This was not what he had expected. He had gone out into the rogue lands with the hope of helping those who needed it. With healing and rescuing others, if need be. He had not expected to be the one in need of help! But that was just what had happened, whether he had been anticipating it or not.
His mother was going to be so disappointed in him! He was simply not the hero she or his brother happened to be.
Currently, he found himself huddled beneath the over hang of a large rock that was protruding from the landscape. He was doing his best to hide from a large, angry rhino who had not been pleased to see a lion hanging around his birdy friend. But he hadn't been looking to hurt the bird, only give it some herbs to help it feel better! It had been complaining about a stomach ache.
The rhino only saw red, however, and would not think of the lion as anything other than a threat. While it stomped around, ignoring the bird and looking for something to ram, Ermey continued to hide.
He hoped the large being would leave soon, or at least get distracted. Knowing his luck, however, that wasn't likely to happen any time soon. |

  Lume stalked his prey, a devious grin on his face. Someone, he didn't know who, had already done the hard work for him. The leotah had spotted the rhino earlier that morning, already knowing he was in for a fun time, after a mid-morning nap, of course. But when he had followed the rhino's tracks to begin the antagonization stage of his little game, Lume had found the rhino already pissed off and fuming! The male had no idea what had happened to make the rhino so angry, but Lume was glad for it. Now, he could just jump straight into things.
Or rather, onto things.
Specifically the rhino.
Lume took off into a dash, his cheetah speed sending him flying across the dirt. With a mighty leap, the leotah sprang up and landed on top of the rhino's back, claws digging into the thick skin for purchase. Lume wasn't really hurting the thing, giving that it was born with natural armour, which was why he preferred messing with rhinos over hoofed beasts. He only did that when he planned on eating said hoofed beast later on.
The rhino snorted wildly and began thrashing about, trying to fling Lume off of his back. The leotah cackled as he was bounced and tossed about, his claws just barely hanging on. Rhinos didn't jump and buck as crazy as zebras tended to go during this game, but rhinos could lurch with far more body weight behind them. And they were infinitely more dangerous.
Lume managed to hold on for a good 10 or 15 seconds before he was suddenly sailing through the air. The leotah, being a practiced lander, tucked himself into a tight ball and rolled along the ground when he made contact instead of simply splatting onto the earth. Still, the force of the impact knocked the breath out of him, and the male was left trying to refill his lungs as the rhino began thrashing about in the grass blindly, trying to find the attacker that had just scratched up his back.
