Though it would seem likely that most of the delinquents belonged to the classes of Walden and Arcadia, a few of the deranged teenagers belonged to Phoenix, where Auden was from. Everyone was duly quiet about the crimes that were committed, why they were committed, or even how they were committed. It was one of his biggest pet peeves, Auden, not knowing things. He loathed secrets.

His father had a high power over most of the working class, much like every Phoenix that belonged on the Ark did. It wasn’t power on it’s own, it was just known that residents of the Phoenix held higher position than every other on the space. However, his father was in charge of the mechanical department. He made sure that fuel pipes and containers were filled, all the wires were assorted correctly, that no rodents had made their way into the ventilating system, and that the oxygen pipes were intact.

Oh yes, word had made its way around how one of the delinquents had gone and made life expectancy shorter for everyone else on the Ark; Wells Jaha. He’d burned the only tree in outer space, just to make sure he could get a seat sitting next to his lover, Clarke Griffin. Well, they weren’t lovers now, not after he’d ratted out about her parental to his father, Chancellor Jaha. If it wasn’t meant to be said, it got said. Especially if it were drama from the upper class.

Auden pushed his eyebrows together and sat up on the chair from leaning back. On Phoenix, there was more oxygen being reserved for them, as if in a time of crisis it was worth it to save the rich longer. After a few hours in the jail area dedicated to delinquents though, the air was already running thin. He stood up and walked to the door of his residence, looking out of the peep hole and at the people talking in the hall. One of them was his mother. Even if he were to press his ear against the cold metal to hear what they were saying, it’d be no use. In Phoenix, they had a habit of speaking in a hush-hush tone. It confused him why she would be in the prison area in the first place anyway. His lips curved up into a smile, thinking about how he’d earned a position being a delinquent.

Well, to start it off, he was grounded. Failed a test in class for the millionth time, back talked to his father, and turned down the position of being a guard. According to his mother, he was under house arrest. All it took was one day, him looking through the window on the door to see her talking to Vice Chancellor Kane. Going against his mother’s will, he opened the door and stepped out, shortly after hearing a gasp. He turned his head, just to see his mother whip around.

“Auden,” She hissed, moving forward, making hand motions for him to go back into the room. “I told you, stay in there until I’m finished discussing with Vice Chancellor Kane.”

To this, Auden looked over his mother’s shoulder towards the man who wore a crooked smile. His hair looked as if it hadn’t been combed in nearly a year, which was unusual. Perhaps he hadn’t taken care of his hair with the amount of stress he’d been under. For a moment of silence, Auden moved his head back down to looking at his mother’s face, then back at Kane. It remained silent, and Auden watched as Kane began to squirm in an uncomfortable manner, as if he were afraid. Auden must have interrupted something.

“Don’t worry about it, Shelley. We still have time to discuss.” His hand was shaky as it moved up to adjust his tie. Such formal wear for a soon death. He drew in a breath, then walked down the hall, the heels of his shoes clacking against the metallic floor.

Auden turned to his mother, taking a step backwards to put some space between them. He cocked up an eyebrow. “What were you guys talking about?”

Her cheeks turned a flushed red, as if she weren’t expecting him to ask a question like that after watching the Vice Chancellor walk away in such a peculiar manner. “We were discussing a possible solution to get some extra food ration points for you and your father, as well as me. Because now with all of those recent deaths, there’s just points that won’t be in use, and are just sitting there.” She gave a small smile, flashing her white teeth. However, her eyes showed she was nervous.

“You know, you’d think you’d be honest with me before we die. It’s the least you could do.” Auden huffed, walking down the hall. He had never been very optimistic about living on a man-made structure made three generations ago. Usually, he would have told his mother where he was going, but this time he ignored her calls of ‘where are you going?’ and ‘get back here!’. But, the Chancellor was just straight ahead in his sight, and he wasn’t going to pass this up. “Hey, Kane.” He called out when he was closer.

Just as he thought, the Vice Chancellor turned around, and Auden jumped him, holding his hands tightly around his neck, his thumbs pressing hard. “Are you going to tell me what you were talking about?”

