get what’s on the list for me boy. We’ll need it for training and it’ll be good for you to stretch your legs before we begin. We wouldn’t want you getting a pulled muscle because you didn’t move around enough.” With a sly smile Cyn’s teacher sent him off with a shooing motion and another ‘Go on get going look’. Under his breath Cyn cursed lightly at his teacher’s recent streak of laziness when it came to things such as this. If he was really worried about Cyn pulling something, the smart thing to do was just stretch before they started, like the two always did. At the same time though, it did give Cyn a break in the early morning for once. This would allow him to just enjoy the early morning sun without the threat of a punch to the face, or even an arrow screaming towards his body. Laughing to himself, Cyn remembered his teachers final words on the night Cyn chose to study with him. ‘Then let your parents know you’ll be coming back with bruises and whelps boy. No kid gloves from the start since you’re so adamant.’ The man hadn’t been kidding, but Cyn was thankful for that fact. He felt like an adult, closer to his father’s image. The crowd began to fill up more room as Cyn got closer to the markets, which he expected. After all the mornings have the freshest ingredients, and the most stock. “Stupid girl tried to hit me with the damn broom, so I took it from her and whacked her back over the head with it. She fell with one swing, just like a frail leaf.” A voice caught Cyn’s attention over the noise of the crowd; maybe it was because of the content being talked about. Heading towards the source of the sound, Cyn noticed a pair of Alkidike laughing, one of the two in particular caught Cyn’s eye. She was tossing a bracelet up into the air and then catching it in the same hand as they walked. It was familiar to him, and the urge to rush the woman welled up in Cyn’s mind. Taking a breath to calm himself, Cyn decided it was best to follow the two. It wouldn’t be good to attack them in broad daylight for no reason. Keeping himself out of sight, but within hearing distance Cyn kept his attention focused on the two. “How much would you give me for this pops?” The Alkidike female was speaking to a merchant and holding out the bracelet for him to look at. Looking up at the two in front of his stall the merchant stuttered something that Cyn didn’t quite catch. “Huh? Whadda you mean you won’t buy it off me? What good are you then you damned leaf.” Once again the urge to rush and then pummel the Alkidike was strong but as it was now Cyn had no probable reason to do so without himself getting in trouble. Lost in his thoughts and trying to get closer Cyn noticed the female now had the shop keeper by the collar and was screaming at him close up. The two had drawn a crowd, but no one dared step in and help since the instigators were Alkidike and tensions grew more and more each day when they were involved. Now was the time to act and Cyn moved fluidly and silently towards the two.
“I think it’s best if you let him go. Wouldn’t want the guards called on you now would you?” Cyn was trying to act natural, so as to not agitate them more, despite wanting them to come after him. Dealing with this peacefully was the correct way to do things and Cyn knew it regardless of scummy these guys were. “Huh? What’s it with you leafs trying to act the hero. Last one who tried to stop me took a bash to the head.” While she turned his head to look at Cyn, the Alkidike never let go of the merchant, keeping the man pulled forward by his collar.
“Oh I know. The one you hit was my sister by the way. You aren’t that tough if you’re taking out defenseless girls and then stealing their bracelets are ya? Figure you can just yell and act tough and no one will stop you?” Mentioning his sister as a threat changed Cyn’s thoughts on the matter. He wanted the Alkidike to swing at him now. No one insults Syqvara and then uses her memory as a way to prove his toughness.
The provocation seemed to work as the woman let go of the shopkeeper’s collar and moved closer to Cyn, trying to get up in his face. “Well ain’t you a good brother. Did your sister cry and tell you to come beat me up because she was so damn weak?”
“I just happened to walk by and notice you tossing my siblings property around then try to pawn it off to that guy over there. Just came to give you a warning before someone got the guards, figured you’d appreciate it. They can be quite rough and wouldn’t want the frail girl beater getting hurt now would I.” Before Cyn could edge them on further the Alkidike took a swing at him but they were slow. Turning his body towards the right Cyn slipped himself into the inside of their punch. Pressing himself against the woman’s body Cyn grasped the extended arm with one of his own. His other arm slipped under theirs and Cyn pulled forward with his strength and the girls own momentum. Cyn could feel her body press against his back then flip over top of him and thud on to the ground. He of course still had the Alkidike’s arm in his grasped. Kneeling down on the girl’s shoulder blade with his knee, Cyn stretched the held arm out so it couldn’t be bent. The Alkidike was in a holding technique Cyn’s teacher had shown him and on many occasions used against Cyn himself. “I suggest you lay there till the guards arrive. Struggling will only hurt more and any attempts to escape or hit me will result in me breaking this arm.” To prove a point Cyn bent the arm backwards unnaturally and the girl yelped in pain.
