"LAND HOOOOO!" A squirrelly pirate shouted at the top of his lungs before scampering down from the crows nest.Instantly everything topside became alive. Pae started spilling out from where ever they had been to cram up to the front, pushing and shoving to try and get a view of the coveted land. It had been months since the last port, and they ached for proper meals and the prospect of more alcohol. The captain of course had to see for himself, as he was the one who plotted their course. He stepped from his cabin and saunter on deck before bellowing orders in a way only he could. "Avast ye! Steady now, ready the dingies! Lower the sails! Prepare to anchor! We'll be droppin in thirty ticks!"

The call of land brought Andromeda running from her cabin and to the rail. She leaned as far as she could over the rail, a big fat grin on her face. Land!
Others crowded and shoved around her, each wanting to get a glimps of the earth so far away. Easily, she wiggled back out of the crowd and moved immediately to start readying some of the dingies. Her wings ruffled in excitement. Land! Grass! Dirt! It'd all feel so wonderful under her toes.

As he barked out his orders, pae started dispersing into action. They would have to be out a decent way to keep from beaching his ship, as the light blue waters around the island suggested shallow area's branching far around it. He turned himself to walk towards the helm. He always liked to personally steer the ship the last bit to land, partially for the fun of it, partially for habit and a little bit of distrust to tempting fate. The fae who previously was steering instantly stepped aside, of course knowing the drill after years of sailing together. After Darias' first orders, it was up to Black Jack to carry out the additional ones and make sure everything ran smooth. The captain savored these few moments of sailing himself and so as first mate he would work tirelessly to make sure nothing pulled Darias away from it. Of course he saw Andromeda scamper to the dingies, taking off their tarps and untying them from their vice grip on the ship. She was a natural, soaking up their ways like a sponge. After that fateful day of the scuffle with the crew mate, there hadn't been so much as a peep from any other pirate about her being the Captain's bedmate. He still didn't know what Darias had done to piss her off afterwards. He moved over to her with a hearty grin, a hand reaching up to pat her shoulder. "Doin great lass. When we throw 'er overboard, lower her gently down instead of a real toss. Don't want to damage or send water into the dingy." It was nice to see her so excited. They all were. Where had the captain taken them to? What was waiting for them?

The large, rough hand on her shoulder brought her head up with a grin on her face. "Aye!" She responded, making sure to tuck the information about the lowering of the dingy into the back of her mind. After that fight she had sorta caused, no one had bothered her. They had teased her over other things, but had never made even an mummer about there being something between her and the captain.
Speaking of the captain, she looked up to see him standing at the wheel. A gentle, admiring smile came over her face as she took the scene in before returning to the work.
Once the ship and crew were ready, she began lowering the dingie. She had waited a little to watch how the others did theirs, then mimicked their movements and making sure to lower gently.

He grinned back at her, wanting to stay but knowing he was needed elsewhere. But just as he was about to turn, he caught that little smile as her silver eyes glanced up at the captain. Was there really something going on between the two of them? 'n' I suppose sharks ken talk! He thought with a snort as he moved away to the pirate controlling the rigging. Darias would have an easier time seducing a Lion fish than Andro. "Drop the Anchor!" Darias yelled from up top, a toothy smile on his face. The feeling of the ship under his feet, responding to his every turn. Sometimes he missed the good solid physical work of a low rank seadog. Though he would never. Ever admit it. Shortly after he heard the anchor drop, he heard the boats start lowering to the water. Orders were being shouted, grunts of sweaty males, and the scrape of chains being moved. All music to his ears. With the sails dropped, the boat almost had completely stopped as it was, so when the anchor hit bottom the boat only gave a little tug in protest before stopping completely. Grabbing a rope, he quickly tied the wheel down before hopping down the steps to meet his crew for one final pep talk. "A'ight, ai'ght, gather 'round maties! Ye know what time it be."

Andromeda was painfully aware that she was the ONLY one on the boat who had no idea what time it was, but she still joined the rest of the crew in crowding in around where Darius was. She could feel a buzz in the air from the excitement that radiated on the deck.
She moved herself to stand by Black Jack, near enough to hear Darius well as he started speaking. Her eyes were sparkling with excitement as she watched and listened.

He waited until everyone had gather round before he puffed out his chest proudly. It was time. "Tale has it there be an ancient, buried temple in that isle. Previous home to the Okahamai Tribe. We be here to take their ancient treasure!" The crew's excitement shifted slightly as they looked side to side. Were they doubting him? Just because Telrunya didn't have any treasure?! "'Magine, gold 'n' rubies 'n' sapphires up until yer eyes! Yer be doubtin me? Well. Take a look!" He reached into his puffy shirt and pulled out a yellowed, cracked rolled piece of paper. "A REAL map! Swindled from a REAL Okahamai tribesman. The last of 'em." At this, suddenly everyones eyes lit up, as a round of 'oos' and 'ahh's sounded. "Dat's right maties. REAL payout this time!"

She watched one in silence, her eyes picking up on the body language of the crew as Darius first told about the temple they were searching for, then pulled out a very weathered looking piece of paper. The excitement, which had dwindled, suddenly came back even stronger than before.