Auden’s fingers brushed against the log of wood he was sitting on. As he shifted his body weight, he could hear the crackling of his nutrition pack crackling in his pocket. The last thing he wanted was for anyone else to hear it cracking about. He looked up, his dark brown eyes scanning the forestry area around them. It seemed to him that these woods would go on for miles and miles. There were people hard at work, and some just standing about. That Clarke girl was doing both all at once. She’d already made multiple announcements about ‘being careful what you eat because of radiation’, ‘we need to get to that mountain over there, it’ll take weeks if we just sit here’, and with the help of Wells, ‘we need to divide up the nutrition packets.’ What they apparently didn’t realize, and daddy Chancellor didn’t tell Wells was that there weren’t enough packets for all one hundred for even three days. One packet didn’t equal three separate meals.

A boy approached him, one he recognized as Murphy. Auden gave a smirk, squinting up at the male, bringing up a hand to shield his eyes from the sun. “Can I help you, Murphy?”

Murphy nodded his head and looked around, nodding his heads towards structures that were being built, hunters that were going out, and people that were taking care of the already injured. “What are you doing, here? Just sitting?”

“Well,” Auden stood up, slowly, careful not to make the packet crackle. “I’m not bothering anyone just sitting here, am I? Look, I’ll get to work building the shelters and what not in a few minutes. I’m just absorbing all this nature.” His smirk curved into a grin. He reached out and patted Murphy’s shoulder, then walked out into the opening where he was shortly swallowed by the crowds of people.

MADDOX WHITE

"We do not see things as they are. We see things as we are."

|| OUTFIT || WEAPON ||

"When you get caught, you are sh!t out of luck White." The blonde haired girl found herself often hiding in the lab at night where her father worked when insomnia took over. She'd of course swiped his key card and snuck in without permission, but that was Maddox. Breaking the law and hearing about it from a lowly janitor that knew better than to go and tattle tale. She enjoyed looking at the live trees and reading the books about what life was like down on planet Earth. It all seemed unlikely to Maddox, but it was a nice fantasy to escape to. Hard proof was what she needed. Just looking through the window past the stars and towards the little blue planet wasn't enough to convince her. She wanted to plant her feet on the ground and explore the he|| out of that |3itch. More than anything, she wanted to see a creature with a tail on both ends of it's body. Her father called them Elephants, but either way, they interested her. Auden use to tease her about them when she drew pictures in her sketch book.

After reading one of the books on her father's desk for the fifth time that year, Maddox grew bored and decided to head back to her room. Arcadia had a curfew for children under age, and Maddox was no exception since she didn't quite look eighteen yet. She'd been arrested once for breaking curfew and was graciously given a warning and a hit in the back of her head. Such a simple thing, but their district was strict. Being in a lower-class, people liked to remind her of rules and regulations and to be a good example to the other kids her age. Then, she'd have to remind them that she WAS twenty two years old and couldn't give less of a sh!t. The rules were more like guidelines in her book and in just about every chapter of her life, you could read about her thieving and pick-pocketing. Key cards were just the start. When she figured out just how good she was at it, she'd steal a little extra food for her younger brother or steal a weapon off a guard every once in awhile. She hadn't been caught yet...

Maddox was on the other side of camp, helping a few delinquents forge weapons with a stern look in her eyes. She'd rather be out exploring this new world or Bellamy's body instead of following orders from "princess". She stuck to her responsibilities though, survival mode kicking in and ready to pounce anything that threatened her. Jasper Jordan had been stealing glances at her every so often and she didn't understand why. She gave off an intimidating appearance but deep down, she was scared. Maybe he saw through her tough gait and wanted to just talk to her. Eventually while she was whittling a spear with a knife she stole off a guard, Jasper sauntered over like a cautious deer she'd seen in one of her father's presentations. She noticed his asian friend whose name escaped her, was watching closely, ready to come to his defense if necessary. "Can I get a bar in this town? I'd buy you a beer pretty lady." His voice kinda squeaked, like he didn't know how to talk to girls."If I am ever drunk, you might be d@mn good looking. Now scram." Maddox wasn't in the mood.