Looking over to where the other Alkidike had been, Cyn was going to reprimand them too but noticed she was gone. “See, your friend abandoned you the second someone stronger showed up.” That’s when Cyn felt the blow at the back of his head and then heard the sound of wood breaking. The missing girl had gone to look for a weapon in the short amount of time it took Cyn to subdue her friend. His gripe loosened and Cyn stumbled forward off the pinned woman. His vision doubled and swayed like he had been out on the town drinking his troubles away. Still though he kept his conscious and turned himself around just in time to see the other Alkidike come swinging at him sideways once again with the broken board. Moving himself forward sloppily, Cyn raised an arm and impacted his upper arm with the attackers. This prevented her from hitting him with the board but it was by luck. Seeing double was doing a number on his senses and made it harder to react. With his other arm, Cyn made a quick jab at the woman’s stomach to try and push her away. Much like he planned, the woman recoiled backwards when he struck her. In the distance Cyn swore he could hear the guards coming, their yells of ‘Coming through’ and ‘Don’t move’ gave his mind the excuse it needed. His vision faded black as blood trickled down his neck from the gash on his head. He had almost won too, how could he face his teacher let alone Syqvara?

Steps forward... Solo WC:568
Cyn sat on the edge of his bed, bare feet touching the cold morning floor. “Another dream about traveling…” Smirking only to himself, Cyn stood up and gave his body a good stretch to work out the kinks from sleeping. “Damned girl. She just had to go an grow up without me…” Extending one leg out to the side, Cyn bent into the extended side stretching his right leg. Mimicking the action with his left side, Cyn then bounced up and down on his heels for a moment. “Guess it’s time I do the same.” Rolling his shoulders as he walked out of the room, Cyn stopped only briefly to dress then drink a glass of water before he left the house. Light barely graced the horizon as Cyn stepped outside and the male made sure to close the door gingerly as to not wake the others. He had left the house a little earlier than normal, though not by much as he wanted to take his time and walk to where he met his trainer daily.
Cyn needed the extra time to think on how he’d ask for permission to leave. Did he even need the man’s permission? It’s not like they were father and son, but Cyn still respected the man enough to at least ask. Cyn wanted to know if in his eyes, Cyn was ready to face the outside world on his own. That was the best explanation he could come up with in his head and Cyn chuckled at his own lack of confidence. Where had it all gone to over the years? Cyn had always been the cheerful, energetic twin but lately it felt like their roles had been swapped. Not to say Syqvara was ever really gloomy or lax though. The bumbling mess of blush and stutters had found a reason to move on and better herself.
It was time Cyn did the same. Syqvara wanted to become a Shaman to show people there were other ways. Cyn wasn’t nearly as noble in his desires or dreams. Using a bow felt right, it cleared his mind, and it was something he had become good at over the years. It was unknown when another war would spark, but Cyn wanted to be prepared. He had no desire to kill, but he did however want to protect his family like their father had done. Off in the distance Cyn heard a low rumble as thunder echoed through the open air. Cyn chuckled at the comedic timing and cracked a smile. “Thanks dad.” During their early childhood Syqvara had been afraid of thunderstorms, and in his infinite wisdom as a child Cyn told her that thunder was just the sound of their father fighting to protect them. Maybe there was truth to that story, maybe their father was protecting them this whole time.
Upon arriving to the area Cyn always trained at, he noticed his trainer wasn't here. Cyn had somehow arrived first. It was an odd feeling to be the first one here in the brisk morning. Once again Cyn began to stretch himself, though these stretches were more strenous so that he would be limber and able to move freely. Hearing a leaf crunch under a footstep Cyn turned around to see his trainer approaching. "Good morning. I need to ask you something, and I want you to be honest with me..."

