It was a boring day. Ali had absolutely nothing to do, and had therefore wandered out of her typical territory to explore the banks of a nearby river. She had teased the few fish she could find for a bit, but she grew tired of that rather quickly. Then she'd stumbled upon a rather large rock, the sun shining on it between the trees that mostly obscured the area, and decided to climb upon it and sun herself. This is where she was now, stretches out on the rock. Her chin rested on her front paws and she was humming quietly, wondering what on earth there was she could do with this boring, boring day. Hopefully some idea would strike her soon. The princess really did hate to remain unentertained.

Aiden would be the first to admit that he was not the most graceful Ulaya. Typically, it wasn't all that bad. But that was in the grasslands. Here, now, he was stomping through the forest, finding himself continuously tripping over roots and getting his paws tangled in vines. 'This is absolutely ridiculous,' he thought, shaking his head. He typically enjoyed being around others, but today he'd decided to try something new - adventuring. Aiden had been fearful to venture into the forest too far, but it was too late now - he'd stumbled down a hill and completely lost orientation. So now, his only hope was the wander out of it accidentally, or somehow find another Ulaya in the dense forest. 'As if that's gonna happen,' he thought grumpily, although he could almost swear he saw the trees thin out up ahead.

Ali's ears started flicking involuntary before she actually registered the loud crashing noises that was coming from deeper in the forest. Was that a potential sign of life? Ali sighed, lifting herself slowly from the lying position. Although, yes, this was a rather bland day, Ali wasn't completely sure that she was up to dealing with another Ulaya at the moment. Conversation was not exactly her forte when she was in one of her moods, which she seemed to have slipped into. A scowl settled over her face. She shifted her body so that she was facing the forest, awaiting whatever was sure to come out soon. Her thick-furred tail twitched impatiently. Couldn't she just get this over with already?

"Ouch," Aiden whimpered slightly, feeling a thorn lodge itself into one of his front paws. He stopped momentarily, dipping his head down to pull the thorn out with his teeth. Quickly, he spat it out, wrinkling his nose in slight disgust. "What on earth is this place?" Aiden shook his head and continued walking, heading directly toward the water he heard flowing ahead. Soon enough he burst through the trees, eyeing up a clearing next to the bank of a shallow river. He glanced around and jumped slightly, noticing he was not alone. Sitting high upon a rock was a strikingly patterned Moto female, and she did not look happy. Her tail was twitching and Aiden couldn't imagine that was a good sign. Deciding to ignore that, he quickly attempted to paw any twigs or leaves out of his fur, and then strode over towards the female. He grinned, bowing his head slightly when he reached the rock on which she sat. "Aiden," he introduced himself simply, "What may I call you?"

The creature that bounded out of the forest was nothing more than a commoner. Although it wasn't a typical trait of her breed, Ali was particular. She knew that she was stronger, bigger, faster than those other common Ulaya, and therefore, she was better. It was that simple. Especially when it came to the males. How on earth could a male expect to win over the affections of a woman bigger than him? Absolutely absurd, their breed was. Although she gave them points for trying. She gazed at the male, cocking her head. "Ali, if you so wish." Aiden was a strange looking sort, but not altogether unpleasant to look at. Gracefully, she bounded off the rock to approach him, eyeing up his peculiar, seemingly glowing, fur. "What is it that you want?" She inquired icily, eyes flashing as they focused in on his own, deep red eyes.

Aiden felt visibly uncomfortable with the female eyeing him up. He could feel her staring his (admittedly peculiar) flames and he really didn't like it. "No, they don't burn," he answered the unasked question that always rose in everyone's throat but never made it out of their mouth. "They're like... an aura. You can't really feel them, it's..." he shook his head a bit, "Weird." At her actual question, Aiden laughed. Ever carefree Aiden. He could hear her hostility and see how tense he was, but he refused to let it ruin his day. For the past few months he'd been avoiding women, still hurt over the ending of his mateship with Tulip. And he absolutely would not let this new girl, Ali, ruin his first real interaction with another girl outside of his close group of friends. "I was just wandering about! Nothing I really want, I suppose. But... are you aware you are quite gorgeous?" He meant the question innocently, always the type to dole out compliments, nothing much more than that. A compliment.

Ali almost cracked a smile at the male's immediate explanation of his experience. Almost. She nearly reached out a paw to test his statement that they wouldn't burn, but she realized how impolite that was, and she refused to be rude. That just wasn't in her nature! At his inquiry, she smiled coyly. Sitting down, she wrapped her tail around her body, tilting her chin upwards. 'Well, if there's any way for him to warm me up to the idea of talking, that's one hell of a way to do it.' Looking at him once more, she tilted her head. "Why yes, I was quite aware of that, although I am glad you recognize it as well. You're not half bad, either." She threw in the last bit as a kind of consolation prize for fluffing her ego. "So, what's your story?" The absolute quickest way to determine if someone was worth keeping around: seeing how interesting they were!

Unable to think of anything, Aiden just kind of shrugged. He wasn't all too interesting. Born one of five as the result of a one night stand between a demon spawn and a sweet, naive woman, he'd grown up in a rather broken family. Most of his siblings were on the darker side, while he was much more like his mother. He was calm, inquisitive, friendly. That had led to his union with his previous mate, Tulip, and the resulting kits they'd had together. Unfortunately, she grew rather distant and Aiden found he couldn't deal with that any longer, and moved on. But Aiden didn't find any of this really that interesting. So in response, he simply stated, "I was born, found a mate, had some kits, left her, and now I'm here. With you. That's about all there is to it. What about you? What's your story?" The female was clearly vindictive and although he knew she wouldn't enjoy her question remaining blatantly unanswered, he'd hoped to distract her with turning the question to her to answer.