"Now, what ye all be waiting fer. Who gets to actually go today. It's Slagathor's first plunderin', so she be wit me. Black Jack goes where I go. Now, Jimmy, Graig, two-pin chris..." He rattled off the names, the mentioned pae's faces lighting up while the ones who were not looked tensely. Hoping. Of course they'd switch out the next day, but the first day was always the most sought after.OOC: TIME PASSES! BIC: The dingy hit the bottom of the land, and Darias lightly jumped out before swishing through the foot of water to the land. But of course, his body betrayed him. It betrayed all the crew that clamored out, as suddenly they became wobbly messes. Their steps were in tune with the ships, and the still, solid ground seemed more treacherous than the lurch of a wave. The captain, whose movements were considered graceful on the boat, were reduced to a bit of floundering. "Arghh! Land be so unfergiving!"

Leaping from the boat and into the warm water, Andromeda pushed the dingie into the shore to prevent it from drifting back out to sea. Being the last one to actually emerge from the water, she had seen everyone else wibble and wobble as they walked. She was prepared for stumbling, but she wasn't prepared for falling flat onto the sand.
"Devil's nutsack!" She laughed out, standing up and wobbling like a newborn dear walking for the first time.

Frustration had claimed his features as he struggled with his feet, before his steel blue eyes flicked over to Andromeda's fall right into the beach. Her laughter seemed to change the feel of the event, and what had been irritating suddenly was comical. Look at them, floundering like babies! He threw his head back to laugh, and with the two of them cackling it wasn't long until the rest of them joined in.
He glanced behind to make sure the dingies were properly beached before looking back in front. It was thick, very thick jungle. The sunlight barely pierced the first few feet before descending into darkness. It took little imagination to figure out why no one had found this treasure yet. "Ai'ght lads, pull out yer scimitars to hack a path. Keep an eye out fer hostiles." Even as he stopped walking to stand and talk to them, he still swayed like he was on the waves. It always took a few hours for him to get acclimated, and even then it was simply awful. How could walking on land be obviously easier, yet somehow so much harder?

Pushing herself back to her feet, Andromeda enjoyed the feeling of the warm, soft sand under her feet and squishing between her toes. The laughter that the crew had joined in on had truly lightened the mood.
She looked at the jungle ahead, noting at how much thicker it was compared to that back on Telrunya. She wasn't to surprised that they were going to have to cut their way through, but she had nothing with which to help. "Cap'n, what can I do?" She tilted her head to the side, her silver eyes resting on him as she cocked her hip and placed a hand on it.

Ah...right. Keeping her from a blade. After her little stint with Kale he had actively made sure not to let her get a hold of any weapons. It was all he needed to have a crew member get shanked because he eyeballed her. He turned his head to look at her, and instantly his eyes went to her popped out hip.
Speaking of hot.
His mind flashed briefly to their passionate kiss, and his mouth tightened slightly to keep from saying the first thing on his mind. She'd probably grab someone else's weapon and shank him for it. He forced his eyes back up to her face, but she just looked so good in her gear. The monkey vest, the short shorts, the sash on her head. "Pick up a stick? I dunno, yer pretty vicious with just yer fists. Probably knock out a tiger wit yer left hook." He chuckled with the crew at that before turning back towards the forest. "Make a line, two person abroad. Me 'n' Black Jack upfront, then two of ye louts, then slagathor and Kale, then whoever ye want to buddy up wit. I don't give a s**t."
And yes. He did mean Kale, the pae that none other than Andromeda had gotten into a scuffle with. They had to get rid of any awkwardness that may be between them to function as a proper crew. This was about all he'd do though to force them to get along. They were grown adults, and he weren't no babysitter.

It hadn't been missed by her that Darius' eyes were glued to her. Lusty as always, though she'd become used to it, even playing with him lightly over it. Like the fact that she popped out her hip just now. Because she was a cruel, evil woman, clearly. Her lips pulled up to show her teeth as she grinned at the compliment she got about her fists.
A puzzled look came over her face as she was assigned Kale as a partner. She hadn't spoken to the other crewmate since she decked him one for calling her the captain's whore. Since then, though, there had been no problems and she had essentially forgotten about it. Looking over to Kale, she gave him a nod and a grin.

In one fluid motion he brought out his sword with his remaining good hand. Without further pause, he then headed straight forward. Jack had to jog slightly to get next to him, having been lagging behind as he worked with the boat. "How lucky do ye think I be, ol' jacky boy?" He spoke with a bit of a grin before slicing into the brush. He pulled out his own blade when he came abreast to the captain. "In fortunes? Unparalleled." His eyes flicked to the shetani girl in the back, knowing exactly what the captain was really getting at. "In women...alas, ye could aim fer lower."The angel Kale however, did not look as pleased to see her as she did him. His arm had healed from the event, as did the bruises and scrapes. But the wounds inflicted afterwards of being 'beaten up by a girl' were not so easily healed. He had only just stopped being called a skirt wearing pansy. So when she grinned at him, he scowled back before falling in line with her. He wouldn't dare cross the captain, so would walk with her. But he wouldn't like it.
