Ciel had heard about an Easter egg hunt going on at the public library. She was very excited to check it out. She loved things like this and the fact that it was happening at the library made it even better. She made her way to the library after finishing her walk with Arthur. She entered the library delighted to see the the festive spirit in the library.
She wasted no time going over to her favorite section of the library, the mythology and folk lore section. This is so cool its like I'm on a quest only instead of treasure its eggs. She found her first egg on a shelf of Greek Mythology. It was a bright red egg and inside of it was a piece of candy and a slip of paper that said "The hero Theseus became the founding hero of Athens after he defeated the Minotaur. " Ciel grinned thinking about her own Theseus and what he must be doing right now.
She continued her search going next to the shelf on Norse Mythology. Here she found a baby blue colored egg, inside of it was a little pink plastic bunny toy and another slip of paper that said "Thor's magic hammer Mjölnir was actually supposed to be wielded with two hands but thanks to the trickster god Loki's mischief it was made too short and had to be used with one hand." Huh I didn't know that I should check out more Norse stuff it sounds really cool.
Her quest continued to the section on Japanese mythology. She found a yellow egg. It had another piece of candy and it's slip of paper said "The sun goddess Amaterasu once hid in a cave, which blocked out the sun, and was coaxed out when she heard the other gods dancing and having a good time. When she opened her cave she saw her own reflection in a mirror and was captivated by her own beauty so she did not flee back into the cave." Haha that sounds like a really silly story for a myth. I should read Japanese myths they sound like fun.
Ciel decided to go back to the Greek section again. This time she found a light green egg. Inside it was another plastic bunny, this one was lavendar. Yay! My favorite color. The paper said "The land of Hyperborea was believed to be far beyond the north wind which was thought to live in Thrace." Oh wow I didn't realize Hyperborea was from Greek Mythology I should read up on it, it might tell me a bit more about my wonder.
She decided to go to her favorite shelf next, the shelf of medieval folk lore and specifically the Arthurian lore section. She found a purple egg here. Inside of it was a golden ticket along with another slip of paper. She read the paper first "King Arthur's legendary sword Excalibur was given back to the lady in the lake after his death by his knight, sir Bedivere." This was a story Ciel actually knew but then again she knew most stories about Arthur. She looked at the golden ticket. Oh sweet, I get a free book. She hurried off to the front desk to claim her prize.