..the future, and the plan for a gift. Solo WC: 1050
Cyn's trainer looked at him for a moment, his eyes going over the boy trying to gauge what the problem was. "Do you think I'm ready to take on the outside world? If I wanted to leave Tale do you think I could handle myself?" Cyn spoke up before the man could even reply. He seemed eager, and the older male stayed silent for a moment. "You aren't ready. No one is boy. That's the secret." With a nod the man began walking forward and as he passed Cyn he raised an arm up and gave Cyn's shoulder a pat. "We'll train as usual and at the end I'll answer you once again." For some reason Cyn cracked a smile at his teacher's words. He hadn't denied him despite the failure in the market, he hadn't just flat said no, and he what he said made sense to some extent. Expect the unexpected, and be prepared for anything was the meaning Cyn took from his words. "Right."
The sun began to set before Cyn and his teacher were done with their daily routine. The lessons were fun for Cyn, though they did tire you out. Work outs, accuracy training, and many others things one right after the other. The hardest thing they did was hand to hand exercises. Trying to overpower the older male proved to be a challenge when Cyn first started, and still gave him trouble all these years later. As Cyn sat on the ground for a moment to catch his breath the other Leaf male sat next to him. "What brought this on boy? I knew it would come to this one day, but I'd like to know none the less."
"My sister, Syqvara, you know her I'm sure. She used to be the shyest thing to grace your presence, and now she's growing up. I feel like I'm being left behind. Hell she's recently she became a spirit worker. I've got martial prowess and a sense for survival but I've never left this place. Recently she brought a friend home, one that had traveled around and healed many people. I'm not sure what I can do with a bow and arrow, but I want to experience the world with fresh eyes." He'd pause for a moment, another reason sat at the back of his mind. It was something that had only very recently popped into Cyn’s mind. "If war were to start again I want to be prepared. I have people to protect and I can't do that sitting in one place."
The other man simply nodded as Cyn finished saying what was on his mind. "Then go out into the woods for me. I want you to take my old bow and catch something with your own hands. No help from your sister or anyone else. We'll use what you catch to make a gift for her and it will be a reminder of what you want when you see her using it. You've got two days from tomorrow to return here with something. If you do, I'll permit you to leave my training for some time while you go find yourself."
Cyn nodded to the man, and quickly went about clearing up their supplies. As he left though he took a few quivers of arrows and the bow he always used for training. “I’ll see you in two days then” With a nod the man gave Cyn a shooing motion. With a quick chuckle and smile, Cyn headed off towards his home, a little pep in his step. It wouldn’t be the first time he’s been out in the wild to go hunting, but it was the first time he would be doing it alone. Along with that, it would be the first time he could go out farther than his teacher allowed. As he walked, Cyn said a silent pray for his success. Before he knew it, Cyn was standing in front of his home’s door. Opening the door Cyn stepped inside and gave a quick greeting to let anyone that was home know he had entered. No one seemed to be back yet which was a good thing, it would give him time to think and plan his mission. “I don’t want to catch anything small. It would feel like cheating…”He’d mutter to himself. “But maybe after I catch something worthy, I’ll grab a smaller animal to make Syq a gift by myself. It’ll be my way of congratulating her on her ascension along with what we discussed earlier.”
Cyn began to move around the house, getting things together that he’d need. He planned on staying out in the wilderness just like he and his teacher had done before. It would allow him to get a feel for the land become more attune to it. Cyn also packed light so he could be quick in movement, and keep scents of civilization to a minimum. As he finished off the packing Syqvara and their mother returned from shopping. It was then that he told them of his trial. Though Cyn neglected to mention his reasons for doing it, and the idea he had thought of earlier. It was to be a surprise for Syqvara and there was no guarantee that he’d even pass. Spending the night talking to the two, and eating a dinner prepared by their mother, Cyn turned in earlier than normal to help get sleep. He wanted to leave early in the morning, before even the sun had risen.
Cyn’s plan for the first day was to observe the wildlife and learn their patterns, their quirks. His time limit was two days, but as much as it pained Cyn, he couldn’t deny that observing was the best choice. Though if by chance an opportunity presented itself Cyn was determined to not let it pass by. These thoughts rattled in his mind until the sweet embrace of sleep drifted the leaf along its path. As planned Cyn awoke an hour before the sun would rise. Given the time it would take to get to the place Cyn had in mind, the sun would just be raised when he arrived. And so Cyn strapped up, grabbed the bow his teacher had entrusted him with and headed off into the waking dawn.
